The Strangest Two Minute Conversation With Paula Patton At Vanity Fair Party
The only spy I had at the Vanity Fair party is someone I have known for a very long time and has been providing information to the site since almost day one. She didn't know Paula Patton would be at the party. She only recognized her because she looked at faces from the party last year and knew who she was. She says that Paula was on her phone the entire time. Literally did not stop looking down at it every few seconds and then every few minutes furiously typing away. She flitted from group to group and knew some people there but it was awkward for everyone. No one knew what to say and she was involved in very brief hellos or hugs and air kisses but there was nothing to say to her. My spy went up to her and tried to start a conversation about the movie Paula did earlier this year but Paula would just stare down at her phone and then try and remember the question. The spy started talking about New York and Paula started talking about pizza and then looked down at her phone again and apparently got a message because she said she had to write back and started texting like crazy and then when Paula looked up my spy expected Paula to finish where she left off but complimented my spy on a role she had a long time ago and then started talking about high school and pizza and walked away.
