Jezebel has a post on their site which makes a really good argument that Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott faked their most recent cheating scandal to land another reality show. They list seven reasons why they believe the scandal has been faked, but I want to focus on two of them because they are the most strong.
They cite Tori's relationship with US Weekly and how the US Weekly and Tori's scandal don't really fit together in that relationship. US Weekly was the first to report about the most recent scandal. Other tabloids have reported other times that Dean has cheated and I had a blind about one of the times he cheated, but no one other than US Weekly caught this new scandal in their net. The thing is US Weekly has paid for and featured Tori on plenty of covers and stories, so why would they release the story about the scandal, and do so on Christmas Eve when it would get the most attention in a very quiet time for breaking gossip stories?
Why would Tori then give US Weekly her first exclusive interview after the scandal?Wouldn't she hate the magazine after what they did to her and her family? Not if it wasn't real in the first place. This kind of accusation puts US Weekly in a very awkward spot. Were they complicit in all of this? How come they didn't provide a photo of the alleged person who gave them the story? The only Emily Goodhand in Canada found on social media has denied being the Emily Goodhand who had sex with Dean.
This brings me to the other great point that Jezebel made. How is it that a 28 year old woman who had sex with a married Dean McDermott has no social media presence. No LinkedIn. No Twitter. No Facebook. No nothing. That just doesn't seem likely. How come no other tabloid has been able to locate her?
Now, a point of my own. Amber Goodhand is a reporter for Radar. That is the only Goodhand I have ever heard of, but granted, you might know some. Amber is also from Canada. Do you think that name was chosen as a dig at Radar? I think it is kind of strange that the last name and nationality of the person who had sex with Dean shares the same last name and nationality as a reporter for Radar, and that the name is really uncommon.
Passed the point of being the least bit interested in these fame whoring assholes. Learn a trade to make money or make amends with mom to get some. Just go away!
ReplyDeleteAnd take the Kartrashians with you!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what cable channel their show is on but maybe US Weekly and the channel are owned by the same media group?
ReplyDelete@Hey sandy! Trying to sort this out, obv need more coffee. Goodhand sounds like a pilgrim name. Funny/cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Leeky! Name sounds almost Native North American.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe the media company owns AllState Insurance too--you know the goodhands people?
ReplyDelete@sandy Yes, it could be!
ReplyDeleteI'd be livid if people accused me of sleeping with Dean McDermott.
ReplyDeleteHa haha ha
DeleteBo-ringgggggg.
ReplyDeleteLike my pilgrim name used to be Princess Manybottles back in the day. Morning everyone!
ReplyDeleteMorning ttm
DeleteI dont think his cheating is faked. He is a cheat. However i dont think they mind turning that into fodder for their show. This IS how they make a living, as screwed up as that is.
ReplyDeleteI have no interest in trying to Courtney Love this one out. ~yawn~
ReplyDelete@TTM Hahahahaha!!! Good one. Hey there!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ Pip
ReplyDeleteDon't care and who would admit to sleeping with that fug guy except for Spelling?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he bathed and shaved more in the early weeks?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone really care ?
ReplyDeleteI completely called this!
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to work up any dislike or anger right now. I guess it is because I don't care one iota about Tori and Dean and their 'sexless' marriage...which couldn't have been all that big a drought cause she had four kids in a relatively short time. I don't watch their shows, and most likely never will. And on that---Happy Friday everyone......sending out big set delay vibes to Toronto.
ReplyDeleteYou're the best, audrey, just 14 more days....ohmohmohmohnsetdelaysetdelaysetdelayohmohmohn
DeleteI 100% think Dean was cheating on her, but Tori is a Spelling through and through. She knows a good story when she sees it and used it to leverage another show. When you get lemons you make lemonade.
ReplyDeleteI do think they worked out all their issues before filming and came up with their storyline as they wanted it not how it was.
I watched the first episode, Tori was clearly trying to give a performance of a lifetime. But really they both are just mediocre actors and it showed.
