  1. 25 is entirely too young. So very sad.

It seemed like she had gotten it together...

    1. I think ppl might be way off when assuming that this sudden and tragic death was due to addiction. Peaches was an obviously loving full-time mother to her two very young baby boys. While yes, it's possible her death was caused by drugs, I think it's much more likely that she died due to her self professed "obsessively" calorie resticted diet. At one point just before her first pregnancy she proudly admitted to subsisting on a long term liquids only diet which is how she got so drastically slim. I think it got the best of her.

I hope her husband is more together than Princess Peach (for the kids' sake) leave the wanna bwvsatanism at home, and focus in being a dad.

  4. So brutal. All I really know is that there are very young kiddos. Rest in peace and I hope her boys get all the love and support they need. Addiction truly is a bear y'all, if that's what this was.

  7. Whoa, what? It really seemed like she had turned her life around completely in the last few years.

    Very sad for those kids!

  8. And another precious life taken from heroin. Heartbreaking.

Well Paula was an over bleached epic mess.

  10. Bob Geldof's statement is a bit of a punch in the gut. I don't want to even try and imagine.

  11. Leaving two babies behind. So very tragic. She must of had too much pain inside and pushed too far....Bless her and her family.

  12. holy shit that family is bonkers

    so bob has tiger lily
actual formal custody AND CHANGED her last name to geldof insane

    ReplyDelete

    1. She has a HYPHENATED last name, that was her choice. She considers Bob, the person not related to her, but who selflessly adopted her so she could be with her half sisters, as her dad. Her mom AND dad were selfish assholes. Hated hearing this about Peaches, but we got the blind last year about her....

    2. What was the blind about?

  13. So unbelievably sad. Even sadder for the children(like she was) who grow up with an empty space inside. What a terrible legacy to leave behind.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Is not change her name, only added the geldof to it, which makes sense, the girl was a tiny baby when her parents died, adding geldof brought her closer to her new family

    1. I believe Bob adopted Tiger Lily, which would be the reason for the new last name.

      Delete
    2. He did and had to, made sense for her to be brought up with her sisters, thus, adding the geldof to hutchence.
I was just answering nurysp, I don't know if this person knows both parents died and tiger had no one else to care for her.

  15. Wow just looking up something for another post and saw she died. This is pretty tragic. Sad, sad, sad...

  16. I read Paula's autobiography. She was an interesting person and I did not expect to like her before I started reading it. She got some devastating blows in a relativity short time period, the nasty divorce with Geldof - her own fault mind you but Geldof played dirty, Hutchence offing himself, finding out who her real father was, which was quite the UK scandal at the time, Geldof getting custody of the three girls and then Michael's family trying to get custody of Tiger, for good reason, Paula was wacked out on heroin all the time. Tiger Lily was about 4 and alone in her flat when she found her mother dead.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Was she using again? So sad for her babies and the rest of her family.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @nursy - Tyger was brought up by Bob from when she was a small baby. Both her bio parents were dead. She was brought up with her bio sisters. She goes by the name Hutchence-Geldof. Which gives her partly the same name as her sisters., yet keeps her dad's name swell. A sense of belonging if you will, i would imagine. Not very much bonkers about that.

I don't even know how i know all that.

  19. gotta be drugs. you don't just die at 25 for no reason. as for her dad, from what i remember, he's quite an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What? This is so sad.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I remember reading a blind about a mom so whacked, she flipped over the baby catriage while talking to a girlfriend on the phone. I didn't know she was Tiger Lily, I always wondered what happened to that baby. R.I.P, so sad.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Really sad. I wish people wouldn't make presumptions until the facts are known.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Her dad may be an asshole (and he is) but this is just too sad for anyone to have to go through. Parents shouldn't outlive children and children shouldn't grow up missing a parent.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Comments on here differ from the UK - should not be speculating on causes - let her RIP and think of her family - too quick to jump to conclusions

    ReplyDelete
  25. RIP. Hope her boys have someone stable caring for them.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My sister had a one night stand with Michael Hutchenson while he was married to Paula. She said that he said Bob Geldoff was evil. Who knows if thats true considering everyone involved. Another junky leaving children behind. Just like her mother did.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Bunni: This isn't Tiger Lily, but her older half-sister Peaches. Tiger Lily, AFAIK, is OK...or as OK as anyone can be who's lost both parents and now a sibling at such a young age.

