It has been almost two weeks but the news finally trickled back from New Zealand that Chris Pine was arrested there on March 1st for DUI. The actor was with his girlfriend, after celebrating at the wrap party for his just completed film Z For Zachariah which sounds a lot like I missed the first 25 movies of this alphabet series. It really sounds like a bad idea to be drunk and driving on a side of the road you normally don't drive on in a country for a very low tolerance of drunk driving. It is a good way to get stopped from going into New Zealand the next time you want to film there too. Chris is scheduled to appear in court on St. Patrick's Day.

ReplyDeleteOw S! I'm pretty sure most countries don't want you on the road if you've been drinking no matter which side they choose to drive on.
ReplyDeleteI thought NZ has zero tolerance ie 0 blood alcohol but apparently it is .08 as in most areas of North America except Ontario if you blow over .05 but under .08 they can issue a roadside suspension for 24 hours the first time, longer suspensions if you've been caught before. Australia has .05 as the legal limit. Vietnam has no limit - no wonder the traffic is so wild there.