Wha? So we've given up on solving the Kennedy assassination and moved on to conjuring up this earth-shaking conspiracy? Oh for the love of Pete...
ReplyDeleteMy question is who would by a magazine with Tori on the cover?
ReplyDelete'Goodhand' is more like a Bond vixen's name!
ReplyDeleteTimebob - yeah, but Tori missed the bit where her Dad used to make them bona fide soaps, rather than her actual life.
These people are beyond pathetic and need to vanish.
ReplyDeleteHi to CDANers! I am ashamed to admit they fascinate me. I totally watched the show.It offended me, as a single mom, showing Tori as the scattered mom doing it all on her own when it's no secret she has 3 nannies & an assistant. Secondly, Dean comes accross as a total douche. He has in all their shows. He grosses me out. I have always gotten the impression he is a manipulator. I think he genuinely cares about Tori but loves Tori's money more (she's not broke -- I know that for a fact). The show's timeline confused me. It didn't make any sense saying he went to rehab the day after Christmas when he was in their New Year's Eve photo. He was also active on Twitter till mid January. No rehab center is going to let anyone have a cell phone. The most plausible explanation is maybe he did outpatient treatment for awhile and then the true extent of his problems was revealed or he drank or used and switched to inpatient. Also, no story is black and white. I'd be interetsed to hear Dean's POV. I do not believe for a second Tori is the perfect angel she wants us to believe she is.
ReplyDeleteemily goodhand to me is the new
ReplyDeletegeorge glass!! points if ya get it
Didn't get it, but you spurred me to Google - lol. Credit: urban dictionary. George glass, with tissues though. Obviously.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who believes anything Tori Spelling says or writes needs to have his or her head examined. She's never been anything but an absolute waste of space, not to mention being butt-ugly on top of everything else.
ReplyDeleteI will admit, I did watch this hot mess. My favorite part was when Tori went to visit Dean in rehab. Paparazzi were everywhere, pulling out a ladder to watch her over a fence, but she stopped, crouched down, and applied Lip gloss, saying something along the lines of, "I know he's an ass, but he IS my husband, and I want to look good."
ReplyDeleteShe said she's her father's daughter and knows how to write the script. Her parents did do something evil to a relative of mine that involved lying to his face so I'm not surprised that the apple... etc... (And no, it had nothing to do with show biz, oddly enough. )
ReplyDeleteWhy is she still getting a show? These people need to stop stinking up the airwaves with their manufactured for reality TV bullshit.
ReplyDeleteAll reality TV must die a swift death. Please let it be so.
@sugarbread- I appreciated your George Glass reference! Great episode when Jan makes up the boyfriend...thanks for the throwback chuckle!
ReplyDeleteThere's a sad photo of her and her 1st husband at our local Greek diner. The owner poses with any mildly well known Greek American in a forty mile radius. Her ex grew up the next town over. The photo is still up.
ReplyDeleteconcentrate on the two that are the most strong? Or in English, the two that are the strongest?
ReplyDeleteThanks to Jezebel for some real digging and journalism into this fraud. That show is a joke. Everyone knows the paps don't bother Tori, she calls them. On her show, she has them following her like she's Angelina. It's laughbable. It's wrong Lifetime didn't do due diligence with this known liar for profit. They look very bad hosting this fraud. Tori needs to find some other way to make money than peddle lies as reality. I know the Kartrashians started it and perfected it, it doesn't mean America should reward them or anyone else by peddling a fraud for their own profit.
ReplyDeleteStudio54... Take comfort that they will blow through any "reward" like a crackie winning the lottery, and still be left with waking up to those chupacabra mugs in the morning with the rest of the world disgusted with them. How in the universe do you subject children to this narrative of f*ckery?! It is just so deplorable and bankrupt in every way. Despite growing up with so much wealth and privilege, greedy snatches are nothing but low rent grifters with no game.