    2. Derrick, loopy, panic in needle park was awesome. So good i thought it was a documentary.

  29. My God this is horrible. STAY OFF THE DRUGS KIDS!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Also, I know virtually nothing about her widower, but I do hope he has/can get his act together for the boys' sake, and/or has a good, solid family support system. Sir Bob doesn't need to be raising his grandchildren at this point; perhaps Thomas' parents would do a better job, or at least a more low-profile one.

    ReplyDelete
  31. She was damaged but she had plenty of therapy, rehab and support over the years. She still didn't care enough about her kids to make sure she didn't do to them what her mother did to her.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Derek I think you mean Panic in Needle Park?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Even if we find out it wasn't an overdose or anything addiction related, heroin will still have played a part in her downfall. Just a sad sad fact.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If she was as much of a mess as rumor says, the kids are better off.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Here's Bob's statement, courtesy of the Beeb:

Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.

Writing "was" destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.

Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.

Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.

(It kills me that celebrities/public figures are expected, if not obligated, to make some kind of official public statement at times like this; considering what they're going through, it's amazing that any of them put out something even vaguely coherent. Parents just aren't supposed to outlive their children, and toddlers aren't supposed to lose their mothers. *sigh*)

    ReplyDelete
  36. JFC, I remember when Peaches was born. Unbelievably sad.

Bob's statement was definitely like a punch in the gut.

Michael Hutchence* (his death still saddens me to no end).

  37. That's what happens when you are down with Alistair Crowley.

  38. God how awful. Hopefully she's found some peace. Asshole or not, I feel for her father.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Plenty of people die young an undiagnosed heart ailment, a brain aneurysm can take you out at any age.

I say give the girl the benefit of the doubt until more facts come to light.

She seemed to be on the right track these last few years settled down with a family that seemed happy enough.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That family has really been through the wringer. I feel for each and every person who knew and loved Peaches. I was really pulling for her, especially after she had the babies. I hope they are loved, supported, and nurtured enough that the cycle stops with them.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Is everyone saying she got it together forgetting about that photo she instagrammed saying there was a ghost living in her bathtub a couple of months ago?

As much as I would love to believe this was a random heart issue (happened to 2 folks I know out of the blue in their 30s, I'm led to believe that this is another unfortunate case of someone with the means to help themselves choosing not to and leaving two children without a mother, but with a questionable father and Bob Geldof to "help."

    ReplyDelete
  42. Tiger was born in 1996, Paula died in 2000 so Tiger was 4 years old at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well Derek the bottomline is they all behaved badly when it came to the divorce in some respect but because it was Sir Bob Geldof, Saint Bob, he had the vicious UK tabloid press on his side and more money. I was shocked to find out just how rich our LIVE AID Boomtown Rat always looking like he needed and needs a bath made himself and good for him, he pretty much owns or he did when I looked it up a few years ago a media empire.

    ReplyDelete
  44. No kid deserves junkie parents to go along with whatever brain/gene damage was passed during gestation. Those poor kids.

    ReplyDelete
  45. We are perhaps jumping to conclusions but it is odd how many addicts slip up just when everyone else thought they were getting it together, like Cory Monteith.

Then again PG may have suffered post partum depression. With a recent mother you can also never rule that out as well.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anonymous12:36 PM

    Too bad...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Why is Bob an asshole? He raised his daughters when their mother chose drugs over them. And their younger sister too.
Maybe I'm biased but I don't understand that.

I feel sad for him tonight. And I feel.sad for the Geldof sisters. They have lost so much in their short lives. No family should have to endure such tragedies.

    ReplyDelete
  48. "Michael Hutchence* (his death still saddens me to no end)."

I agree Snapdragon. Tiger is now the spitting image of her father esp at the same age.

What I never knew about Hutchence until he died, is that he suffered a brain injury that no one knew about until it was disclosed after he died. In 1992, 1993? he got into a scuffle in Europe, he was with Helena Christensen at the time, and he fell off a bike and hit his head on a curb and the fool never went to a hospital. A doctor later diagnosed that he had suffered a brain injury that caused the loss of his sense of taste and smell and the band and his brother said MH was never quite the same guy after that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. WHY am I reading so many comments about people assuming this is an overdose. Have none of you ever heard the term "dual diagnosis" - referring to an addict who also suffers from mental illness, be it clinical depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. This could very easily be a suicide OR an overdose. Please if you're going to throw stones, try and think your shit through clearly.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Don't worry enty will be posting his reveals about Peaches soon I imagine...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh wow.

