Today's Blind Items - The Child Isn't His
There are not that many guys who would do what this man did but he has stuck it out so hopefully good things will happen to him. He is married. His wife is an entertainer. She used to be almost A list. Foreign born. Can be a bit controversial at times. She has been in this space before for her drug use. Oh, and her drinking problem. She has had some issues in the past and had gone a long way in getting on the right track. All that has gone out the window now but that is not what this blind is about. It turns out that even though she was dating her husband she was also having sex with another guy. Maybe two other guys although if he was around it was probably just a weekend thing. Anyway, our entertainer found herself in the family way. Her now husband was convinced it was his child. After the child was born there were some questions but he was patient and decided to wait to see how the child looked as the child aged. Yeah, things were pretty obvious at one point so he confronted his wife who agreed it might be the child of someone else. A DNA test was performed and it is not the husband's child but he did adopt the child with the blessing of the real dad who who was grateful because he was married when he got the entertainer pregnant. He subsequently has ended his marriage because of other infidelities.
I'd say Bloom and Kerr but Flinkerbloom looks just like Orly.

I don't think anybody bothered to get married in the 70's rock world but this blind mirrors the Todd Rundgren/Bebe Buell/Steve Tyler situation that produced Liv Tyler (who was Liv Rundgren for the 1st 15 years of her life).

ReplyDeleteI have an uncle who was in the milatary, he's doubtful his 2nd child is his, the timing doesn't work out because he was deployed, others at the base told him a friend of his was always at their house, the girl looks nothing like him or his side of the family, when they divorced, he still kept quite & was awarded custoudy of the kids, his ex, their mom showed up a few years later & kidnapped the kids...he didn't see them for years...

ReplyDeleteLiv Rudgren was watching an Aerosmith concert from the side of the stage with Steve Tyler's acknowledged daughter (who Liv thought was a friend, not family) and they both started to notice a resemblance to each other & to the guy carrying the microphone. So the kids started questioning their parents & Liv Rudgren found out she was Liv Tyler. She still considers Todd Rundgren as a dad.
ReplyDelete@skimpymist-this was back in the 80's, after trying to find them for years, his ex wife/the kids mom contacted him, telling him if he wanted to see the 2 kids again he would have to sign over custody, this woman has never gone to jail for what she's done, he signed over custody, moved his current wife & family cross country down to Florida, to live near where his ex-wife was with the kids. His son with his ex-wife looks completely like him, but not the daughter. The kids are adults now, and they know more about what their mom has done, but I don't believe either of them know that my uncle is most likely not the dad of the girl. He's never had a DNA test done. After my uncle was out of the military he was a pilot for one of the large commercial airlines, retired from it, & is now a freelance artist.

DeleteIf a child is born in marriage and is accepted and raised for years. The child is yours regardless. You don't need to adopt it. Many a men in 'Murica are paying child support for children that aren't theirs even with DNA testing. You are the father.

Timebob: I think the law is if you are married and sign the birth certificate, then you are stuck with the bogus kid. And yes, there is no need to adopt.
DeleteIn such a situation you cannot sue the mother for fraud, but I wonder if Fugazi Dad could sue Bio Dad for support, if the guy is known. Bio dad's always have to pay if found. Would be interesting to see such a case.

ReplyDeleteWith the advent and acceptance of DNA testing it is now the case in a few states that a married man has a limited period of time (under a year?) to determine thru accepted tests if a child born to his wife isn't his. If the tests come back negative he can legally petition to have his name removed from the BC and not pay support.
ReplyDeleteI have a male family member in another state who was in this situation and was advised of his rights. I guess it varies widely from state to state.
DNA testing has really thrown a hole in this legal area. Family law is slow to change, but it is changing with repeated challenges from testing.
Paulina Rubio has never been A list.
ReplyDeleteThe first people I thought of were Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Harry being the child. I know the dating timing doesn't work, but was the first thing that came to mind...plus her butler wasn't married (I don't think)...oh well.
ReplyDeleteOT: Completely random question: what does Enty mean with foreign born? Just born in another country or also raised there? Because for example Mila Kunis is officially born in a foreign country, but labeled 'not foreign' by Enty. Other way around is Nicole Kidman: born in USA, but raised in Australia.. Also labeled 'not foreign' by Enty. Makes me think born and raised in foreign country qualifies as 'foreign'? If either things is USA (born OR raised) the celeb is automatically not foreign?
ReplyDeleteTo clarify above statement: Mila Kunis may have been foreign born, but was raised in US (most of her younger years). So in that case 'not foreign' by my criteria above.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there the "dna tests mandatory" conversation a week or so ago. Would save a lot of fucked up situations. Fathers of the world unite and ask, in unison,"Are these really my shitty kids?"
ReplyDeleteI work in child support in CA. If there's a marriage and the mom names another man as the father we have to get a DNA test with the husband as there's marital presumption. Then we do a DNA test with the named father Sometimes that comes back as negative too

Lily Allen's first daughter has bright ginger hair, quite like her husband's, so I don't think this is her. I really hope it's not her.
