  8. Based on her FB posts, PSH's sister didn't know before it was made public. Horrible, but hard to hide when people are high profile.

  9. RIP PSH I can't stop crying and I'm not sure why it's hitting me so hard. Perhaps because he was just a few years younger than I am, but definitely because I struggled with addiction. :(

  10. Whitney is not funny. Sad lonely woman who finds pleasure in making fun of others and self depricates to the point that its just pathetic. That is not comedy- it's just sad. I hate comedians like that.

  11. Woah guess enty wasn't full of shit about psh :(

  15. What the what? Was PSH in Entern's death pool? BOO HISS.

    Sending you positive thoughts, @Meanie.

  16. I hate it when people die alone, especially in a bathroom. Big sigh, loved him in Capote. Huge talent, lost!
Seems a bit facetious but GO SEAHAWKS .

    ReplyDelete
  17. So sad. What a waste of talent and a life. How many kids did he have who will now be without a father?

    ReplyDelete
  18. And yet Charlie Sheen lives on.

Sorry not nice but it was my visceral reaction just now.

Apparently PSH was clean for over 20 years but fall back off the wagon and hard. So this hits harder when this happens to a guy with so much talent, who lived his life quietly, didn't seem out to try and hurt people, who everyone who worked with him seemed to love.

  19. Huge hugs to you meanie. I'm a fellow struggler.

  22. Not to be an ass but for gods sake ! Pick a blind and moan about PSH to your hearts content. This is the third blind that has turned into a wake for a great actor junkie... At least when we 4ambled about tea , its all on blind 1, not every blind ever!

    2. Oh please steampunk. That's really rich coming from someone who clogs the threads every fucking day with shit that has nothing to do with the actual post. Quit your whining and skip over like the rest of us have to do with your own off topic chatter.

  24. Whitney tries so hard to be funny that it isn't all that funny at times. Then she can casually throw out a one liner that's hilarious.

She isn't everyone's cup of tea but she has her moments. Her show had some potential but got ruined by bad show runners and NBC overselling it so hard before it even aired it turned so many people off and assumed they hated it without ever watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. instances like PSH are why i will never shoot up.

  26. Such a god damn shame. He was a great actor.

  27. Meanie - congrads on staying clean, thanks for sharing. I'm in shock. I don't know why anyone ever goes the heroin route, so many deaths.

    ReplyDelete
  28. as Artie Lange said in his book about heroin you die or you get sober that is where the road ends.

Sounds like he suffered the same as Cory M. you try to take as much as you did before you were sober and the body just can't handle it.

  29. @msgirl it is the most calming and euphoric feeling you can ever imagine.

    ReplyDelete
  30. for people with severe depression, like myself, being high on it may be the only time the person feels any kind of emotional and psychological peace.

    ReplyDelete
  31. and then you're dead

    ReplyDelete
  32. First off, I'm sorry dude died, but they should take the picture of him dead with the needle in his arm and plaster it in every high school in America as a deterrent.

On topic, I saw Whitney Cummings on Leno the other day. She looked much better than she did on that crap show of hers. She wasn't spindly and oily. I say it was even money that Seth McFarlane tapped it after the show.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @timebob yup. but if youre really that miserable, death isnt your worst option. at least it doesnt look/feel like your worst option.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm with you Meanie..This hits me hard for obvious reasons. He was such a huge talent with huge struggles. I was so hoping it wouldn't end this way. My heart goes out to his wife and kids and everyone who loved him. Just sad sad sad.

  35. @ Meanie, sending you a hug and congrats on your six years. I would hope that PSH's death might wake Hollywood up, but it will not.

  38. @wendy thats actually a falsehood. many people crave high calorie food (specifically sugar) while on H, and they certainly crave them when they are coming down because the H makes you crave pleasure to replace the dying euphoria when you come down off of it.

  41. @meanie yea, i would love to talk with you about your process though. its been a real struggle for me. losing my fiance (getting cheated on) and my grandmother (who i was close to) passing away has made the relapsing a real uphill battle. i'm kind of doing it on my own so I could use some tips.

