Miley Cyrus recently recorded an episode of Unplugged and one of the songs was with Madonna. It turns out though that Madge was not Miley's first choice. Apparently Miley's first choice was Dolly Parton but Dolly turned down Miley. Miley says it was a scheduling conflict. Hmm. I'm pretty sure they could have worked out a mutual day. I wonder if Dolly is tired of being Miley's godmother and always having her name pop up in stories about the singer. I find it hard to believe that if Dolly was still crazy about Miley that she would miss the chance to sing with Miley on national television, on what will be a very watched program. Plus, Dolly could use some practice before heading over to the UK for her headlining tour of festivals there. Yep, 2014 is going to be huge for Dolly.
I doubt that Dolly needs any practice. Anyway, she has a reputation to uphold and I suspect that 'twerking' with Miley wouldn't do much for that, godmother or not.

Dolly is a legend, I heart her more than I could ever explain. She has always been very supportive of Miley, this ain't her first rodeo. There have been Mileys for millenia, she's not letting any of that affect her

I don't think Dolly has a problem with Mileys musical choices ( supply own quotes,please) but Dolly might not necessarily want her roots exploited to gain Miley a crossover audience.
ReplyDeleteDolly is an amazing legend and has an incredible sense of humor. Remember at the beginning of the Iraq war when there was a "shock and awe" phase and Dolly joked that her breasts were named "Shock and Awe"??
