X Factor Canceled

You can't say Fox didn't give X Factor a chance because they did. The biggest thing on television in the UK was supposed to be huge for Fox and give them something for the part of the year that American Idol was off the air. Simon Cowell kept bragging about how great the show and format was and that they would get Super Bowl type numbers. The show never matched the hype or the amount of money spent on Simon and the judges and Fox canceled it after three seasons. This now leaves Simon free to go back to Idol or move to new York and spend most of his days and nights with his new baby. Yeah, I don't think Simon is looking forward to that at all. I think Simon might give the whole staying at home thing a week or two at most before he will want to start traveling the world again and hook back up with his harem and party with all of his rich friends. That is tough to do if you are copped up inside a NYC apartment changing diapers and waiting for the kid to respond to a Dora episode so you can leave them parked in front of the television for hours.

  2. It's not the biggest thing in the UK by a country mile. Last season sucked and was roundly trounced in the ratings week in week out by Strictly Come Dancing (UK version of DWTS?). It's on it's last legs here too I would have thought.

  3. Wasn't that show supposed to be like America's got talent? Or was it supposed to be like the Voice?

  4. Simon is returning to X Factor (UK) next year. I was really hoping it would be cancelled.
I used to love that show. Great Saturday night game show. But it has had its run and has become predictable and boring.
And Gary Barlow sucked the dying breath out of it. Am I right Violet?

    2. Don't get me started on Sharon O. That woman is ugly, inside and out.
I was never a Barlow fan. He just wants everyone to be like Elton John... And that's just sick and wrong! :-D
      Rough Copy doing Coldplay?? Stupid.

  10. Good! They never should have fired Khloe. She was the only thing that made that show watchable!

  11. Meh I actually enjoyed the first season, some great talent came out of it but I'm over reality shit (within reason, there will never be too much Real Housewives) and agree with everyone that it's overplayed.

  14. Stupid show. simon over estimated his reach. never watched it, glad Fox cancelled it. He's already a billionaire, what should he care? Buy a tv station and run your shows all day if you want!

  17. There aren't just far too many talent shows but reality in general. Bring back well written scripted shows and let this trend die.

  19. I think the popularity of The Voice made it impossible for X Factor to get a real following. I watch The Voice every season. I tried one season of X Factor but just didn't grab me. They tried too hard, even worse than Idol.

The Voice gets schmaltzy too but of the three it is the least. The battle rounds are awesome, it breaks my heart though when both contestants are evenly matched.

  20. PS Is there a version of the Voice in the UK yet?

I'm neither surprised or disappointed - it was boring, and the last series was the worst ever.

Last year's series showed promise with Britney on the panel but she was under such tight control by her minders that she was too scared to say 'boo'.

Demi Lovato was a crap choice from the beginning.

There are too many of these shows now and people are bored. AI might be lucky to have a couple more seasons, but I doubt it will go past that.

I haven't even heard from last year's winner ... can't even remember his name, but I remember he was a country singer. Actually, the only ones I have heard of are the girls who were put together when they failed at their individual attempts (one of them is called Camilla).
