Ronan Farrow Goes Off On Woody Allen

While Diane Keaton was presenting a no show Woody Allen with a lifetime achievement award, his son, Ronan Farrow Tweeted that he missed the speech but wanted to know if Diane Keaton included an account of the time Woody Allen molested his daughter when she was seven. This of course is not the same daughter he later married. Woody's daughter Dylan accused Woody of molesting her and made the announcement the same year that Woody started dating Soon Yi. Yes, Soon Yi was not technically his daughter, but he raised her like one. The guy is disgusting and Ronan must have been disgusted that someone was honoring a pedophile. It also shows you that Hollywood doesn't care about your personal life as long as you make them money. You can molest little girls or marry your daughter just as long as you make the studio money. If you stop making them money then they find morality.

    1. The daughter of Mia Farrow didn't accuse Allen of molesting her. Mia Farrow accused Allen of molesting her. The case was investigated by California DCFS & found to be false.
What's happening now id the girl [Dylan] is repeating Mia's lie.
Mia & Allen were in a huge public fight at the time.

    2. No becca. The daughter told her mother they had enough proof to indict him, but felt it wld be too much for daughter. Notice he didnt get custody or visitation with any of the kids. And they want nothing to do with him.

What aunty said. If you read the court reports etc the police thought the daughter was a genuine witness but that the case would be too hard for her.
He was also seeing a psychiatrist for his inappropriate behaviour towards the girl before she said he had molested her and wasn't meant to be alone with her.
I found honouring him uncomfortable to say the least

  16. I like that Mia and Ronan and the rest of the less famous children don't shy away from telling the public exactly how they feel about Allen. One of the kids photoshopped him out of all of their photographs and deleted him from home videos just so that they could look back on pleasant memories without seeing him. I think all the siblings really look out for each other.

  17. Allen films I cut my teeth on during my film study years; loved his humour, his choice of actors, wrote for women, a feminist of sorts in his character introspectives, he pushed barriers. Then the Soon Y scandal, the early Vanity Fair issue where Mia spelled it out. I've never seen a film of his his since, even though I would have loved to have seen many. I cannot with conscience support his work, on any level. It blows how many of my favs still work for him; Diane Keaton accepting for him? I adore her, thought she was great, so lovely, but whaaaaaaat?

The recent VF article with Mia and Ronan and fam, still is shocking to read. Allen's camp hasn't come out against it, much, no major denials, and here he is being given an award. Disgusting and disappointing - glad there wasn't a standing O in the room.

If it were my sister, I would be all over it, it would be my crusade, not let some bastard continue to get accolades for his craft and character - call his shit out Ronan!

  20. Don't forget Roman Polanski. Seems everyone in Hollywood loves him still. Granted, he never did anything to a girl considered to be his daughter, but a pedophile is a pedophile.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have the biggest crush on Ronan Farrow! Love him!

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Nina, pedophile apologists? WTF?!

I'm waiting for the comment that says we shouldn't call him a pedophile, because Soon-Yi was an adolescent and that makes it ephebophilia. Sexual attraction to someone significantly younger than you AND a minor AND your adopted child has a special name: repugnant.

(BTW, Dylan was seven years old when the alleged molestation occurred. Soon-Yi was 19 and Allen was 56 when they supposedly "started" their romantic relationship.)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can't stand Allen, never "got" his movies. But Ronan? He's a fame whore. He keeps playing up his non-relationship with Allen to keep his name buzzing. I find him as irritating as the Kartrashians.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This isn't a defense of Allen. I just find it strange that Mia Farrow is a friend of Roman Polanski. She wrote a character reference for him to the LADA during his rape trial. She still supports him as evidenced in a documentary filmed a few years ago trying to aid Polanski where she makes excuses for him.

It must have been a very strange household to grow up in.

  27. @nightowl95, dislike him all you like, but I wouldn't compare Ronan Farrow, a guy who graduated college at age 15, has done tons of work for UNICEF, worked for Obama and Hilary Clinton, and earned a law degree and a Rhodes scholarship to Kim Kardashian, a woman who is famous for letting a guy pee on her on tape.

  30. Nightowl, how does he have a non-relationship with Woody Allen who is at least the man who partially raised him and at most his biological father?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't get Mia's defense of Roman Polanski, except maybe she felt indebted to him because of Rosemary's Baby.

