Well, if it's Swank, the timing works well for her career. It's been 10 years since 'Million Dollar Baby' and her name is not exactly on everyone's lips any more. Plus she has two projects coming out, one of which she is also producing.
According to IMDB, Hilary's new flick is serious Oscar bait. Quoting here:
"'You're Not You' centers on the relationship between Kate (Swank), a woman who has been immobilized by ALS - also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease – and Bec (Rossum), the aimless and self-absorbed college student she hires to be her caregiver in spite of her husband’s (Duhamel) objections. What was supposed to be a part-time job instead becomes a life-changing experience for Bec as her relationship with Kate transforms her into a young woman with newly-found confidence and ambition."
@syd i understand. it confuses me a little bit when people use multiple words to refer to (what my perspective sees as) the same thing.
also since its an intimate topic, i feel like people want to be described as accurately/correctly as possible, but it's so individual that sometimes i just dont understand all the words and meanings.
so basically, i was just confused about whether it's correct to call a female "gay."
Not Renee with those 14 day shagathons with her boyfriend... ;)
'Gay' is the umbrella term, I think, but usually defaults to meaning 'gay man', where 'lesbian' becomes a way to specify 'gay female' i.e. 'gay and lesbian' (this phrase has always seems a bit repetitious to me; do we have to call out women separately?).
I'm surprised Whoopi's not gay. She's always appeared to be so but then..Anyway.My guess Sandy. Has been with men but more as friends and not hanging out as lovers like Hilary Swank has. I'm actually kind of torn.
Kathy Bates was my first guess. One short marriage and, as a 65 year old character actress, she probably doesn't have much career risk. Best of luck to whoever it is.
You can't trust Enty's lists! I found this weird little story about Swank: http://www.justjared.com/2014/04/10/hilary-swank-joins-berenice-bejo-at-the-chopard-cocktail-party/
no idea. but good for her.
ReplyDeleteHillary swank
ReplyDeleteI like Simon's guess but I came here to say Marisa Tomei if she has ever been married, just to throw it in.

ReplyDeleteHmm, maybe Hillary, but she's had a boyfriend recently, not that that means anything.
ReplyDeleteGotta be Bates or Bullock.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was Sandra Bullock
ReplyDeleteMimi!
ReplyDeleteWhoopi Goldberg
ReplyDeleteIt could be Sandy, but what's in it for her career-wise? She's at her peak.
ReplyDeleteOh wair, thought it was married to a winner/nom

Doesn't really matter. If she's happy then it's all good.

Who's the one leaving ahs? The older one?
ReplyDeleteYou mean Jessica Lange? Now THAT would be newsworthy. She did say she wants to do one more season of AHS, then a movie, then retire.
ReplyDeleteGet off my corner.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!
DeleteIsn't Jessica lange. And Sara Paulson a thing for a while now?
ReplyDeleteoff topic, but why do people still refer to women as "gay"? wouldnt we refer to her as lesbian or homosexual? or is "gay" still the umbrella term?
ReplyDeleteJust a shot in the dark--Liza Minnelli?
ReplyDelete@T E Cuz - I prefer to be under the gay umbrella. Never have liked all the subcategories or differentiation. JMO.

Hope its sandy!
ReplyDeleteI understand your confusion, Cuz. Hell, it confuses me too! Besides, I'm more often referred to as "bitch" than gay/lesbian anyway. :P
ReplyDeleteNot Renee with those 14 day shagathons with her boyfriend... ;)

Whoopi's definitely not gay.
ReplyDeleteI like the Kathy Bates guess.

ReplyDeleteWhoopi had relationships with Ted Danson and Frank Langella. I've heard her mention that she has a man on The View.
DeleteNot that any of that means anything.
I doubt Sandy will ever come put. I like the Hilary Swank guess.
ReplyDeleteooooo lange and sarah??? shutup
ReplyDeletei like the katie bates guess
oozesssss lesbo

ReplyDeleteMary McCormack?
ReplyDeleteAmanda - Sarandon was married to actor Michael Sarandon
ReplyDeleteComing back to this hours later - Helen Hunt?
ReplyDeleteNUTTY I'd wat that swank movie but only if John Waters directs it.
ReplyDeleteSo the dude was such a bad lover that he made her gay? Great publicity.
ReplyDeleteHelen Hunt is my guess too.
ReplyDeleteSwank one 2 Oscars for basically playing dudes. I'll throw my support to her for this, though I reject the notion she is A-List. She is a B.
ReplyDeleteTilda
ReplyDeleteSandra
ReplyDeleteIs the reason people think Swank is gay, just because of her roles and appearance in them? I'm so meh on 'are they gay' things but just wondered.
ReplyDeleteI have always thought Hilary Swank and Sandra Bullock both are gay, so neither would shock me.
ReplyDeleteTilda openly lives with her husband and her boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteI'm on board with Helen Hunt. It's about time.
Tilda... huh?
DeleteKathy Bates has been quietly out for years. No one bothers her since she's not an tabloid/paparazzi target.
ReplyDeleteI really, really hope it's Sandra. She's so awesome- it would be great to have her on the team. :-)
ReplyDeleteNot Helen. No way. Maybe Hilary.
ReplyDeleteSwank.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Swank, enty called her B list in the A To D List - The Hierarchy
ReplyDeleteAngela Bassett
