Leah Remini Didn't Want Her Daughter Audited

Leah Remini is doing press for her show The Exes and gave an interview to BuzzFeed. In the interview she says that she left Scientology because when her daughter reached the age where she would have to start being audited she decided she didn't want her daughter put through that and tried to get the COS to change its position but it wouldn't. So, she left. She says that Scientology dominated her life from her teenage years until she left. She says that even as a working actress that every second she wasn't at work that she needed to be at the Church and that she would be there all the time. She also said that never once in her adult life did she go to a friend's house and sit down and have a glass of wine because you can't be audited if you drank the night before a session so most Scientologists don't drink. This is why when Tom Cruise goes "drinking," it is one swallow of beer to show he is a man's man but never finishes the glass.

  1. The group is nothing short of a cult. Good for Leah having the courage to break away for the sake of her child.

If Tom wanted to prove his masculinity he'd chug it out of a BOTTLE and smash the empty beer bottle on the ground like a real man!

    1. Forehead, fancy. We man's men smash the bottle against our foreheads ... I think ... I've been forgetting stuff lately.

    What up, Fancy?

  8. I've got nothing but admiration for a woman who realizes the situation she's in is dangerous and could potentially harm her daughter, and pulling out the stops to get out of that situation. I wish other parents in dreadful situations like cults or domestic violence had the same options.

And I wish the Celebrity Center would lift off and go back to Xenu. With David Miscavige at the helm, sans oxygen mask because he's at Thetan Level 1000000+infinity*infinity+1.

  11. Glad Leah got out! Love her!

    Where's Shelly?

  12. What took her 25 years to figure out she was in a dangerous situation though? I wonder if auditing and brainwashing are the same thing? It cant be blamed on Stockholm Syndrome solely.

  13. It's easier to smash a full bottle of beer against your forehead than an empty one. Just take a really strong swing and boom. It also keeps the bottle from breaking into really small shards and getting into your eyes. Still don't recommend either of them, though.

  14. She grew up in the cult - she was 6 years old when her mother joined. Brainwashing isn't the same as Stockholm Syndrome.

  16. PS you can't drink before auditing? I'd be smaaaaashed xD

  17. No I asked if auditing and brainwashing are situation? I believe Stockholm Syndrome is somewhat like you are simpathetic to your captors cause like a Patty Hearst situation.

  18. Uncle Sandyboo and others: Not a definitive explanation therein but the H'wd issue of the latest Vanity Fair has a story about missing Shelly and Scientology. It was really good.

    1. @Sherry Thanks - must find & read! I find it all to be very fascinating how their so called church can get away with so much madness.

    2. I'll have to read it. Thanks Sherry.

  19. @Sandy, ah, I read too quickly. I guess you could say auditing is like brainwashing, but I'd say auditing is just a method of brainwashing rather than brainwashing in and of itself (i.e., A Clockwork Orange). Stockholm Syndrome is as you said, becoming sympathetic to your captors, but wouldn't apply to a child raised in a cult.

  20. Thx @7
And @Sherry will try to get there sometime later to read that story.

  21. ok this Co$ stuff is just ridiculous......why would anyone subject themselves to this nonsense?

    about time Leah wised up.

what's wrong with the rest of them?

  22. Sherry - I read that article, and thought it was terrific.

Glad Leah is out, and hopefully, most people were put off by Kirstie's outbursts.

  23. O thknk the auditing is more of a control thing. Like dont drink, dont relax, you never know when we might audit you. Also, you're always doing something wtong and we can call u on it at a moments notice!! Ugh i wld hate that!

  24. Auditing reminds me of confession. Except confession isn't taped, it's meant to be private, and you can pray away your sins.

Oh...also...you don't get to a higher level by confessing.

  25. @Sprink That made me think of Scientology as a real life Role Playing Game lol

Tome Cruise has just acquired the +2 Bastard Sword of Hubbard Judgement.

He attacks Leah Remini for 3 damage

Remini attacks back and causes 6 damage

    Tom Cruise has died

    Try again? Y or N

  26. I liked her years ago, and was disappointed to find that she was into COS. That did it for me. She seemed too strong of a personality and too outspoken to be involved in that mindless crap, so part of me isn't surprised that she left.

By and far, most people on the planet stay within the confines of the religion they are born into for their entire lives. It takes real guts for anyone to break free from that many years of programming. I have a lot of admiration for people who are able to break the chains, so to speak. Good for her!

  27. I'm from the DEEP SOUTH where you have to go to town to hunt. any "church" that doesn't allow drinking would've been shut down by the local chapter of the : FDA, NRA, GUVT, KNITTING SOCIETY, SQUARE DANCE CLUB, you name it. no drinking?? no think so??

  28. Well...thank God Lisa got away from the money mongers and control freaks. If anything were to ever happen to Leah...everyone would know it was the church. Even down to the smallest accident, the scientologists would get the blame.

  29. That woman has more balls than Cruise ever. Will (not counting the ones in his mouth, obvs)

I just read the book that Miscavige's niece wrote about escaping COS, it's a harrowing read, she was born into it too and a member of SeaOrg where the MO is to work you so hard you don't even think of escaping....
