Amanda Bynes Gets Plea Deal In DUI Case

Another legal proceeding is out of the way for Amanda Bynes. The latest involved her DUI arrest back in April 2012 when she hit a police car. Yeah, never a good idea when you have been drinking and drugging. Yesterday in court her lawyer entered a plea on Amanda's behalf of reckless driving with an alcohol component. Amanda avoided jail time but will be on probation for three years and also has to attend three months of alcohol classes. Amanda is currently on probation for driving with a suspended license. I wonder if she will ever go back to acting or if she is just going to finish going to school and then get a regular 9 to 5 job somewhere in the fashion industry and a few years from now we will be asking what happened to her. I think her parents being put in charge of her was a great thing. There was no way that things were going to turn out well for her if they had not been given control of her life.

  2. Some folks just aren't meant for life in the public eye. It's good to see that she's on the right track and hopefully they'll let her decide her own path instead of pimping her out alá the Spears fam.

  4. With LiLo not spazzing out, Breezy in rehab and poor Amanda locked down, the only excitement was The Maple Douche Lord and his Dorkio Drift in Miami. Plumb quiet now.

  7. I still think it blows that she only got probation when anyone less well known than she is would have had to do time on a charge like that.

California may be a great state. In fact, I think it is; but the obviously preferential treatment given to people like Bynes, Lohan, Bieber, et al, is a disgrace.

  9. @Robert... I don't know, I think the fact that everyone now knows that AB had serious untreated mental illness at the time of the charges is (and ought to be) a mitigating factor. Bieber, Lohan... sure, lock them up; but schizophrenia +/- bipolar is not the same thing as being a brat.

I thought a big part of Amanda's mental problem(s) stemmed from the sexual abuse she received as a child actor, abuse that the parents were aware of and allowed to continue?

    1. @harry - that's what I was under the impression of too. Nice of her parents to bel poking after her now when they clearly didn't give two hoots when she was earning that nice pay packet.
I will never understand how parents continue to allow their children on those Disney/Nick shows.

  11. @LOttaColada, Khloe always says "longhairdontcare" That seems to be her motto with the wig. Maybe.

  13. I think it's a good thing that her parents stepped in as well. She was obviously suffering from some disassociation and if you're bi-polar/schizo drugs only amplify your mental illness. Hopefully she will find her way.

  14. It's a beautiful thing when Amanda gets off with a plea and literally right after this post, Justin Bieber is going to trial for the same shit. No sarcasm, it really is awesome.

  15. Is that a picture from yesterday? I thought she'd given up on the wacky wigs* and shades.

    * Don't get me wrong; I love the wacky wigs, but other recent pics show her looking pretty toned-down.

  16. As long as Miss Mandy's probation does not restrict her from selfies, there will always be hope.

You were my first celeb e-crush Miss Mandy. We will always have those pillowy tit bathroom pictures to remind us of our time together. I will cherish them.

    Good Luck.

  17. Thanks @LottaColada!My motto (for hair)is: "you can take the man outta Malibu, but you cant take the Malibu outta the man!" Luckily now I'm in Malibu permanently and it is great.

  19. The one to keep an eye on is Shiloh to compare double standards. His recent behavior is probably just stunts but there is potential there to become an Amanda or Brittany. Another child star. A female with concerned parents vs a male with sketchy parents. Lots of mental illness pops up in your early 20s too.

  20. Which come first, the mental illness or the acting? Or, was it exacerbated by fame/loss of fame/possible pedo stuff. We probably won't know, ever. A question for everyone-how do we know Bieber hasn't abused or has had the same issues that Brit or Amanda has had? Or, Selena, Zac, Demi, etc.? I refuse to fully judge kid performers to the level I would adult performers.

    1. Good point, but I reckon many (not all) adult performers, ie those who became famous as adults, had childhoods as or more rotten.

Because when you're the breadwinner, at least you get SOME care and love and attention.
