Chris Pine Pleads Guilty To DUI

Today in New Zealand Chris Pine pleaded guilty to DUI and had his drivers license suspended in that country for six months. Considering he is probably not going to be in New Zealand for the next six months and suffered no other punishment I would say he got off pretty well. his lawyer said Chris was in danger of losing contracts and had suffered negative publicity. People talked about it then and will today but he didn't lose any contracts and I doubt anyone will remember he got a DUI a few months from now. It takes a whole lot more than a DUI to really get people talking negatively. Now, if he got five or six of them in a couple of year period or had injured or killed someone it would obviously be different. I know the penalty was small but at least he pleaded guilty to it and didn't try and say he didn't do it or have a trial just because he could afford it.

  2. He dodged a bullet, hopefully he really did learn his lesson and hires drivers from now on if he wants to overindulge.

  3. I have to say I am a little concerned about Mr. Pine. He looked like a coked-out sweaty bloated mess in the last Star Trek movie and now the DUI.

  4. I agree with Bacon Ranch on this one. There's a big difference between a first drunk driving conviction and a second drunk driving conviction. DWI is never acceptable, but if you do it more than once, you clearly haven't learned your lesson and really deserve to have them throw the book at you.

  5. I need some clarity on the NZ court decision - did they suspend his driving privilege on Enterprise NX-01?

  8. Good for him that he manned up, unlike certain ones who try to weasel out of it.

  9. I guess the lesson here is to make sure you get your DUI in a country you don't frequent too much.