I find this so very sad and heartbreaking. ;(

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bunni, that wasn't a blind, there were photographs. I hope her kids are raised by someone who can take better care of them than she did. Anyone who cares more about their phone than their kid should never be a parent.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I was thinking the same, Timebob. The couple who lived next door to me almost lost their daughter-in-law - 26 and Mom to two under 5 and preggo at the time - to an aneurysm a few years ago. Young women seem to fall victim to that often, it seems. Perhaps Peaches passed from a natural event unrelated to past indiscretions.

I think the beef with Geldof is the fact Michael Hutchence's family - especially his Mom - was robbed of having Tiger Lily in their lives in any meaningful way. That adoption was on rails due to Geldof's saint-like status in the UK. I know I think a lot less of him because of that .. But this is horrible and no parent, spouse, child, sibling or other close relative should ever have to have this happen.

Now I will take my leave and go put the ending of Shameless last night on a loop and just stay in that headspace for a few millennia. Too much horror lately.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Um .. Mary .. Jump back on that. She did do drugs fairly heavily one point in her life, so it is a natural assumption to make.

God knows, anyone who knows me from the old pre-Himmmmmmmmmmmm days, knows I am all up in the mental illness being self-medicated thing .. Self- medicating Bi-polar alcoholic Dad was my lot in life .. But even a self-medicating junkie who OD's is still a junkie. Sorry .. But that is truth .. harsh and shitty .. But still truth.

But I am still hopeful - as if one even could be in this situation - it turns out to be something natural that was just a cruel twist of fate.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I have seen interviews with both Bob and Michael Hutchence's parents sitting together saying that in the end it was for the best she lived with Bob.
It was emotional at the time, but they worked it out. They even holiday together.
The Hutchence's had lost their son. They thought they would lose their granddaughter. Of course they were upset, buy in the end they are now an extended family.

And really, the more people a child has in their lives that love them, the better off that child will be.

    ReplyDelete
  58. To the person who wrote "for good reason, Paula was wacked out on heroin all the time." - sorry, not it wasn't. I have seen people in my own family deal with as bad as if not worse situations and none of them have ever turned to drugs or alcohol to deal with it. That's the coward's way of dealing.

As Mr. Macky says, "Drugs are bad, mkay," no matter how much any of you here say otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well Tiger had Michael's parents, who were divorced and didn't get along, his half sister and his brother. Michael's father agreed with Geldof that Tiger was better off with her sisters and he got along with Geldof but not Patricia his mother and Tina his sister but at the end Michael was not getting along with his mother and sister, only his brother and father.

    ReplyDelete
  60. nightowl my grammar sucks what I meant to say that Geldof had a good reason to get sole custody of the girls and Michael's father had a good reason to pursue custody of Tiger before Paula died, because she was wacked on heroin/a mess and hardly in any condition to look after any child.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Bob didn't raise those girls. They were in a separate apartment below his with their nannies as soon as Paula died and they needed to make appointments to see him. Neither he nor his girlfriend made those often.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. How do you know this? We're you one of the nannies, the girlfriend or are you one of the girls? I mean unless you saw this yourself, you don't know. Hearsay and innuendo are not the truth. Secondary "stories" are hardly "proof" of anything.

      Delete
  62. Wow!! Whose fault is this. Surely not hers.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I always thought it was not right how Bob Geldof (excuse me, SIR Bob Geldof) used his fame and money to crush Michael Hutchence's family and take custody of Tiger Lily.

Bob Geldof is not related to Tiger Lily by blood. Yes, his daughters are her half-sisters but Michael Hutchence was her biological father and surely his family should have had priority in raising her?

I hope she survives the Geldof/Yates curse is all I can say.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Completely awful. All condolences to family. Rest in peace little pne.

    ReplyDelete
  65. She really seemed to want to turn her life around. I feel sad that she didn't make it, leaving two tiny kids and a husband.
I don't want to jump to any conclusions as to what she passed away from. It could have been natural causes. I just read some where else people are guessing AIDS. I think if she should be allowed to rest in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Bob's words made my heart ache.