People mentioned up thread about Woody Allen receiving this honor. A number of years ago, The Academy Awards honored Elia Kazan, which caused a huge stink - a lot of people stayed seated when he was presented with his award.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thing is, "Annie Hall" is still a masterpiece. As is "Rosemary's Baby." I certainly agree with not honoring pedophiles like Allen and Polanski, but that doesn't make their cinematic achievements garbage. I guess it's an interesting question, really.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why does everyone assume Mia's accusations were true ?
Just like her alluding Ronan is Frank Sinatra's son…
I don't know what is and what isn't true but there are just too many unanswered questions,

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think Woody is a genius director, and all the actors who work with him love doing so because he gives them such freedom.

BUT! And that's a huge BUT! Can I separate the man from the art? This is a discussion that has been going on for ages. I loved Ender's Game but I'm glad I read it before knowing what an asshole he is, love Wagner's music, but I dp find it hard to separate. I'll see Blue Jasmine because I hear it's a great movie, but won't see it in theaters.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hollywood is such a cesspool of perversion with rape, incest, molestation being such a regular occurrence, not to mention that a large portion of casting choices are subject to copious amounts of oral sex, why is anyone surprised someone like Allen would receive an award?

I mean, we all know that almost everything we wear and most of our electronic toys are manufactured in sweatshops, yet we ignore that twinge of guilt and go right on buying the next iPhone.

  36. According to Kriski Groteke, the nanny to Mia Farrow's children, Woody actually had very little to do with Soon-Yi's upbringing. Woody never adopted her, in fact the nanny claims Woody hardly ever interacted with her during his years with Mia. Remember, Mia and Woody lived apart from each other. It was at Mia's assistance that Woody start spending time with Soon-Yi in her late teen years as she was having difficulty relating to boys in school. It was from there that they formed their "relationship."

Not defending him. Just pointing out the details according to somebody who witnessed the whole Mia/Woody blow up first hand. But who knows? She could have been making up shit as well. Mia was hurt by the nanny writing and releasing the book even though the book painted Woody as an absolute monster) and the two went many years without speaking. Still, the nanny's account is a far different one from "but he raised her like one."

    ReplyDelete
  37. Soon-Yi has 2 parents through adoption, Mia Farrow and Andre Previn. People seem to forget about him for some reason.

Interesting fact: 23 year old Mia Farrow was friends with Dory Previn but had an affair with her husband anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I should point out that in a court of law anything Ronan says would be immediately tossed out as hearsay. He didn't personally see or hear virtually all the things he accuses Allen of. I don't know the truth but I suspect that Hollywood is still willing to honor Allen because they consider Mia not to be credible. I doubt that money has anything to do with Hollywood/Allen for the simply reason that his films generally don't do that well commercially.

  42. Ronan Farrow has a career to promote. He has a job because he's (maybe) Woody Allen's son and now he has to stay relevant. Ditto Mia. Not defending Woody Allen whose movies I usually enjoy but whose personal life really grosses me out - but no more so than any other movie industry titan. Yes, defending child molesters is bad (Roman Polanski should come back and face the music) but I submit that promoting potentially false accusations of child molestation for personal gain is even worse.

  43. Wow does Ronan look like Frank.

    1. Ronan is dead ringer for Mia's dad. Just Google "John Farrow director." What is more remarkable is how much John Farrow looked like Frank Sinatra. could have been his blond twin. Mia was ,at 18,tramautized by John's death. She married Sinatra 3 years later. Who knows about Ronan, but if you look at his childhood photos he seems to resemble Woody.

      Delete
  44. I believe the investigation of child abuse proved to be inconclusive though the judge erred on the side of caution as far as custody went.

The adult Dylan still recalls the incidents. Though the breakup was ugly and nasty because of the disturbing Soon -Yi relationship, I still tend to believe Mia. It is obvious that Ronan believes his sister.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Trudi seems to be the only one with any brains on this board. Thank you for being only one who knew that Soon Yi's last name was Previn NOT Allen.

Furthermore Susan, Woody Allen is considered on the the best standup comedian of all time, a award winning TV writer, a best selling author, one the greatest auteurs ever or and an accomplished jazz musican. That is were the accolades come from. And yes, the women in Allen's life all seem to stick with him, i.e. then Dianes-Wiest and Keaton. Meanwhile, Mia is writing letters for Roman Polanski.

