Blind Item #2
This A+ list celebrity/singer not named Rihanna is about to have a serious PR problem. Apparently there is a phone recording of her booking agent turning down $250K for a 30 minute show for a charity which is what Beyonce was offered and who is doing it for free. The booking agent can be heard saying that he just got off the phone with the A+ lister and that she won't play for less than $2M. He then used a bunch of derogatory terms for the mentally challenged people that the show is for and said they cost extra.

ReplyDeleteBooking agents sometimes do get a cut (depends on the contract) but if the celeb (or her managers/people) found out they turned down a potentially worthy opportunity (either financially or PR-wise), said booking agent would be find booking rooms at the Motel 6 for Hulk Hogan's daughter as their next career step.

Celebrities typically do have a booking fee and charities know it -- Enty on many occasions has acted outraged about that status quo. So without hearing this it's impossible to know whether (1) the celebrity's rate is anything out of line for this and (2) whether the agent was really fucking stupid enough to make slurs about a mentally challenged group of people or was cussing out an asshole/moron on the phone.

DeleteClue here is "A+ list". I don't think Xtina, Miley or Katy P are A+ list. We're talking Madonna territory here. I don't think this is Madonna but someone that big.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that a lot of the enterns have no clue about the business side of the biz.
Miley is not A+. She hasn't sold that many records or earned enough accolades for her music. She is still trying to break free of the Hannah Montana brand. Mariah is A+.

ReplyDeleteWhen a 70-minute Elton John concert nets $800K with Elton's time being donated; I'm going to guess this is John Lennon's agent for a Beatles reunion, 'cause nobody else could raise that sort of money with a 30-minute charity performance.

ReplyDeleteIf this is aired I feel some firings if not sueings afterwards: The asshole agent and the person who recorded it unbeknownst (sp) to the agent (why would he say that knowing that he is being recorded?).

ReplyDeleteThis won't be bad PR for the star. She was not recorded, right? It was only the booking agent recorded, claiming she said those things. The star will just blame it on the booking agent and say he made it all up.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Katy Perry is a good guess because she seems ignorant as hell (I can't believe she didn't get more crap for that "Ur so gay" song) and I could definitely see her using derogatory terms.
It's Katy or Taylor... they are they only other current A+ listers besides the two eliminated ( Beyonce & Rihanna ).
