I just wrapped up the gifts for my fellas this morning: Thomas Mega Blocks for the little guy; and chocolates and a sweet package of caviar, dahling for my hubs. I'm rockin out the Barefoot Contessa potato latkes and some champs and some kinda fabulous chocolate dessert. If he's lucky, he may see me in some lingerie, too. I will totally be making chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries for the morning after.
I'll take the diamonds, real estate, shoes, chocolate and flowers. Thank you very much.
And nobody, I mean nobody, in my real life better interrupt my weekend with my boys.
@susan, I want to be your love! I'm a secret sentimentalist, but I don't buy into holidays, don't care about presents, I hate people thinking about what I'd like with their hard earned money - I'll buy my own stuff, thanks (not a hyper consumer, I also don't need cheap factory made crap done by slave labor). Just be kind to me, love me and ditto.
Flowers AND candy (See's chocolates pretty please) make me very happy on Valentine's Day! I know it's a holiday created by the greeting card industry, but I love it! My mom always had a Valentine party for us when we were kids & I've carried on the tradition with my little family. In fact, my daughter has been dressing in Valentine outfits since February 1st!
@Susan, sounds wonderful and enjoy your weekend! I can't wait for Friday. I bought my son the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 movie and it came with a lunch box. Plus I get to volunteer in his classroom that day too! He's so excited!
I tell my kids for Valentines Day I just want a home made card & lots of good behavior! (From my hubby, I request no card, and lots of naughty behavior!)
I'd be happy with one of my fave dinners capped off with some port and teuscher truffles.
I bought my kids books (they are big readers! Going to get them each a goody from the chocolatier down the street and we're making cards together tomorrow. My daughters has a bday this weekend though and I bought her concert tix, her first ever!! Pretty excited for her.
In high school I worked delivering flowers, so I'm speaking from experience. Nothing is a guaranteed panty-melter like roses delivered to a woman at work.
(The really funny deliveries were the "morning after" flowers. I could always tell those because the woman would be blushing and furiously thinking up and excuse to explain to her co-worker why she got a vase of roses out of the blue.)
I got chocolate and a tattoo for Valentine's day.. hubby is only home one week a month, so we celebrated early. I also got multiple O's, but I get those regardless of the holiday;)
Definitely flowers, and any flowers besides red roses! I worked as a florist some years ago, and I got sick of them! Boring & a cliche'. Especially when there are so many other interesting rose colors and other beautiful, under-appreciated flowers in the world!
Not impressed by jewelry -unless it's something vintage and unique, then I don't care if it's real or costume. But I loooove chocolate. I love it reeeaaallll good.
To be precise with your question: I'd rather have flowers. Peonies or hydrangeas, or beautiful roses, in that order. Not a big sweet eater, but chocolate covered ginger is my fave from way back, and I will always enjoy that. So flowers and chocolate covered ginger. If you haven't had it, you're missing out. Need to try it. Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I'd rather get real estate.

DeleteBruce, I don't think that's what Brody meant.
DeleteHi Ray!
DeleteScott, I've had 3 wives. Believe it or not, I know what a pearl necklace is! It doesn't come from the jewelry store!
DeleteYes! Told you I learned all my best moves from my dad!
DeleteThere you go, buddy! You were disappointing me there for a sec.
DeleteI've only given pearl earrings.
DeleteOh Rob.....talk to Brody or Scott.

Rob, it makes me proud that you keep plugging the sock line. Have you seen an increase in business?
DeleteYes, Bruce! The hits on the site have drastically increased and my warehouse is busy.

That's nice.
DeleteI'll take flowers UNLESS you're going to get me some Vosges Chocolates -- and then don't forget the champagne!
ReplyDeleteWould rather get laid.
ReplyDeleteBut Royce chocolates would be nice.
Mimosas, baby. Flowers die, I don't like sweets, jewelry annoys, but ply me with freshly squeezed OJ and champagne, and I'll be your valentina.

ReplyDeleteHi Bruce, it sounds like you want a great big pearl necklace.
ReplyDeleteI tell my kids for Valentines Day I just want a home made card & lots of good behavior!
ReplyDelete(From my hubby, I request no card, and lots of naughty behavior!)
Either is nice. I like the card best!
ReplyDeleteFlowers - Hydrangeas - they are my favorite, and rarely do I receive (or want) flowers, so that is what makes receiving them so special.
ReplyDeleterikkitikkitavi - Are you bitter??

ReplyDeleteHey Bruce, you can wear that pearl necklace with a frock from the Kollection.

ReplyDeleteI told my husband if he really felt he had to get me something for Valentine's Day to get me an ice chipper, or a wheelbarrow.
ReplyDeleteOf course I am also the woman who asked for a dump truck load of dirt for Mother's Day a few years ago.
Jewelry.
ReplyDeleteNeither. We don't celebrate Valentine's Day, since it's a corporate holiday. We celebrate our special anniversaries.
ReplyDeleteI hate flowers. I'll take some jewelry and, luckily, I'm pretty easy to buy for
ReplyDeleteFlowers!
ReplyDeleteChocolate is evil ... all that weight gain for what?
