Dave Brockie, AKA Oderus Urungus Has Died

Dave Brockie, better known as Oderus Urungus, the founder and lead singer of renowned metal band GWAR, has died. Roommates reportedly found Brockie's body at his home Sunday evening. He was 50.

  8. Rest in Peace. Fifty is too young. Hope it was sudden and painless. I've heard them on the radio, but until I Wiki'd I didn't know about their theatre, clever names, and costumes. Brilliant! (Maximus Pustulus, Oderus Urungus).

  10. One of my best concerts EVER. Not even a metal fan, got dragged by friends. Walked in with a white tshirt, walked out with it red and my mind blown. Changed my perspective on rock shows forever. RIP

  13. Well I just educated myself. Someone was/is very creative with their costumes.

    Wow is all I can say. Not a metal fan but sounds like someone enjoyed the shows.

    And yes B Smears/Bee Haven/Rach Around and maybe that other one will be upset.

  15. I worked at a concert venue back in college. Next to ICP, GWAR was the strangest show I'd witnessed, but the fans were so absolutely in love with them. Sad to hear someone died so young.