  42. Interesting that Whitney made joke after joke about the fellow actress who can't ever help her get a role in the future but is silent on the director boyfriend who dumped (cheated on?) her.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeahhh I agree with Stepforded. I can get off topic in a big way and it is really sad that film lost such a talented man but treating every single post can get annoying. Let's all migrate to the official PSH post to mourn and share stories, I really did like him.

I also really liked Whitney's show. She is much funnier when she isn't trying to be Chelsea Handler and I wouldn't call picking on Lea Michele pathetic. Lea is such a bitch who takes pleasure in making other people miserable and is riding that Cory death wave for as long as she can. While still doing drugs. No respect for her, Whitney can give her shit all day long and I will just sit back and laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @7 I'm sure she is. Very sure...

    ReplyDelete
  45. @headrot I can only speak to my own experience. I wanted to get clean. I'd had enough and I didn't want to die. And, I knew I would if I didn't get clean. I don't know what else to tell you, but maybe get your ass to a 12 step meeting and work it. I wish you the very best of luck.

Also, while I most certainly did heroin (never shot up, not that that makes a difference, lol) but was horribly addicted to opiates for nearly 8 years. Addiction is addiction.

Sending love to you, @Sherry. And, to the rest of you who are struggling. <3

And, to those who sent their support in comments: Much love to you all! <3

  51. I kinda think Wendy troll was being sarcastic to the other troll (which probably is the same troll writing as Wendy but I digress). PMK is completely despicable after all. Would have no prob with that situation.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Meanie, glad you overcame.

I personally would never pop or shoot anything, but I watched my brother almost lose his battle with heroin (he didn't shoot up, though). He's five years sober now. Addiction is a beast.

  53. Hey, hugs to everyone here facing substance abuse and mental health issues. I think I might have found the right meds for me after years of struggle. Help is out there for whatever you're facing! It may always be a bit of a struggle and some of us may have to find a "new normal," but we don't have to wallow in despair. I'm saddened by the PSH news, especially since he'd been clean for so many years and he leaves behind three children under ten. I just don't know what else to say except "choose life." It matters. We ALL matter.

Back to the reveal...I really like Whitney and I loved her show. Chris D'Elia FTW! What a hottie. 2BG is filthy but it's still awfully clever, too.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Should she really stick to comedy? I really don't find her, or her writing, funny at all.

    ReplyDelete
  55. "2BG is filthy but it's still awfully clever, too."

Actually, it's not. Clever premise, terribly fucking awful writing 2/3rds of the time. If you check the script credits, the brutally hackneyed scripts are all written by Cummings or people he's hired to write on other shows. She's a horrible writer and horrible judge of scriptwriting talent. Complete hack.

Laura Kightlinger has written some funny scripts for the show though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. @B.Profane Michael Patrick King runs 2BG he created the show with Whitney after pitched it to him.

Whitney has only been directly involved in writing two episodes. The pilot with MPK and this season she wrote 'And the 'it' hole'. She isn't even at tapings. She just gets to enjoy checks as 'executive consultant' and the fact it already brokered a high priced syndication deal. She is estimated to earn about 40 million from the show overall after it hits syndication. Not bad for a few dick jokes.

The premise of the show is to be crass. It's crass and that's the audience it plays to.

@nom Whitney dated Peter for about a year. She never got an acting gig off of him.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Timebob, I know Mike King is the primary creator/showrunner but Cummings has had a huge influence on the writing. Everyone in the cast "credits" her with that--more fool them--and most of the staff writers are people she got hired. They're Cummings-lackey hacks.

It's not "crass," it's supposed to be a retro retake on Alice and Three's Company. I've got no problems with a T&A show or lots of dick jokes, but it's a terribly-written T&A show. Mike King thinks he's being clever with his "high low-brow" premise but the show is knackered with poor script quality. It's not that the show is vulgar, it's badly-written vulgar...which still means it's a badly-written show.

Shame. I've got a premise for a great episode built around Garrett Morris's character, but I have no interest in trying to get inside to pitch it 'cuz it would go through her hands eventually.
