Blind Item #9 - 70's Hollywood
This still A list mostly television actress got the iconic role that made her A list by sleeping with the wife of a producer. The wife was convinced our actress was in love with her and the wife kept talking up the actress to her husband who finally cast our actress. The actress promptly dropped the wife and began a year long affair with the husband.
More infidelity....

ReplyDeleteWell damn Vaguey McVaguesteen
ReplyDeleteBetty White fo sho this time! :))
ReplyDeleteFarrah Fawcett and Aaron Spelling ( wife Candy)
ReplyDeleteI read this as still alive today...
DeleteJaclyn Smith? Or Victoria Principle? This is a great blind!
ReplyDeleteThese two don't work as much the past couple years. Erin Gray, Jane Seymour, or Lynda Carter
DeleteLMAO @Reno
ReplyDeleteYeah this is vague enough that it could be any of the Angels from Charlie's Angels or Lynda Carter from Wonder Woman. It really can be any TV actress from the 70's.
Mary Tyler Moore (based on absolutely nothing.)
ReplyDeleteMy first instincts were Farrah Fawcett or Lynda Carter. Gonna go with Wonder Woman.
ReplyDeleteJuicy!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say someone like Victoria Principal, Daisy Dukes., Linda Gray or Linda Evans but I do not think they are still A listers.
ReplyDeleteSusan Lucci
ReplyDeleteYou wanted to say that, sandypoopsiebooboo, but your stepdad won't let you.

ReplyDeleteMarilu Henner

ReplyDeleteDaisy Dukes
Wonder Woman
Charlie's Angels
Laverne and Shirley
Hot Lips Hoolahan

Mary Richards
Sandy, will you marry me?
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say...
ReplyDeleteLindsay Whats-her-name from the Bionic Woman.
ReplyDeleteAngie Dickenson?
ReplyDeleteBea Arthur FTW! Someone please link to the oil portrait.
ReplyDeleteMAUDE started out as a character on ALL IN THE FAMILY who would spin off to her own show.
Say it loud and proud.

ReplyDeleteLol@Queen
ReplyDeleteYou are thinking of Lindsay Wagner but I think Bionic Woman came in the 80s. Spinoff.
Sandy...
ReplyDeleteWe could make a beautiful team.
While you keep forging ahead in the comment section,
I'll cook and clean and take care of the baby.
Maybe Cloris?
ReplyDeleteBionic Woman is late 70s (1976-1978 to be exact). Is Lyndsey Wagner still considered A-list?
ReplyDeleteC'mon sandy! I need your approval!
ReplyDeleteComedy? Drama? Miniseries? Nominations?
ReplyDeleteI'd go with Farrah, overall. If the person is still living, Sally Field (Sybil) or Susan Blakely(Rich Man Poor Man)
I'm focused on Aaron and Candy. During the 70's he produced a remarkable series of hits. Leaving out the series with limited actresses - such as Starsky & Hutch, SWAT etc) and some one season shows you're left with:
ReplyDeleteMod Squad (Peggy Lipton)
The Rookies (Kate Jackson)
Family (Kristy McNichol, Meredith Baxter)
Charles Angels (Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Jacklyn Smith)
Hart to Hart (Stefanie Powers)
The problem is the definition of "still A list". Most of these ladies were once A list, probably A+, but currently (with the obvious exeption of Farrah) could be described as semi-retired.
I note that Kate Jackson sequed from one Spelling series (The Rookies) to another (Charlie's Angels). Given her internet reputation, for being difficult to work with, this seems unlikely unless she was a favorite.
Farrah was my first thought.
ReplyDeleteMeredith Baxter; FAMILY; Produced by Aaron Spelling
ReplyDeleteOoooo me likey
DeleteGuys. It was Megan Draper, remember?
ReplyDeleteCybill Shepherd always seemed to have shenanigans of some sort going, but Moonlighting was produced in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteSally Field had 2 Iconic TV roles, Gidget & The Flying Nun, and then went on to the feature film role 'Norma Rae' and won an Oscar. (Iconic?) She was my first thought, and still A-List TV & Film actress today.
ReplyDeleteKate Jackson was my first thought.
ReplyDeleteThis blind makes it sound like the hit was in the 70s, Sally Field was famous way before that.
ReplyDeleteOh, I see the lunatic's back out of the asylum. I'm outta here...
ReplyDeleteThis really does sound like Farrah Fawcett, and I suppose you could say her death make her back into A???

ReplyDeleteSounded like Farrah, except for the "still A list" part. That would imply the person is still alive, kicking, and working. Heather Locklear is 10 years too young. Lynda Carter sounds good, but it breaks my heart to think of Wonder Woman on a casting couch.
ReplyDeleteFarrah. She was only on Charlie's Angels one year.
ReplyDeleteSince it says "still A list" I'll go with Kate Jackson over Farrah.
ReplyDeleteIs Suzanne Somers still an A? She was Krissy Snow
ReplyDeleteJessica Lange, King Kong (1976)- she played the hot blonde who was kidnapped by the ape.
ReplyDeleteSilvana Mangano (wife)
Dino de Laurentiis (made ton of high profile films)
atm mostly TV (American Horror Story) previously mostly film.
For some reason I am convinced she is secretly bi/les, because of the rumors of her and Sarah Paulson, who has dated older women in the past.
Orrrr. It has to be specifically about a TV-show role (like most people guess here) and not a movie role, in that case I'll stfu xD
ReplyDeleteHmm... looking over that list of Arron Spelling shows, Family caught my eye as both lead females (Kristy McNichol & Meredith Baxter) are currently out lesbians. Of the two I'd say Meredith has the higher profile these days due to both Family and Family Ties.
ReplyDeleteFlorence Henderson. Carol Brady was such a minx!
ReplyDeleteI'd still give my right arm for a night with Lynda Carter. Sorry, Boo. That'll be my one "If I get the chance" choice. (But you're still #1 to me)

ReplyDeleteNot that many still A list tv actresses from a hit show in the 70s. Is Suzanne Summers still A list?
ReplyDeleteNot that many still A list tv actresses from a hit show in the 70s. Is Suzanne Summers still A list?
ReplyDeleteThe reason I think Sally Field is that, while she starred in comedic tv roles in the 60s, Sybil established her as a serious actress. At the time that was a difficult cross over to make, and the miniseries was an "event" dealing with mental illness and all. Ah, those pre-Lifetime days of yore
ReplyDeleteI want so badly for this to be Lynda Carter
ReplyDeleteI'm new here, do you know much about this entry person and their sources??? I've never seen so much dirt..
ReplyDeleteFarrah is FOREVER A list. Heather Locklear?
ReplyDeleteJudith Light? Was Who's The Boss in the 70s?
ReplyDeleteThis was my guess! Look at her still working on Dallas, she's SO great on it!! I was waiting to type this..
Deleteheather was 80s though
ReplyDeleteI thought Farah Faucett too, but she dropped out of Charlie's Angels after the first year, which is amazing that she is so tied with that show when Cheryl Ladd was on longer. I'm gonna go with Susan Saint James or Lynda Carter.
ReplyDeleteThe blind says still A list. The only one mentioned who this still might apply to is Susan Lucci. Or perhaps Deidre Hall? Both still A list in their TV world.
ReplyDeleteJoan Collins
ReplyDeleteI really doubt Lynda Carter. She's a staunch churchie and moralist. It's not Anderson either who is not a long-time a-lister.
ReplyDeleteMost likely Deidre Hall who has been a fiercely closeted lesbian and has been working the same job since the 70s on DOOL.
Deidre Hall is a lesbian? Really?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with Angie Dickinson.
