Blind Items Revealed

October 11, 2013

This foreign born C+ list mostly movie actress with B list name recognition who sometimes models has a very big secret. The secret is so big that she won't even do any interviews ever for fear it will be brought up. The only time she will do any interviews is if she knows exactly the questions that will be asked and if she gets final editing just in case it is asked. It is about something that happened when she was 8. This will be revealed.

Paulina Porizkova

  2. sounds like she may have been molested. Poor kid if its that--but she went onto a successful life anyhow.

  3. Err. I don't think it had actually been revealed in any meaningful way. Although I'm not really sure I want to know what her secret is anyway.

  4. Sometimes models? Really?

    3. She was my favorite. I did a report about her in high school.

  5. But Enty, if you know what happened to her when she was 8 years okd, you should call the police!

  6. If it's such a well-guarded secret how do you know about it?

  8. Paulina is a goddess. IF she was molested, I am glad she went on to be so successful, instead of letting it destroy her.

She has always been a fave of mine.

  9. I thought she was at the center of a huge custody battle and one of her parents died before she could be reunited with them?

    Off to Wiki...

  10. --Born in Prostějov, Czechoslovakia, Porizkova was a toddler when her parents fled Czechoslovakia to Lund, Sweden to escape the 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion. She was left in the care of her grandmother.[2] Czechoslovakian authorities would not allow her parents to reclaim her, and the ensuing battle was widely publicized in the Swedish press, making Porizkova a cause célèbre.[2]

After a failed rescue attempt, in which her mother was detained by the national police, international political pressure led by Olof Palme caused the communist government to allow the Pořízek family to be reunited after seven years. Porizkova acquired Swedish citizenship.[3] The reunion was soon ended when Porizkova's father left the family, and her parents filed for divorce. Porizkova and her father have been estranged ever since.--

  13. She definitely made her fame as a model. And as I recall, she was the guess for this blind. I like her so much. I actually don't want to know her secret if it's so painful.

  15. I like her a lot she was pretty big in the 80's and married 80's rock star Rick Ocasek of The Cars.

She was also very honest what is like being an aging supermodel. She said it was like losing a super power. After she turned 40 people stopped staring at her walking down the street she felt invisible and knew her looks were going. But she doesn't define herself by her beauty either.

I hope whatever it was she is risen above it and seems to have had a happy life with her family now.

  16. I'm betting it was a bad domestic dispute

Thanks for sharing that HuffPo article. Very timely for me and my other early-40's girlfriends :)

    @IJU
She absolutely was. I remember being in high school and my friend had pictures of her taped up all over her room. At first I thought it was creepy, then we all started doing it. I thought Paulina and Linda Evangelista were perfection

    1. Oh yeah Sunny. I loved Linda Evangelista. I had her haircut when I was about 13. I was kinda obsessed with her for a while.

  21. I think Twiggy was first supermodel. I know I'm showing my age here!

  22. i doubt its molestation, not good when thats the first place we go for traumatic childhood experience. Could be she caused something bad to happen

  23. Well I remember finding out that all these people, men and women, friends, colleagues, were on anti depressants and my sister and I looked at each other and said are we the only ones not on meds yet? Maybe we should be?

Ugh, of course there is no off topic thread on the weekends. Feel free to email me if you want to chat about this

  25. This must be internEnty because Paulina's fame came from being a world class model, not an actress. Who knows her mostly for films? I mean really, Her Alibi?

    ReplyDelete
  26. She probably reported on someone to the commies in order to get reunited with her family.

  27. Here's the Paulina Porizkova story, in her own words:

  28. (And she doesn't seem too averse to giving interviews about her childhood)

  29. She always came across as snobby to me, like she was better than everyone else. Perhaps im wrong.

  30. A know at least 2 families of Czech origin who had a hell of a time getting out during the Cold War years. One family (who fortunately had no kids yet) had to literally sneak out.
I read a piece about her recently, and there was a lot of administrative back-and-forth for their family getting out, and it basically tore it apart in the end. She was even threatened with being taken away from her parents. That may have been the trauma. I certainly hope it is not molestation. I don't think Enty would put that in a reveal.
I saw a beautiful photo of she, Ric and their children.

  31. It seems ridiculous that Paulina can feel invisible. She's still a gorgeous woman.

  32. I have loved her since the first time I saw her photo in a magazine. She's lovely. I read a book she wrote years ago, too.

  33. The 80's had some great supermodels. Not so much anymore. Paulina, Cindy Crawford, Evangelista. My favorite was Gia Carangi. I just thought she was stunning.

  34. Paulina was a great judge on ANTM and I still love her line about one of the girls: "Desperation is not sexy!" I think about that line a lot when I see all the half-naked young female stars trying like mad to get attention.

  35. Paulina became a supermodel without ever smiling. Most people don't realize this and if you go back and look at her portfolio, she has very few open mouth photos. That was her look, and she got away with it for years. She was very self conscious about her teeth, and also afraid of the dentist. I think it was Ric Ocasek who finally helped her make the decision to get them fixed.

She's in the Drive video, I always thought she was perfect in that.

im retarted i read this and got partways through the comments thinking this was about paulina gretzky.

  37. I met her Mom about 10 years ago and she is a breathtakingly beautiful woman. I can't imagine what it would be like to see Paulina in person. They have the same eyes. I know a director who worked with her and he said she was wonderful to work with. That's all I have.

  38. Harlow17, please rethink your use of 'retarded'. http://theRword.org

  39. Well, that about sums it up. Never knew I'd have something in common with a super model.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It doesn't make sense that she would be afraid of interviews. Whatever happened that was covered by the media is well known. If anything else happened it's NOT known - how would an interviewer know this secret in that case? And to be honest, who cares? Shes' not exactly A list at ANYTHING anymore. And even when she was a top supermodel I don't think anybody was that interested in her personal life.

I did read a few years ago that Ric Ocasek's son from his first marriage was very physically abusive toward Paulina and she was afraid of him.

She does not have a pretty smile, even with good teeth. She is absolutely stunningly beautiful, she has beautiful bones and symmetry, everything about her is perfect, but when she opens her mouth, smiles or speaks, for some reason the beauty goes down by at least 50%.

Go ahead and google her on Google images, you'll see what I'm talking about. She's drop dead gorgeous when she's not smiling, but the minute she smiles, something happens.

  41. @Prunella

Ric was abusive toward her? I hadn't read that. Sad face.

  42. No Leekalicious! Not Ric, his son.

Thanks, what a relief. I mean, it's still awful, but Ric doesn't seem the type. Happy Face!!

  44. Just looked. Her smile looks just fine to me. She's gorgeous both ways.

There's one model who is absolutely stunning, but when she smiles and speaks...she becomes very unattractive. Her name is Fredrique or something like that. She used to be a Victoria Secrets model.
