  4. Growing up female in this world is not easy. In China, baby girls are routinely put up for adoption. And in parts of Africa, women are still made to live in tents during the time of their menses.

    1. And even in fancy countries like the United States and England, seven out of ten girls have a negative body image.

  6. Ok, yeah, I kept my resolution. So I have this friend who is a new student this year. And I convinced her that it would be fun to mess up Regina George's life. So I had her pretend to be friends with Regina, and then she would come to my house after and we would just laugh about all the dumb stuff Regina said. And we gave her these candy bar things that would make her gain weight and then we turned her best friends against her.
And then, oh yeah-Cady-you know my friend Cady? She made out with her boyfriend and we convinced him to break up with her.
Oh God, and we even gave her foot cream instead of face wash.

  7. If not exercising and gaining weight count as resolutions, then yes.

  13. I didn't make one this year, but I have kept the past couple. Three years I've been parking on aisle 4 as far from the store as I can get..rain or shine. Don't lose my car, get a little exercise, don't have to fight for a spot. And I've become a recycling junkie. Two years. Once I stopped making it about weight, I was successful.

  15. I resolved not to visit CDAN. The guilt and shame haven't stopped me coming back.. just added another nuance to the experience. I do feel a little dirty afterwards.
