Will Arnett Files For Divorce From Amy Poehler

Will Arnett and Amy Poehler have been separated for so long that I think everyone just assumed someone had already filed for divorce. Nope. Will filed last week. It isn't like they were making an effort to get back together so they probably just settled everything and now are filing. Either that or Will found someone else to marry. Doubtful. He has been an aging Wilmer Valderrama around town. What I totally forgot was back in the day Will was married to Penelope Ann Miller. Many of you probably have no idea who she is, but back in the day she was the "it" actress of the day. There was a time in the early 90's that it seemed she was in every movie or talked about or attached to every movie. Then she got involved with Will Arnett and had a year long marriage to him and it all came crashing down. I was really happy to see her in The Artist a couple of years ago and she does work steadily, but it is nothing like it used to be. Another interesting note is that about the time Will and Amy split, Penelope also split with her husband although they have since reconciled.

  4. Haven't heard Penelope's name in a long time, she really was great. Went out with Broderick for awhile around the time they were on Broadway together, was it Biloxi Blues?

  5. I too thought they had gotten a divorce awhile back. They actually look pretty miserable in this pic.

Love Amy! She looks like Anna Faris here though.

  9. It's sad, but it's not as sad as being stuck with a cheating-ass spouse.

  10. @Kristin... LMAO!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! True!

  11. Miller also dated Matthew Broderick and Al Pacino. Arnett was a big step down.

  12. Penelope Ann Miller's best role was in Big Top Pee-Wee.

  13. I always confused penelope with Mary Louise Parker.

  14. Nah her best roll was in Adventures in Babysitting. ;)

  15. Arnett's a douche, but let's not blame him for Penelope Ann Miller's career nose-dive, okay?

  16. Adventures in Babysitting, loved that movie. Brenda with the kitty was hysterical!

  17. I never did like Penelope Ann Miller for some reason. You're right. She was in everything for a while there, but I never found her empathetic for some reason. I have the same problem with Amy Adams and Rachel McAdams. I will go see movies they are in, but I will never go see a movie BECAUSE they're in it. Don't know why.

  18. I didn't necessarily dislike PAM but I never got how they were passing her off as someone super sexy and she just was not to me. In fact Harry's picture is the only evidence I've ever seen to bolster that opinion she's sexy. I'm still suspect that it's her because I've never seen her with red hair.

She was the "femme fatale" in Other Peoples Money with Danny DeVito and I think Michael Douglas. Too busy to IMDB.

Glad Amy dumped the douche finally though.

  19. A leather shovel! Ahahaha!

I thought they were already divorced, too.

  20. Duh, we know who PAM is! KINDERGARTEN COP, ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, CARLITO'S WAY, etc.

(She had an affair with Shouty Al during the CW filming and told Kneepads about it; you can still find it online and read it. I believe that it takes two to tango, but that still pretty much wrecked his relationship with that acting coach he was seeing at the time and had a now-grown baby girl with. I'm a big Pacino fan, so again, while it takes two to tango, I thought that was pretty tacky of her.)

  22. It's not Miller on the picture, but an unnamed model for a Helmut Newton photograph.

Miller was nude (and hot) in Carlito's Way.

It's stupid to blame the decline of her career on Arnett. They were married for a few months, and there are many other actresses who faded quickly after being crowned the new It Girl of Hollywood. Remember Julia Ormond?

  23. Thank you Angela. I didn't think it looked like PAM at all. Now Harry find that "hot" picture Angela is talking about please.

Yeah whatever happened to Julia Ormond?

The special Vanity Fair recently published that talked about the Oscars past had all the up and coming actors/actress covers for like the last 10 years and there are people on there you've never heard of. Makes you wonder what happened after being touted as "the next big thing".

  24. Julia Ormond aged poorly. She played the Dan Draper's French wife's mother in Mad Men.

  25. Huh? Aren't they already divorced?

She looks pretty in that photo.

  26. Sorry about the fake picture. I'm a worthless piece of shit. Here's the best pic of Penelope Ann Miller from Carlito's Way that I could find.

  27. I actually met Amy 3 years ago at a charity event. She was very sweet. Her husband Will Arnett was standing nearby talking to someone else. I am a huge fan of Arrested Development, but I didn't have the nerve to say hi to him. He just didn't strike me as approachable. I hope they both find happiness and stay amicable for their adorable sons.

  28. I remember that, AKM. Pacino was seriously pissed that his piece on the side ran her mouth. He fucked her so he has no excuse but she was obnoxiously indiscreet.

Do you know what Kathleen Quinlan did that pissed Pacino off so much? He hasn't allowed her name to be spoken in his presence since they split up. Must have been a doozy.

  29. It's not like Al seems to have ever been faithful to the women he has been with so I can't get too upset that one of his side pieces, quoting from Malibu, was indiscreet and he got publicly outed for once.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Malibu - Hmm, I don't remember him being that upset about KQ. I seem to recall in the Lawrence Groebel book that he talked about her fondly. I could be remembering it wrong, though.

@Tina - It wasn't that he got publicly outed, so much; like I said, it takes two to tango, totally. But I reread the PEOPLE article after I posted here, and...yeah. She's outrageously smug about it, like she WANTED to cause trouble, never mind that he had a child with that woman. Ya know? *shrug*

    ReplyDelete
  31. I haven't read Groebel's book on Pacino, maybe he mellowed out (or it's the dementia everyone keeps talking about).

You're right, Miller was smug and very "in your face" about outing the affair. She also went on some talk show blabbing about it. At the time I thought she was making a play for Pacino, hoping that he'd dump the other one or she'd dump him. If so, it backfired in a big way.

  32. Love Amy, Will is a douche canoe and if he never worked again; it wouldn't break my heart.

  33. Was Will head always that big? Team Amy.
