Blind Item #8

This bracket bust of a team had an early exit. A very early exit. I wonder if it has anything to do with their star player staying out late the night before the game with his soon to be signed agent and the agent's female friends who spent some alone time with the future NBA pick. The drinking probably didn't help. Apparently the missed curfew violation was overlooked too.

  7. I'm leading my bracket pool and in ESPN that same bracket is in the top .1% of all their entries (which means 5989).

  9. Absolutely Duke and Parker. Sports shows the next day saying that if that is Parker's A-game, he needs another year in school.

If he screws up that bad when trying to showcase himself for the draft, whats he going to be like when he gets a fat contract and is traveling the country night in and night out, playing on a horrible team?

  11. Who is this Jabba The Duke? Is he the Brian Boitano of college basketball?

  12. That ought to be fun. San Diego should bring in a lot of their fans and so should Arizona.

  13. Uh not really Kristin he didn't win anything and disappeared all game long. Unlike Mr. Boitano.

  23. To our readers abroad: March Madness is a college basketball tournament, it all happens in march. It's pretty intense and there's lots of games everyday.
Many people who follow the games write their brackets guessing how the matches will end and which universities will be on the Final Four.

    1. @runswithscissors thanks for the explanation. I thought I had entered some weird alternative universe although I am still none the wiser what all this brackets stuff means. Give me some premiership football with 3 points for a win and a bit of goal difference and I'm sorted. Go Liverpool!

  24. @Violet, I'm American and I still don't get it, but I think it goes something like this.

Following the preliminary group stages, the evening gown stage, and the final lightening death match, one team will triumph. The school that wins the Mad March pageant sash takes over the presidency for the next 5 years. The losing teams are sent to Cleveland. God bless the USA.

Did I get it right, Count? Sandy?

  37. It's Wiggins. I don't see Coach K ignoring a curfew violation. He wouldn't announce it but he'd deal with it. Plus they're basically joined at the hip when they travel during the Tournament
