Blind Items Revealed- Kindness
December 12, 2008
#1 - This guy is an A list television star and probably B in films he has done. Probably not any higher than B list on name recognition though. Oh, he stars in one of those crime dramas. Anyway, for the past year he has just had his paychecks sent to directly to various charities in the city where he films his show.
Gary Sinise
Gary Sinise is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWay to go. I always think about how so many posters claim to know outside of his generosity he is an asshole. I wonder if it's true. Glad he donates though.
ReplyDeleteI ♥ Lieutenant Dan.
ReplyDeleteJ ' adore Gary Sinise. Loved him as Lt. Dan and Jim in Mission to Mars.

ReplyDeleteawww!
ReplyDeleteGary Sinise, I could write you a sonnet, you crime solving cherub.
ReplyDeleteLove him….he has the biggest heart
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'd hit that. Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteWow - he is awesome.
ReplyDeleteStu Redman is my valentine.
ReplyDeleteMy best friend recently revealed to me that his dad and Gary are best friends. I've known this guy for almost y ten years and not once did anyone in his family mention Gary. He is also best friends with beau bridges I believe.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome.
DeleteThat's a real-life hero. Sometimes agencies just need bucks vs hours.
ReplyDeletePlus, he's the voice of the Smithsonian Museum's Captain America exhibit in Captain America: the Winter Soldier -- and aren't you just sure that if Captain America was a real historical figure, Sinise would totally narrate his Smithsonian exhibit?
ReplyDeleteGood guy Gary. Top man.
ReplyDeleteI love Gary Sinise. He can be an asshole all he wants to people that deserve it- an unloving person would not be this giving and support our troops in such a genuine, personal way either.
ReplyDeleteSean Penn donates time, money and a probably a few punches to alot of charities. He is also a coked out woman beating / emotionally abusive dirty hooker lover and a really good actor. Reconcile that!
DeleteGary Sinise is well known for doing these things. He's very charitable and completely gives back to the community.
ReplyDeleteBeen revealed already.
ReplyDeleteThis is likely bs. His money manager would never go along with this for a couple of reasons. First off, it's nobody's business to see Sinese's actual paycheck. Second, he would have to endorse it before it could be deposited. Third, no $$$ manager alive is going to allow his client to make large regular charitable contributions without receipts, both for tax purposes and just to make sure the dough is going where it is supposed to. Wouldn't be surprised if Sinese was actually donating a good part or all of his salary, but he's not doing it by having his actual paycheck redirected.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has their good and bad sides.
ReplyDeleteHe's probably a gemini. Twins - Good and Evil. : )
ReplyDeleteLove hearing this though if it is in fact true.
Nice ! That's why you rock, Lieutenant Dan!
ReplyDeleteyeah my aunt went to prom with him, they dated in HS. she had nothing but good things to say about him

ReplyDeleteHe donated a lumpsome to my high schools performing arts center. Seems like a lovely guy.
ReplyDeleteAwww I love him! Totally believe this.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the first "Kindness" that I have read about Mr. Sinese here and elsewhere. He sounds like a really wonderful man :)
ReplyDeleteHe is amazing! What a sweet guy x
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I don't like the man's politics at all, but his support for the country's military veterans has been both substantial and real. I have to give him kudos for that, particularly since he doesn't try to play it for publicity. Also, the man's a fine, fine actor, one of the very greatest now living, IMHO. His performance some years ago in HBO's "Truman" was a stunning tour-de-force and one which few, if any actors, living or dead, could possibly match.
ReplyDelete@Robert - I also watched him in "Truman" (Truman is one of my heroes) He was close to, if not, perfection.
ReplyDeleteAs for his charity work, this is one person who puts his money where his mouth is.
Great actor, great American. The work he does for wounded veterans is just amazing. He is a special kind of Hollywood dude.
ReplyDeleteI have met him many times and been privy to some of his good works. Totally not a BS blind. He is an really generous man.
ReplyDelete@Theresa, me, too and agreed with you wholeheartedly. He's a prince among men.
DeleteIf every Republican put their money where their mouth is the way he does, I wouldn't hate the party. He's a good guy.
ReplyDeleteHarry, just because he is rich doesn't mean he doesn't have total control over his money.
ReplyDeleteMy brother is an exec at a network and also writes liner notes for some of the most famous recording artists of all time. He's made a lot of money and always dictates that any money from liner notes goes to a specific charity. I love Gary and believe every word of this.
And yes, it has been revealed before.
My dad has known him for a long time from veteran's things they do together. He says he's generous but also a jerk.
ReplyDelete@Harry I didn't presume he literally mailed his paycheque. Rather, he sends the amount of the cheques to charities.
ReplyDeleteI saw him in a play years ago, he was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard that he is an extremely generous guy.
He should have also donated a "lumpsome" to that school's English department too, geez.

ReplyDeleteNot a surprise considering all he does in his hometown and various charities.
ReplyDeleteUgh, can the politics, please. Sinise is a pretty great guy.
ReplyDeletethat was an unnecessary lil'jab there K.P.
ReplyDeleteI went to school with a girl who grew up across the street from him and his wife until postForest Gump success when he could afford to leave Pasadena. I think he is a great example of what can happen when an actor finds big sudden success at a more mature age. She said he was a very charismatic and good-natured guy who she had a crush on from a young age. He already had grown up and found himself before his career took off so I think he could appreciate it more and realize what a gift it was. He also had already settled down and earned a satisfactory living prior to Forrest Gump so I think the excessive salaries are like a bonus that he understands he doesn't need to grip tightly. Good for him.