I don't think she OD'd but I think past drug use could have been a factor. I hope the dad can pull himself together and make sure the right care is given to his boys.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This is very sad but not at all surprising - I thought it was pretty well established that she was using heavily after each pregnancy.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Not surprising at all. And to those taking the moral high ground "how dare you assume", you need to look at why YOU are freaking out.
Why do you think a junkie, who had a junkie mother, is dead???
Fall from a tree collecting honey and dewberries??
    I think not.

    ReplyDelete
  69. She struggled and seemed to have regained so much ground, then lost it, then was maybe getting it back. Lots of love to her family and I hope she's at peace now.

    ReplyDelete
  70. So sad, particularly her family having to comment. I hope they cope as well as possible with this loss. Will be particularly difficult as all losses they have suffered have been sudden, no chance to say goodbye. No parent should have to bury a child, & no sibling should have to attend a funeral of one so young. Her children & husband, just can't imagine.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wow, horrible news to wake up to. I wasn't a massive fan of her attention seeking ways, but no one deserves this. Apparently she'd posted a pic of herself and her Mum the night before online. She has very publicly said before that she never properly grieved for her mother, didn't cry at her funeral, just got on with it. That's a really dangerous thing for any kid to do, or person for that matter. Those poor babies.....

  73. As someone who has suffered from anorexia and various eating disorders, it is quite possible that she may have went into cardiac arrest, if the rumors of ED's are true. However, she does not have the tell tale signs of emaciation and her skin looks the proper colour (if severley restricted the skin will have a grey tint). Unfortunetly it seems more likely to be drug related

    ReplyDelete
  74. Very sad news. I agree we should wait to see what the official cause of death was before jumping to conclusions. She seemed awfully thin to me but other than that seemed healthy and clean. But you never know of course.

@Tina Mallette is correct about Geldof getting along with Hutchence's late father and younger brother. The father had regular contact with the little girl until he died a few years ago, he just didn't squeal to the press about it. It was Hutchence's mother and sister who didn't get along with Geldof.

    ReplyDelete
  75. @Gina sorry to hear you went through that, I have friends who have and it is insidious and not pretty. I agree, it could very well be related to an EO this pic from her Instagram was taken only 3 days ago and her shoulders and arms look emaciated....

  107. Bob's mother died of a previously undiagnosed brain aneurysm quite young. Vascular disorders can be hereditary. Could be so many things....

It's just sad. She looked so happy with her kids and talked about how having them gave her life meaning and direction. At least she had a little happiness for awhile....

  108. That's a great point @WUWT, I read Bob's autobiography years ago, it's a great read and so sad about his Mum.

Press are now reporting that there's no suicide note or sign of drugs in the house, could be natural causes. Many people pop their clogs young from un diagnosed conditions...

In CDaN news, Derek appears to be channelling Peaches circa 2009!

I love 100% of you crazy mofos....

  110. Ffs! The attention is off you for a minute and you bring out the crazy. A 25 year old mother of two drops dead and you make that post about you.
    Wahhh... Notice me, notice me...
You realise this isn't the Derek show, don't you?

  111. Some of the comments on here are appalling ( mooshki and others ) - jumping to conclusions . All this nonsense about her being a bad mother - disgraceful comments . Read her most recent interview with 'mother and baby' magazine and look at her instragram . She was devoted to her 2 little boys and should be given credit for changing her life around. Reports this morning say NO drugs found at the scene . RIP

  112. Katy Black (& others),

I don't think it's fair to hassle people for thinking drugs may have played a part in this. They're speculating here about someone that has acknowledged those issues in the past.

Only a few of the most crass people have been gross about it - that's different, because oooh, they're so edgy. And they would have been foul regardless of the topic matter. Internet.

It's sad when someone dies, or has an addiction, or leaves children, or has a pet that dies. It doesn't affect me and I won't think on it long - but while I do, my thoughts are with those that love Peaches Geldof.

@Derek, um, why do you hate me? Hate's an awfully strong word for someone you don't know and who hasn't uttered a peep about you.

  121. It is a gossip site after all, why not jump to conclusions?
Have people forgotten about how heroin works?
You kick the habit, lose your tolerance, and make the mistake of taking your old dose when you start up again. OD. Classic story.
Yes, it's sad. She had a life. She lost it. No matter how she left the planet, at least some of that is down to drugs. At least some of that is down to her.
Peace to her kids. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.
