Blind Item #5

"Fine. The you can just go wait back in the trailer and your sister will be a star."- B- list mostly television actress with A list name recognition who was shooting a commercial with some of her kids. Apparently one of the kids was upset about something and crying so she was banned from the shoot by her mom while another kid got to stay.

  3. Ya know, it sounds awful but I think all mothers can admit we've said some bad things when up to our ears with exacerbation.

    1. @msgirl. You did not want to hear last night at the Y when my 4 1/2 year old decided she didn't want to take her swimming lesson (which she's been taking for 18 months) and then *had* to go potty twice in half-an-hour.

  7. Well if the kid is being a brat, good for her.

  8. My children are adults, but I'm pretty sure I said meaner things than this when they threw tantrums in public. Sh!t happens when you're raising children. Whoever this mother is, I am not scandalized by this blind.

I'm liking the MJH or Toris guesses they both use their kids.

  12. Sabrina would never do such a thing!

  13. Sabrina would, but she's got three boys, no girls.

  16. this is sad, because i glossed over everything and just saw "your sister will be a star," and immediately went to Angelina Jolie - whom I love - and who doesn't fit this blind...other than that, no guesses! lol

  22. Tori? I wish there was an easy link to the list so I'd know if she's down as actress or reality.

  23. kate's not an actress. i say spelling.

  24. Tori, but it's an empty threat. Tori's whole career is built on shoving those kids in front of the camera. If any of them ever refused, Tori might take the, "Okay, fine, you don't get to be on TV!" route at first, but soon would be begging them to change their minds.

  26. My first thought was Alyson Hannigan, but I love her, so I don't want her to be snarky. I don't think it was abusive, but it was definitely snarky.

  27. Kelly Ripa - are those her kids with her in those GE(?) appliance commercials?

  28. Normal parents snap at their kids. Telling one that she won't be a star and her sister will is creepy.

I'm thinking Kelly Ripa too. Between Jif, Colgate, and kitchen appliances, I'm sure there is another commercial in the works.

  30. Can't be Kelly Ripa because the blind mentions two daughters (one girl crying, and her sister "being a star"). Kelly only has one daughter.

  31. Not sure who it is, but using 'not being a star' as the consequence is a lot different than 'you'll be hungry later'. If kids really are into an activity they don't usually refuse like that.

  32. I think this is Angelina Jolie for Malificent. I read an article where she said one of the boys -I think Knox but I'm not sure - was terrified of her with the make up on. Vivienne didn't mind so much and is in the movie.

  35. It's not Kate or Tori either. It's a B- ACTRESS, not reality star.

  36. One time my mom said I needed to settle down and pay attention at church. Someone mentioned ice cream. I can't remember if I brought it up as a bribe, which would not have been like me, or if she brought it up as incentive, which would not have been like her. Anyway, I thought I settled down. But we drove home after church, and after I got out of the car first, mom backed up again, leaving me there, alone, and 45 minutes later came back with my 3 siblings and all had had ice cream but me. Small thing, shouldn't have scarred me, but 39 years later I still remember the whaaaat? of watching the car pull away and not knowing what was going on, and sitting on the back step waiting for someone to come back. (I should have gone off somewhere, to a nearby playground or somewhere for a few hours, and scared them by not being there when they came back, but I was not supposed to play in my good clothes, so I just waited.)

So anyway, if the sister really does become the star, the one banished to the trailer will rue the day forever. Give the child a chance to take a break, and then to come back without recriminations. Kids are kids, not professionals.

  37. @WUWT? WUWT?, that was a very passive-aggressive way of punishing a small child. You had the promise (you thought) of ice cream, being left (the worst thing), being left out, and being embarrassed in front of your siblings. Sad face for you and huggies. I totally agree with you that the child just needed a break.
