Four For Friday - Traditional
The last weekend before tax day here in the US so I'm sure lots of people will be hunched over their computers feeding money to TurboTax and the like. Celebrities will forget to do it of course and then blame someone a few years from now when they get a bunch of liens. If you need an escape for a few minutes or a few hours I will be here all weekend. I would love for you to follow me on Twitter. I am @entylawyer
After a very long absence my accountant friend has returned and these four people all gave to charity. Some gave over $1M and one only gave $100 despite earning millions.
#1 - This former A+ list entertainer(singer) who will always be A list especially by bartenders and people who think they can play piano gave away about $5M last year to schools and programs to benefit music programs.
#2- This A+ list mostly movie actor talks a big game, but when it comes to writing checks he wrote one for $100 to a church garage sale. The actor earned well over $20M last year.
#3 - This former A list tweener is an a-hole and I still don't like him but he did manage to give away a little over $2M last year to charity and he hasn't started classifying hookers as a charity yet.
#4 - This A- list mostly television actor is on a very hit network show that he has been on a very long time. Made about $10M last year and gave $25K to charity.

4.Ed O'Neil or Jon Cryer
ReplyDelete#2
ReplyDeleteR
D
J
#2 RDJ
ReplyDelete2) Mark Wahlberg (talks big game for sure...)
ReplyDeleteMaybe #4 is Asston?
ReplyDeleteAsston gets mostly movie billing now. I think this is Jon Cryer
Delete#1 Billy Joel - making love to his tonic and gin
ReplyDelete*duh
ReplyDeleteDammit FSP!!!
ReplyDeleteDammit Lotta!!!
DeleteAgree with most of you:
ReplyDelete1. Billy Joel
2. Mark Wahlberg
3. Justin Beiber
4. Patrick Dempsey
@Karen! Those were the exact names I was just typing in! The only one I go back and forth on is Wahlberg, but he could have been passing by church garage sale and just dropped a hundie.
ReplyDeleteI think the saddest thing about #2 is Marky Mark is considered A+ movies now :(
ReplyDeleteI can't think of any big actor who talks bigger game. Maybe he's A+ in his head? LOL. He does make a shit ton with producing so that could inflate his ranking
DeleteI think that #4 has multiple possibilities; I'd consider ruling out Jon Cryer since he makes $600,000 per episode, putting him at over $13million annually without counting any endorsements he might have.
ReplyDeleteAnother one could be David Boreanaz
Is Bones still a hit show? I'm sure Cryer makes much more from syndication cuts and other stuff...
DeleteJoel for sure
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Mel for 2 (no idea what he made last year but the church angle fits)
Beibs of course
zero idea about 4.
oh Marky Mark is a Great! guess for number 2.
ReplyDeleteThat guy is such an asshat!
@sandy....true.true. Sad indeed. The cat brought in over $50M last year, in main part due to Ted.
ReplyDeletebetty white for the 100 buck smuck drop. alcohol, drugs, and crazy sex rules her life.
ReplyDeleteSing us a song oh piano man! Love Joel.. he just attended an elementary school music show that was in tribute to his songs.
ReplyDeleteAnd he sat in the back row so they wouldn't see him and get nervous!
DeleteGood Guy Billy Joel.
Good for them for spreading it around!
ReplyDeleteNo. 4 Mark Harmon. Just because I love him very much.
ReplyDeleteOh hang on I get it now. It's a bad thing. In which case no it would never be my beloved Mark Harmon. In my world £25k is a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteWill Smith for number two. Talks a big game, Big Willie Style. Was that him or Jamie Foxx in Any Given Sunday? Smith made $23 million last year.
ReplyDeleteahhhh, the tax code can be a beautiful thing...
ReplyDelete#1-Billy Joel
ReplyDeleteMark and Pam are very generous and he gives much more than just $25K.
#2-Do not know
#3-Biebs
#4-Do not know
I think I'd rather feed money to TaxAct (screw TurboTax and their spyware) than to a blabbermouth accountant.
