Blind Items Revealed- Kindness

December 3, 2013

About six weeks ago there was a very tragic accident at a church festival where an out of control car knocked over a bunch of kids, killing one of them and injuring a load of others. The girl who was killed had just moved to New York with her family from Ireland, her sister was also critically injured in the accident. Anyway to make a long story short, there is going to be a big benefit for the family to defray medical expenses for the surviving daughter. Most of the money at the benefit is coming from one B+ list mostly movie actress who has donated tons of her clothes, bags and shoes and anything else she can think of to raise money. She gets a lot of flack from people, but she is doing a good thing here.

Sarah Jessica Parker

  2. Did she feel guilty cuz her husband killed a family in Ireland?

  3. @Ware I never knew that---just googled it. That is sad. That is very nice of Sarah though. God knows she has enough clothes. I saw a video of her Manhattan Brownstown and the interior is so gaudy. You would not think she had much wealth either.

  4. So, she wants people to buy her ugly couture clothes (that she probably got for free) and then she'll give that money to charity? Write a freaking check and give that crap to Goodwill.

  5. I really like her as person and actress. I dont care if husband gay, i hate the flack she takes for being " ugly"-NONE of that has anything to do with her as an actress. And its mean.

    1. Just to clarify, i dont know or care if husband is or isnt gay, and i dont think shes ugly. Shes like most of us, makes best of her feartures and looks attractive.

  6. I'd think she'd be higher up on The List than B+ SATC is still big.

  7. @auntliddy---she was voted by readers of some mans magazine as the ugliest female celebrity. That outta knock the ol' ego! Women seem to like her. She is a sex symbol in China of all places and young women worship her there and think she is Marilyn Monroe...

    1. Dereck-obviously there shouldnt even be a poll like that. Its hurtful and just plain mean. And I wonder: how do these men think they look to women? So great they can act like jackasses?

    2. Exactly! Totally agree with you

  8. Good for SJP.

  9. I've read that she was raised very poor. I don't think she was stylish until SATC. She doesn't dress herself or her kids well on her own. If it weren't for Patricia Fields and designers giving her stuff I don't think she'd buy expensive clothes on her own. She's doing a good thing for the family.

    1. It must have been very early. She started in TV at a fairly early age.

    2. @califblondy This is true. I watched her ep of Inside The Actors Studio and she has 7 siblings. She was trained as a singer and was a gifted ballet dancer as a child. Her mother saved and saved to move the family from Ohio to NJ so she could be closer to a ballet academy in NY that was accepted into. She eventually managed to get some small roles on Broadway as a child (The Sound of Music & Annie) and her career stemmed from there.

She was very sweet about how grateful she was to her mother for sacrificing so much for her children and being supportive of her dream to be a performer and credits her for all her success. I completely changed my opinion on SJP after seeing this. She was very gracious and a lot more humble than I expected her to be.

  11. I have no opinion on SJP (except for the person who said she looks like a poodle - she totally does!), but she's married to Ferris Bueller, a man I have adored since Brighton Beach. Glad to hear she did a nice thing.

  12. @TTM the kindness blind comments have come quite feisty though! She is not famous enough, she is not kind enough etc etc lolll

  15. Warecat, there's no way SJP would be paying the karma bill for that car accident, not only was it her hubs, not her, he was dating Jennifer Grey at that time.

  17. Thanks for saving me a Google search TTM. When Warecat brought that up I remembered this accident BUT did not know it was before her relationship.

Pat on the back to SJP for her giving and helping.

  18. Jesus Christ, I too of course thought first of the Irish people Broderick killed. I mean great for Sarah Jessica Parker for doing this but come on, this also has a very definite CREEPY element to it.

  19. I have been a fan of SJP since Square Pegs but I never watched SATC.

Matthew Broderick was dating Jennifer Grey at the time of that car accident, Sarah does not deserve to be painted with that in any way.

  20. This doesn't surprise me. SJP was taking care of RDJ when he was spiraling out of control. She was with him when Matthew was involved in that crash.

  21. Omfg. Someone does a nice thing and it's just not good enough. Or it's to try to offset karma that has nothing to do with said person. If he had just written a cheque she'd be criticized for blowing it off or not getting involved enough. Everyones kindness looks different. The fact that she is doing something kind is more than most other people can say of their own selves.

    1. Apparently she had the nerve to spend a lot of time and money to help a lot of people! I know, right??

    2. Might also have to do with people ok being mean as SJPD is not a standard Hollywood beauty so they take potshots. Sad. I like her

  23. Is she going to donate those fugly stirrup tights? That's cruelty, not kindness.

  26. I will forever love SJP.

  27. With these reveals, I'm starting to get why I never guess then right. SJP got famous on Square Pegs and had a huge smash hit with SATC - I would not consider her "mostly movies".

And I don't get the hate for her about this, it's a very nice thing she did - good for her!

  28. Why would this have anything to do with the crash, especially as she was with Robert Downey Jr at the time? She comes on holiday to Ireland every year so it's possible that could've been a motivation, or she was just being nice.

With regard to Broderick, yes he did get off lightly, his own injuries aside. And it would've been nice to have met with the Gallagher family before now. Having said that, I don't think that it is as cut and dried as Ware and others are making out.

I'm quite familiar with those roads east of Enniskillen and I find them very windy, and I'm from a very rural area where many of the roads are very twisty and only one car wide.

Also it really isn't that unusual for North American and European tourists to temporarily forget which side of the road they are meant to be on. - I see/hear of at least one incident every year in my area.

It was only from about 1989 that the signage to remind visitors to drive on the correct side of the road came about.

  29. HOLY FUCK!!!
It was a god damn joke!
    Yeezus!
    Rough crowd today.

  30. Fair enough WareCat, my apologies for taking youR comments the wrong way. In my defense I have seen some thick as pig manure comments on that crash, mainly from people who have never been here, much less driven on the roads.

This type of crash does still happen, but the safety on modern cars are far more advanced than in 1987, even for historically good cars like Volvos and Beemers (the car makes involved). The two women who died were incredibly unlucky as the Volvos would've been one of the most robust family cars around at the time - although airbags were not mandatory for over a decade later. (Unfortunately the published Euro NCAP results only go back to the 1998 models so a real comparison can't be made)

Broderick should still meet with the Gallagher family though.

    1. No apologies needed, AIP!
      Tis my fault.
      My humor is rather dark.
I constantly need to remind myself that not everyone gets that I'm just joshing around.

  31. AIP, has the Gallagher family asked to meet with him? Is this a thing, 27 years later?

    ReplyDelete
  32. never understood the haters for her

    I like her......

  33. Hey Sprink. Yes he was asked- and had said he would- as far back as the early 90s and as recently as a few years ago. He's in Donegal most years and Enniskillen is only about 100km away (albeit on not great roads for most of it). Personally, I like him and I certainly don't think ill of him over what was by all accounts a tragic accident, but I don't have any respect for him not following through.

SJP I like well enough, but I thiought she came across as a bit of a twit in her episode of Who Do You Think You Are? The rip dose was short enough without her using up a third of the dialogue to shout "oh my god!" "Oh wow!" Every three bloody seconds. Other celebs had family on the Mayflower too and they had more interesting things to say about it. On the other hand Broderick came across as being almost fragile, but intelligent enough.

  34. I've heard ppl say she was fake and bitchy, but I always thought most ppl knew Sarah Jessica Horseface was also pretty kind about giving. I think she's done a good bit of off the books charity.
