Blind Item #7
This former A list model has never recovered from her pregnancy acne. The scarring on her face has kept her from getting any modeling work and she has spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it but even laser peels have failed to do the job.
Helena Christensen
ReplyDeleteMiranda?
ReplyDeleteAgree with Lady H
ReplyDeleteYeah...but she got to sleep with Daryl. He's so dirty sexy.
ReplyDeleteHelena works All The Time in Scandinavia, despite being well over 40. She is everywhere, and has several exclusive contracts. I've also seen her walking around Copenhagen, and while she is mousy and not all that impressive in person, she's not severely acne-scarred. Not her.
ReplyDeletePregnancy acne?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. Haven't had the opportunity to have a child yet. Doesn't sound like an added benefit.
DeleteHaha don't be alarmed,I never got pregnancy acne in any of my pregnancies and I don't know anyone else that got it either.
DeleteI never got it either. In fact, my skin got more dry.
DeleteKate Moss. She's always had fairly poor skin (you know, albeit relative to the ugly people out there).
ReplyDeleteHer kid is almost a teenager. I think Kate has worked a bit since being pregnant.
DeleteWhen someone is pregnant, hormones go crazy, and sometimes (often) acne results. I had it horribly on my back, but it is possible to get it anywhere. It is like PMS in overdrive.
ReplyDeleteDon't we live in a world where Photoshop exists? You've all seen what can be done to a Kardashian (Photoshop level: expert). Why can't they fix up a few spots on her face? This sounds suspiciously weak.
ReplyDeleteI wish our Danish exchange reader @Sven of Elven were here to help settle this Christensen bizness.
ReplyDeleteKate Moss made the list..

Yes, where is Sven today?
ReplyDeleteNot Giselle. Giselle had the most perfect pregnancies ever, and anyone else failed in comparison (at least according to her).
ReplyDeleteWhats wrong with acne scars? If they can cover tattoos, why not acne scars? I have some pretty bad acne scars but the only person that ever seemed to care was ME. Nobody really notices. I would like one on my nose removed, but otherwise I'm good. It's the oily skin that I hate!
ReplyDeleteis that what we are calling "Meth Face" these days? Pregnancy acne...girl please! Shooting a side eye at you Kate
ReplyDeleteKels I have a hug acne scar on my nose too. Right in the middle, a big pit. I was called Witchy Poo in the 10th grade because of the huge pimple you could see from space.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for anyone with bad skin. It's very traumatic.
oily skin works out later in life (less to no wrinkles)
ReplyDeleteCollagen can fill out acne scars, but that is only temporary until the fat absorbs into your body. Peels only go so far with the skin.
Whoever this is needs a better better dermatologist and not listen to people who work in spas.
I feel for anyone with bad skin, esp on your face. Its the first thing people see and there is no way to hide it.
ReplyDeleteI am trying sooo hard not to comment.....
ReplyDeleteOff topic alert (re/skin)
A reader here turned me on to Paula's Choice. Their skin balancing line is incredible, and I just added the vitamin c serum. I had moderate acne when I was younger, oily skin and prone to blackheads on my nose (sorry for the visual). My skin looks so beautiful now, and I never thought I would say that.
I had it bad as a teen. Now Retin A is my BFF. I feel for those who have it too.
ReplyDeleteHelena is a great guess. Kate and Giselle are still the worlds top models with no problem booking jobs.
ReplyDeleteYou mean a model has a human imperfection? No. Just no.
ReplyDeleteFor severe acne scarring google 'collagen induction therapy' or 'meso needling' - you can thank me later! X
ReplyDeleteAdriana Lima
ReplyDelete@Violet all things being relative, Kate Moss is really not a very attractive girl.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has a pretty bad case of post-pregnancy acne. She's about to switch from Mirena to O-ring to see if added estrogen will help.
ReplyDeleteI call bullshit. I'm a makeup artist and can cover anything, and even if i couldn't: Photoshop.
ReplyDeleteNikki Taylor? Just because.
ReplyDeleteAfter my first pregnancy I had acne on my back that was so severe I ended up going on Tetracyclene to clear it up.
ReplyDeleteI stood in the taxi line outside Penn Station right behind Cristy Turlington a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteAll of the beauty was there (great bones) but I was shocked at the angry patches of acne on both cheeks.
She seemed sweet, and surprisingly approachable. I think she was taking classes at NYU at the time.
She's married to Edward Burns now, so I don't know if that means she needs to work or not.
Feed Watcher, I don't mean to contradict but she seems to be photographed a lot looking naturally gorgeous. Maybe it was a reaction or break out? I have no guesses but I'm thinking it's more of a Victoria's Secret model than a Super.
ReplyDelete@Laura - before your daughter starts on the ring she should read the article at vanity fair (there's a few). I've just stopped.

ReplyDelete@aemish--thanks for that link. I particularly enjoyed the inadvertent (Freudian?) reference to Catherine ZITa Jones...
ReplyDeleteI got some adult acne on my cheeks and chin a few yrs back. Lasering and Retin A helped, but I still have this light sand papering texture on about a 2 inch square left, both sides. What hides that??? I sure don't know. It drives me crazy, no one else seems to ever notice it.
ReplyDeleteI agree this is Turlington, Btw
ReplyDelete@Di
ReplyDeleteI am subscribed to this thread :) Did you do the IPL laser? My friend just did that for uneven skin tone/sun damage and freckles. I think for acne scarring (same boat, baby) they recommend Fraxel treatments