Take a step back and look at the whole picture. You might see things differently

    ReplyDelete
  46. crila16 - I suggest you look at a photo of Mia's father, the director John Farrow.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Flicknik - everyone knows Soon-Yi's last name was Previn and not Allen. That doesn't mean any particular person commenting is more or less intelligent because their opinion doesn't match yours. Thing is, Soon-Yi Previn was the 19 year old adopted daughter of Woody Allen's SO. Whether or not Woody was significantly involved in her upbringing, you don't sleep with your lady's kid, no matter how much "artistic genius" is attributed to you. Mia may be bitter, but it doesn't excuse her ex marrying her daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Exactly, Seven.

For those who haven't read the Vanity Fair article, I encourage you to do so. It sheds a lot of light on Mia Farrow's childhood and family. One of her brothers was charged with molesting children a few years ago; another one had all sorts of issues, and sadly took his own life. Her father was no prize either. If nothing else, it helps explain her mindset.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ronan does look exactly like Mia's father - Woody is probably his actual father.

I love Woody Allen's movies - all of them. I don't believe he molested the seven year old girl, Dylan. I believe Mia is a child-hoarding loon.

That said, there is NO excuse for what he did with Soon-Yi. None. There never will be any excuse for it. That's reason enough for Ronan and Mia and everyone else to loathe him. No need to make anything else up to add to it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm not really saying this to be provocative, tho it will likely have that result: curious-do the people who think Woody is innocent of molesting his daughter (not the one he married) because it couldn't be proven in a court or was dismissed for whatever reason also consider Michael Jackson innocent? What kind of proof is required? Just a conviction? Honestly just curious.

Shame on all of you: so much intolerance and hate here. But give it time: your generation is slowly going the way of the dinosaur and racism and homophobia. Consentual incest between adults is nothing to be ashamed of. It hurts no one. When you incestophobes trot out your tired prejudiced arguments about how consentual adult incest starts as pedophilia or childhood sexual abuse, you are the exact same as those vile, hateful, hurtful homophobes who claim gays and lesbians are are pedophiles trying to corrupt young boys and girls and win them over to their side. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Kevin Clash was a fluke, thankfully, and his story got tut-tutted and excused and then swept away, as it should have been. Incestophiles are making great strides in this country, and soon CLM (Close Relative Marriage) will be on the books and there's nothing you intolerant hate-mongers can do about it. TV shows and movies with incest as the subject matter are already becoming commonplace (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incest_in_popular_culture for more info) and while it's not always shown in a favorable light, it is shown, and that's all that matters: we of the MFSB (mother father sister brother) Community are slowly but surely winning the hearts and minds of America's most impressionable generation, the “Miley Cyrus / Selena Gomez” Disney Channel / ABC Family generation. It's all about love, folks: lose the hate, lose the prejudice, and embrace acceptance and inclusion: there should be no “second-class citizens” in the 21st century. Grow up!

What you are doing is projecting people not thinking incest as normal as people being prejudicial against it. Something not being normal does not equal being discriminatory.

There are just certain boundaries that should not be crossed and that is one of them. 75. Your body has natural, biological urges that cannot be helped. You can't fault anyone for that or blame them for what they cannot control. But just because a biological urge is something beyond your control does not make it morally right or acceptable, especially when you act on those urges. There is something morally, ethically, and I want to say biologically wrong with a mother being sexually attracted to and aroused by her young son or daughter. There is something wrong with looking at your golden retriever and wanting nothing more than to have sex with it. Sure, there isn't anything wrong with two consenting adults engaging in sexual activity, but there is something very wrong with a father being aroused and attracted to his daughter whom he raised and acting on those urges.

But then again, what do I know? I am some random internet user who is such a pussy that I have to hide behind a screen and anonymously shove my fundamentalist beliefs down poor Johnny and his mother/lovers throat. I guess I am in the wrong because I don't want to fuck my father and brothers.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Nina, me not believing Mia's accusations against Woody (regarding Dylan) have nothing to do with what could or could not be proven in court. Molesting seven year old girls is simply not Woody's MO - that's why I don't believe it. Never before or since has there been a whisper of anything even remotely like that connected to him and people have been watching Allen like a hawk.

Mia was batshit over what he DID do to the other daughter. Nobody with any sense blames her for flipping out but that doesn't mean one should believe everything she said or support everything she taught those kids about Allen. Like I said, what he actually did was bad enough. There was no need to make anything up to add to it but Mia went crazy - understandably crazy.

Of course Michael Jackson was guilty of child molestation. It was his MO for years before and after his trial. It was clear that he was a pedophile and I didn't need a conviction to tell me that. HE told us that himself.
