@Sandy lol---those damn payday loans been after my ass for years them and The Columbia House Records---they said the 10 CDS were only gonna cost me a penny!
I heart Pink Martini as well .. My son was born to one of their songs .. No one seems to remember which one though.. We were all a little distracted when he was arriving. Made great labor music though! I prefer Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson and Blind Willie Johnson in my errry day .. Good stuff
Had never heard of it until my husband cranked it up on the radio on our last road trip. Hated it the first time but it's grown on me. Hear it now during stoppages in play in hockey games so you know it's popular.
@Stew, I am jealous! I haven't gotten around to seeing them, though Thomas Lauderdale did perform at a memorial service I attended a few years ago. But it was just sad piano music :/
It's getting easier, babe. Funny thing, our outside cat (that only comes in to eat and occasionally sleep) used to lay next to him when she did come in to sleep. I've been finding her laying on his grave everyday since we buried him.

ReplyDeleteOk Derek now you're sucking up to Paris Hilton you must be really broke.
ReplyDeleteI actually enjoy this song as well. It is fun and stuid and has a beat. Not every song needs to contribute to musics history.
ReplyDeleteI've been known to shoot people for turning up this song.
ReplyDelete*flees from Meanie ;p
DeleteNone taken, sandybrook. I was sort of meh aboot it until I heard it over and over on the NBA promos
ReplyDeleteLord Disick's favorite song would be
ReplyDelete"We on the galaxy that haters cannot visit, thats my reality so get off my SCOTT DISICK" -- The One by Kanye West. #TheOne #YeezyHoldingMeDown
WHATEVER SCOTT, I NEVER HOLD YOU DOWN #PIMPWALKER

ReplyDeleteYay for Pink Martini! I've never heard Timber, though.
ReplyDeleteI'll turn it up for RHCP, Green Day, that Ho-Hey song, and still for Radioactive. Still!
My favorite song is "Gold Digger" by Kanye. It's got a great beat!
ReplyDeleteTHATS THE SONG??? Pitbull? Yuck.
ReplyDeleteYa Columbia House and their commitments but I built a nice collection off of them quitting and rejoining.
ReplyDeleteHow about a little Stevie Ra ?
ReplyDeleteI always leave the "y" off of "Ray".
ReplyDeleteI know I'm getting old because I have never heard of either of these songs. I like to stick with my Black Keys. Now there's a band worth turning up.

I love Stevie Ray Vaughn! Also Webb Wilder
ReplyDeleteYoutubed Webb Wilder. He's terrific. Sort of a combination Rockabilly and Blues.
DeleteYes, Harry, isn't he fantastic? I call his Swampwater Rock. You should check oot the Doo Dad album, one of my faves

ReplyDeleteBy the way. Who is this Avici and why are they ear worming me with Are You Gonna Stay yhe Night and Hey Brother?
ReplyDeleteGuilty. Turn it super loud and dance while driving. Not proud of it.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Pink Martini! Hang On Little Tomato didn't leave my cd changer for an entire year!
ReplyDeleteThe only Timber that matters to me is up in Puppy Heaven leading all the others on new adventures. At least that's the way I want it to be.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your puppy, fella.
DeleteThat's sweet and sad all at the same time, boo. Animals get more than we know
