Blind Item #2
This B list mostly movie actor now was a mostly television actor on a hit show before his ego exploded. It exploded over the entire cast of his former show who all dislike him immensely and are enjoying watching him fail to get his movie star career launched and one actress from the show especially dislikes him because of an incident where she thinks he took advantage of her.
Well, if the show is still current, I'll go with Jon Hamm. He comes across as egotistic in interviews. Hendricks for the actress.
ReplyDeleteThe guy who played Matthew on Downton Abby?
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought too
DeleteAgree, plus there was a DM article about how the other actors don't miss him
DeleteKellen Lutz?
ReplyDeleteReally, Seven? I always thought he came across as really down-to-earth. And he has done a LOT of movies in the last coupla years
ReplyDelete@Bruce Jenner - people were asking about your whereabouts yesterday - your chirpiness was missed! :-)
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... I don't really know but Steve Carrell sort of stands out for some reason ... do the cast from The Office loathe him?
Martin Lawrence fits a lot of these clues...
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of The Office cast saying anything that wasn't positive about Steve Carell.

ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble ... Movie actor that went to TV, then back to movies ?
ReplyDeleteOr. TV actor on hit til ego got him fired has a low burn movie acting career now...
All I know for sure , former cast mates are gleeful that he is having a hard time...
Help?
I was thinking Topher Grace. However I am well aware the show is no where near current. So other that I got nothing.
ReplyDeletesteam I read it as he was on tv maybe a hit show got kicked off the show and his movie career is stalled which makes the old castmates happy.
ReplyDeleteThanks sandy, :-D

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Dan Stevens too (Matthew from Downton Abbey) and the actress would be Michelle Dockery.
ReplyDeleteI've got it! David Caruso! 10 years ago!
ReplyDelete@TTM, Jinx!
DeleteYou owe me a coke, Seven!
Delete@Talks, I've only read a couple of interviews and he really did seem snotty in them.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'm taking back my guess - Dan Stevens is a pretty good guess. His leaving Downton Abbey was a surprise to everyone and they weren't happy about it. He pulled a David Caruso.
Hmm. I know that people were disappointed by Dan Stevens leaving, but I thought that it wasn't unusual for British actors to leave a series. No one seemed mad at the actress playing Lady Sybil leaving. Anyway, he definitely fits.
ReplyDeleteTopher Grace is an interesting guess only because of what he might have done to a particular actress. No surprise otherwise.
Hey seven, your link convinced me that this Dan guy is the one. It must burn him that Lady Mary's tit gorge is getting more attention...
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call Dan Stevens a b list mostly movie actor though - he's hardly done a lick since leaving DA.
ReplyDeleteLove the Dan Stevens guess. Karen - people weren't mad about Sybil because she gave them plenty of warning and was accommodating. Dan Stevens dropped this too late for the scripts to change to make his departure serve the show better, and in fact refused to come back to shoot just a scene or two to make his leaving make more sense, so they had no choice but to kill him off. He was an asshole about it. Then he tried to become all Hollywood by losing tons of weight and changing his appearance.
ReplyDeleteDM article with a totally snarky headline: So Dan, are you REALLY happy you ditched Downton? A year after his shock exit, he's still waiting for his big Hollywood break. (Dayum!)
ReplyDelete@Karen, would Laura Prepon be the actress if it was Topher Grace? Or the one who played his sister? Didn't she get fired from the show for doing drugs?
My money is on Dan Stevens. Sybil and Miss O'Brien both got decently written exits, so I suspect that Fellows' cold treatment of Matthew's demise reflected a bitterness between them.
ReplyDelete@Sleven, two girls played his sister and one is the one who OD'd in rehab. My guess would be Laura Prepon, but now that this is sounding more like Dan Stevens (except for the B list mostly movie part), I have no clue.
ReplyDeleteAn "incident" with an actress sounds like something that happened once involving just them, not something like the guy leaving the show. So I think there's more to this story no matter who it's revealed as.
And thanks to @msgirl for more background info. :)
@msgirl exactly! He has been struggling ever since to try and make it "big".
ReplyDeleteCould be Dan Stevens. The Fifth Estate bombed last year, although he's been busy acting in 4 films already this year. My only problem is the B movie actor rating for an actor who's had no movie success yet.
ReplyDeletePatrick Dempsey?
ReplyDeleteCharlie sheen?
ReplyDeletePatrick and Charlie are both still TV actors so not them.
ReplyDeleteChevy Chase
ReplyDeleteOoOo @ martin!
ReplyDeletejuicy!
It's really hard to get ego off your clothes when one explodes and even then you can never get rid of that smell.
ReplyDeleteTopher Grace.
ReplyDeleteThat 70's show.
Mila Kunis.
I'm with you guys on the Dan Stevens guess. He fucking blew it!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's definitely topher grace from that 70s show. Everybody from the cast hates him and his career crashed and burned big time.
ReplyDeleteDan Stevens was at Sundance last month with a film that got some attention. And the blind would have mentioned he is foreign born.
ReplyDeleteIs Piven too old to be this one?
ReplyDeleteI think you guys who picked Dan Stevens are right. Matthew's death scene was one of the most unintentionally hilarious, humiliating ways to send off a character after Stevens left everyone in a lurch by quitting. That was a major middle finger from Baron Julian and the show to Dan Stevens.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Dan Stevens is that he isn't Hollywood material. Hugh Grant made the transition successfully but Dan Stevens is more doughy, less sexy. He's too British, and not in the somewhat adorable way Hugh Grant is British. More in the "thank god we fought the American Revolution and got free of those upper class twits" kind of way.
ReplyDeleteThat Dan dude from Downton Abbey
