I heard a guest on npr describe homophobia as 'a window in the room that is misogyny.' Pretty apt, I think. I wish I could remember who it was. His argument was basically that gay men should support feminism, as homophobia is rooted in the hatred of that which is considered feminine.
LetLoveRule, that is very true. Most, if not all, of my gay friends are very supportive of feminism, religious freedom, and many other rights that people need to live in peace and fulfillment. Discrimination in any form is unwarranted. It's about Love, not fear.
True story: Some years back, my partner and I went to a friend's house for card night... We looked through the window by the door, and saw what we thought was our friend Kitty, facing the sink washing up one of her kids. We both said at the same time, "wow, Kitty's lost some serious weight...she actually looks good in those tights ..." no sooner were the words out of our mouths when the person at the sink turned around and it was her gay roommate, wearing her tights. We lost it.
Wait a minute @Merlin... you BOTH, independently said "wow, Kitty's lost some serious weight...she actually looks good in those tights ..." at the same time? And why was her gay roommate wearing the tights? And are you insinuating that gay guys are into crossdressing? More 'splainin needed or I call BS!
Uninvited touching?
ReplyDeleteI hate when I mistake yoga pants for a woman. Hate it!
ReplyDeleteLol Rhysie!
Delete@Rhysie- I try not to force society's ideas of gender on my pants. I tell them I'll love them no matter what they are
