It has been a long time since there was a multiple choice in one of the blind items. I think I have done it previously, but honestly, don't remember when. When the Tony Awards were announced, one of the names below went ballistic when they found out they had not been nominated. The person yelled at their agent and then manager and then someone very close to them and said some of the most vile things you could ever imagine. I knew they had a temper, but not like this.
Katie Holmes
Jessica Chastain
Alec Baldwin
Jim Parsons
Bette Midler
Scarlett Johansson
I know you are all thinking Alec Baldwin so you can eliminate him, because, although he might have gone crazy, he is not the one I know about for this.
Jessica Chastain
Yikes. Chastain was just cast as Marilyn in a new project. Hope she don't fuck it up.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't seem nice and I almost never see her in a photo with another person, especially male.
ReplyDeleteWell color me surprised. I thought it was Bette.
ReplyDeleteAs everyone guessed her, it's not much of a reveal.
ReplyDeleteMOAR multiple choice blinds.
ReplyDeletedidnt see the original blind, but shes the only one i would think would care so so so much. everyone else has had enough of a career/life (in holmes' case) to not worry about one award.
ReplyDeleteShe has that same bright eyed phonny smile that both JHo & Sharon Stone do.
ReplyDeleteshocked just shocked.
ReplyDeleteRed hair/fiery temper stereotype in action.
ReplyDeleteGood to here she is human- seems pretty cold and detached.
ReplyDeleteIt's all in the name, Jessica's are usually bitchy!
ReplyDeleteAlec Baldwin is the only one I could see with a bad temper...although it's already pretty bad as it is.
ReplyDeleteShe's very ambitious, but she's also a brilliant actress and must have been very disappointed her work wasn't recognized. I give her a pass on this one.
ReplyDeleteIn her Facebook account, Chastain is very very sweet and positive. So positive that I wondered if that was an act because it seems tiring to be like that all the time... however, she posts pics of herself with female and male friends (ie her bestie Jess Weixler who is in The Good Wife).. hard to tell who is the real Chastain.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many celebs actually maintain and post to their own facebook accounts. Maybe a lot but I suspect a pa or publicist is doing it so I wouldn't necessarily think it was a true representation of their personality (as may be the case with a lot of noncelebs also:))
DeleteHmm..I like most of what she does, professionally.
ReplyDeleteWhen she was cast in The Heiress, I thought it was tailor-made for a Tony. But she/the play didn't get great reviews, so I remember not being surprised when she wasn't nominated. I don't think she was being predicted. Unlike, say, Bette Midler.
ReplyDeletePeople guessed Bette…
ReplyDeleteHah, I knew the Chas was shifty!
ReplyDeleteThis disappoints me. I really like JChastity and was hoping to see her go somewhere. She was in everything that one year and now she's kind of pulled back. Maybe thinks she's over exposed? Maybe pissed off her agent after she went ballistic? Still hope she's not a flash in the pan.
ReplyDeleteI saw The Heiress and she was as empty a vessel as could be imagined. Couldn't get a ticket to see Ms. M.... wasted trip all the way around.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen her in The Help.
ReplyDeleteOddly, this makes her hotter.
ReplyDeleteWell some of the actors she has worked with seem to genuinely like her but then hey I've not interviewed everyone she has worked with. I find that even actors and actresses can't hide their true feelings even in publicity shots. She may have a dual personality.
ReplyDeleteI am inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. I think she is just very passionate about acting.
ReplyDeleteI personally do not blame if she keeps her love life low key. We see what happens to the people who don't.
Maybe we just don't hear about all the actors and actresses pissed off when they didn't win award.
ReplyDeleteTell me Fassbender wasn't majorly pissed off that Leto took most of the best supporting actor awards, punching out a wall or something.
Tina Mallete, next wrrk's Graham Norton has Fassy as a guest, maybe he can ask for an opinion of Leto...
DeleteOh, and also on the couch are James McAvoy and Hugh Jackman. So that should be fun.
Gotta watch those redheads...
ReplyDeletein hollywood you have to be demanding or else some teen will walk right in and grab that career from you. nothing surprises me here, it takes a certain type to make it a star
ReplyDeleteI saw The Heiress twice, and thought Jessica improved over time, as did her co-stars. I felt she tried very hard in the role, but was simply miscast. It just wasn't a good fit. After the play, she signed autographs and talked and joked w/fans for a long time. Even initiated conversations, versus just responding when approached. She came across as genuinely warm, funny & appreciative. I hope that's the way she really is.
ReplyDeleteHey Tina,
ReplyDeleteHere's one for you, in 2004 when Billy Murray was up for Best Actor for Lost in Translation, when he didn't win (went to Penn for Mystic River) he got up and walked out of the Oscars. He claims he was told by the organizers that he had won, when he hadn't, just to ensure his attendance.
Do people actually think she runs her Facebook account? The woman is busy as hell. I don't even have time to update statuses regularly. She seems sweet but I always thought there was something slightly phoney about her personality.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally say this, but I'm calling BS on this one--I'm sure Jessica's not a saint, and could be seriously pissed off, especially since she's so passionate about her work, but this is so completely opposite everything I've ever heard about her that I really have to question the validity of your source, Enty. Ranting and raving for a bit before calming down, sure; being a completely hateful psycho hose-beast? I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteSlim Peachy: If the Bill Murray story is true--the part about the producers telling him he'd won to get him to show up, that is--then Price Waterhouse needs to be rechecking their in-house security, because a big part of the Oscar mystique is that NO ONE knows who the winners are until the envelope is opened, and I would have thought Bill would know that. (It's not like the various MTV/People's Choice/American Music Awards/etc. etc. etc., where the people in charge clearly do know who the winners are in advance.) If he really didn't know about that, and was tricked into coming while truly believing he'd won, then I feel a bit bad for him; otherwise, though, I'm guessing that he knew no one else knew, and was just pissed/upset that he didn't win. (Heck, Bill, if it makes you feel any better, I think you should have won...)
ReplyDelete(Me too, Robin. He wuz robbed)
DeleteRobin, you're right about the secrecy thing. I worked for a Big 4 firm for 13 years and was friends with someone who was on a few award show audits - total, 100% secrecy. If the results were leaked somehow, the auditor would have major egg on its face. And Murray totally should have won.
ReplyDeletethe year jessica was nominated for zd30 she borrowed someone's 3legged handicapped dog and claimed it was hers named it chaplin and did endless heartfelt interviews about fer big heart. right after oscars someone wanted to do followup w/ her and dog but she had given it away and couldn't locate it. i have heard she was nasty as hell to her team when she did not win zd30.
ReplyDeleteOh boy. That's pretty sickening. How do you know these things, Sugarbread? Sounds like you work in the entertainment industry.?
Delete@TTM, I love watching redheads, especially the ones in glasses. Hey, it's my one (or would that be two?) fetishes.
ReplyDelete@sugarbread maker: That's simply wrong. She still has Chaplin and takes him with her even when working (like in Toronto for Crimson Peak).
