L'Wren Scott Commits Suicide

L'Wren Scott, the girlfriend of Mick Jagger has reportedly killed herself and her body was found in her Manhattan apartment this morning.

    So terribly sad. Yet, curious. She seemed to "have it all." Not that it means that she had a perfect life, but something had to be bothering her.

    Not sure why, but this quote is the first one that jumps out at me after hearing she committed suicide. In reference to stars and celebrities & how 'she found out that things are not always as they seem.'

    Wow. I just checked her Wiki to find her age (47). I figure pill OD. She hung herself, from a doorknob, with a scarf. That is certainly committing to a cause, when you can stand up and walk away if you have second thoughts.

    I actually gasped when I scrolled down to see this. That poor woman. I can only imagine what she was going through. I wish she'd been able to see her way to getting help. I feel more for those she left behind, though.

    And I hope this could help Mick Jagger get some therapy to live his life in a less selfish manner.

    Someone who takes their own life is struggling with a lot more than just simple relationship issues. As well, you never know if the issues they are struggling with (usually major depression or other mental illness) are contributing to the relationship problems, simply by neither side knowing how to handle it.

    Every time something like this happens, people look at those left behind and thing "why didn't you do something?" but I'm sure they are asking the same of themselves. Hindsight is 20/20. It's easier to judge when you're not in that position.

    Had a friend take her life about 5 years ago now, and I still think about her and think "I should have just called her, why didn't I call her? Why didn't I check in more often?" And I was living on the other side of the world at the time. It's hard, you realize afterwards what you could have done differently but at the time you don't see it.

    I actually gasped when I saw this too Disco. So very sad and tragic and no, it wasn't Mick's fault. Everyone knows he has no qualms about cheating. And maybe she didn't care about that anyway. Gawd I feel so badly about this for some reason. She was such a talented lady.
    Like Alexander McQueen-another amazing designer who took his life. They've deprived the world of the beauty they could create but it was too hard for them to stay.

    May she find the peace she was so desperately hoping to find.

      @Amartel: you do not need a drop to successfully hang yourself but it I is usually helpful. You actually don't need any drop. Inmates and mental patients can just tie a towel to a door knob or bed frame and lean into it. All that matters is that there's enough pressure to stop oxygen from getting to your brain.

    @Eros: I don't know. I would figure it has to do with muscles either reflexively contracting or relaxing.

    The only thing I've heard with reflex action is if gagged during anal, the sphincter muscles will contract. I guess that is the body's defense against shitting yourself while vomiting. Never tried it though, because I never had sex with a chick crazy enough to say yes, or that I hated enough not to ask.

    I was a big follower of her Instagram account. It was exceptional. She posted pics of her in !Mississippi, India and Barbados with him in the last few months. On January 15th after posting several times. A Day she stopped. I think her staff did her twitter. Take a look at her Instagram. What an eye she had for beauty!

    I'll never understand what drives someone to do something like this.

    I went to high school with Ricky Berry, I didn't know him personally, but I went the basketball games and he was so good. He made the NBA. He had everything he thought he wanted. Then he shot himself after an argument with his wife.

    There's so much more going on there than we know. Ricky killed himself, L'Wren killed herself. The other people may have been excuses, but there was a lot more going on than any of us will ever know or understand.

    Very sad. She was very talented, her gowns and dresses were very feminine and beautiful.

    Large debts are nothing strange in the fashion world, many a small or mid-scale designer has had to close up shop due to money troubles. Its not unusual to see them re-open a few years later with new backing - Mizrahi comes to mind. It seems a bit extreme to take your life over it, but then who knows her state of mind. I'm sure we'll hear more in the coming weeks.

    It is all a bit reminiscent of Hutchence - the scarf on the doorknob, etc. I wonder if she left a note.

    Re Enty and recent blinds: there was plenty of chatter about Scott after she cancelled her LFW show and her absence from Jade Jagger's (and daughters) baby shower over the wkend. Nothing an alert blind gossip blogger wouldn't pick up on. I wouldn't assume they (Entys) had an inside track on info here.

    I have a dear friend in a depressive episode at the moment. She is pregnant & can only take a certain anti-depressant. I text her, but not too much, as I don't want her to feel pressured. She knows I am here & would go to her if she needed me at the drop of a hat. She has survived numerous self-harm attempts & I am so grateful that she is still here & didn't succeed. For anyone who is having dark thoughts, please get help.

    My friends husband had a degenerative disease, didn't want to die from it and committed suicide. He called his uncle and cousin to come over and killed himself after the call.
    Headrot, I echo other peoples advice. Please don't even contemplate taking your life. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

    I have always loved Jagger since I was a child. But let's face it, he doesn't have to be faithful to anyone. He can be the 'dog' he is and date whomever he wants, but just know, if he dates you, he will not be faithful.

    @headrot I posted in the other L'Wren thread, a long post, to try to help. I do know what it's like, bc when I was drinking, I made two serious attempts. One of them landed me on a ventilator, so please don't tell me what I know. It wasn't fun. My throat hurt like shit after. Right now you are angry at the people who are trying to help you. You need to get angry at the alcohol/drugs that are making your life miserable. You need to think about things that will replace the drinking/drugs. You will find that the only thing you had in common with friends at the bar, or your dealer, was the alcohol or drugs. Take your life and sobriety back - one drink or hit at a time if you have to, and give the finger to the substances and people who have caused the pain. People will envy you because you've been able to quit. Some will be pissed off. The people who love you will be so very glad to have you back.

    @Headrot I do get it now, slow as I am. You were telling me to try harder next time to off myself. I don't think it will happen to me again, because now that I'm clean and sober, I can see with clear eyes what is happening around me. I can see who my friends are and who is using me.

    She's been like two different people lately - sweet one minute, then striking out at someone nice like you, fancy, and all the others who tried to help, for no apparent reason. If it actually was headrot, the hateful stuff is when she's drinking or using. The nice part is headrot sober. Or, as fancy suggests, it's a fake headrot (which I hope). We may never know, because she doesn't read the group all the time.