ReplyDelete1; Elton John
ReplyDelete2; ?
3; Biebs
4; Jon Cryer sounds good
#2 Sean Penn
ReplyDeleteaccountant not gonna be an accountant much longer if he keeps disclosing obvious Blinds
ReplyDeleteKaren is right - I agree.
ReplyDeleteBilly Joel is 1 and forever A+ Enty
ReplyDeleteBiebs for 3
#4 is not Mark Harmon - he makes WAY more than $10 million a year and is known for his generosity - remember he and Pam were the answer to the blind about giving the contents of a grocery store to foodbanks.
ReplyDeleteApparently Mark Wahlberg goes to mass every day. So #2 could be him or not b/c if he's going day he's giving a lot more to the collection plate.
ReplyDelete*daily*
DeleteI'm thinking Texas TRex for #2.
ReplyDelete@rajahcat That's what I was going to say. Billy Joel reached Legend status about 30 years and 100 million record sales ago, and he ain't stoppin' yet.

GOOD POINT SCARLET unless they work for IRS
here is the thing though, many celebrities have companies they set up for various reasons include foundations
one of their companies or their own foundations may be the one giving the donations to various charities and individuals
does Mr. Accountant know all the details of these celebrities and did he take that into account
#1 is definitely Ben Folds and it's not a big secret - he's very open about his passion for raising and donating money to musical education.
ReplyDeleteBilly Joel is donating the entire proceeds of his May 9th Madison Square Garden concert (which also happens to be his birthday) to North Shore Animal League.
ReplyDeleteBacking up the Ben Folds answer: http://nashvillearts.com/2012/10/01/ben-folds-on-music-education-2/
ReplyDeleteThis all are kindness. I don't agree with the undertone about the $100 dude. This is all said in order to avoid paying taxes. For example, when I give some beggar or other charity some euros, I would never write it down my tax papers.
ReplyDeleteIf the person donated that amount, it is a coke dose he doesn't buy, and he has lawfully (I hope) earned his money.
#2 - Tom Cruise Is Scientology considered a charity?
ReplyDeleteOr Brad Pitt, who talks an extremely big game.
I think #1 is Billy Joel due to the video going around this week of him surprising schoolkids. Also, I am seeing him tonight! Haven't seen him since the Stormfront tour in '90. Yay!
ReplyDelete1. Billy Joel
ReplyDelete2. Brad Pitt
3. Bieber
4. Starts with a B?
I don't even know who Ben Fold is.
ReplyDeleteBilly Joel is the piano man, always will be.
A hundred beans is a lot at a garage sale. I'm not gonna pile on a guy for not showing off.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna guess Matt Damon for #2. Just a feeling I've got!
ReplyDelete2) Charleze new boyfriend (still?). Talks a good game but don't know what he actually donates if anything.
ReplyDeletePenn, Damon and Pitt give millions to charity every year.
ReplyDelete1 Billy Joel
2 Marky Mark sans Funky Bunch
3 Biebs
4 Dempsey
I so badly want Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley to get back together.
ReplyDeleteMalibu Morebee, I thought about Dempsey, too, but he has a whole charity for ovarian cancer research after his mother, so I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteA - Tony Bennet
B - Will Smith
C - Justin Bieber
Sorry, Borebee!
ReplyDeleteBilly Joel is extremely generous. He just donated a $250,000 concert piano to Stony Brook University. He also donated an autographed Steinway baby grand for auction to help raise money for lesson programs in East Harlem.
ReplyDeleteHe donates his personal time quite a bit also.
Only one I knew is #3 - Bieber.
ReplyDelete@msgirl He has a band called Ben Folds Five. I had to look up the name of my fave song from them, which is an angry breakup song. I thought it was 'I Hate You' but it's actually "Song for the Dumped".
ReplyDeleteJoel
ReplyDeleteWalburg
Biebs
Dempsey
