Super Bowl Commercials
My favorites yesterday were the ones that weren't designed to make you cry. The Tim Tebow T-Mobile one is great.
I thought it was nice to see Anna Kendrick being in a huge commercial and thought it was good.
The Radio Shack one was nice just because no one really is sure how they are still in business.
The worst of the day was the Scarlett J one. For all the buzz about her SodaStream ad, it really sucked.
The worst one for me was the Scientology one.
ReplyDeleteThe Radio Shack one was cute.
ReplyDelete@Lotta, I liked the Scientology one only because my friend, "John Smith" later put on Facebook, "I wasn't sure before, but that commercial finally sold it for me. John Smith, Scientologist."
ReplyDelete@Karen, HA! That's awesome.
Deletetoo much reliance on 80s nostalgia all around. Nothing about those 4 hrs stood out, especially the game and most ads were unmemorable.
ReplyDeleteThere were ads???
ReplyDeleteI thought the Tebow commercial was annoying, but mostly because I find him annoying.
ReplyDeleteThe $cio commercial was great! We were all laughing so hard! I didn't see many of the others, though.
I loved the Tebow one, although this was the short version. In the longer version, he does a Starsky-and-Hutch skit with flying doughnuts. Classic.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the Radio Shack one. Nice to see they've remade themselves into a budget version of the Apple Store.
I really enjoyed the Tebow commercials, he really gets it. It's about working when nobody is watching.
ReplyDeleteFrom an outsider's view it seems the SB is more about the adverts and the half time show than it is about the actual sport. What actually dictates the play? Does play have to stop until an ad finishes? Here the ads are only on at half time for big rugby and football events ( and not at all if they're on the BBC).
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the Maserati commercial. I may need to check out a dealership later.

@Lord D: You're the only one that liked it!
DeleteIt was a long, boring, incomprehensible mess!
Idiots are protesting Coke.
ReplyDeleteHey Scott! Come get me, I'll go with you! I'm not golfing today. I know a guy at the dealership.
ReplyDeleteI only watch the Super Bowl for the ads and half-time show. I thought Bruno and the Chili Peppers were fabulous. The ads were such a snoozefest. Radio Shack wins for me hands down. That was cute. Ironically, the Radio Shack in my town really does look like it did in 1982.
ReplyDeleteBruce, I'll have to check my schedule. How do you know this guy?
ReplyDeleteBruno was AMAZBALLS. Rhcp... Meh.
ReplyDeleteTebow - GO GATORS
Percy Harvin - GO GATORS
Chevy cancer commercial - wtf
Scott, regardless of what Kris says-I'm people who know people.
ReplyDeleteThe Newcastle ad was hilarious. Anna Kendrick is definitely beer commercial chick hot.
ReplyDelete@Oopsy Tuesday is Cancer Survivors day.
ReplyDeleteI missed the Xenu commercial? Maybe thats when a local business had their add on.
Of course the ScarJo commercial sucked. ScarJo was in it! LOL
ReplyDeletePizza Hut - guy down the street and his twin brother. I'm not the only one that missed this:

In what world is Anna Kendrick hot? She's skinny, not pretty & has one of those squirrel mouths - no lips, lotsa gum.
