ReplyDeleteNow i don't know for sure about Paris, but there was a story in the paper about the superbowl being one of the big 'sex trafficking' events globally. Think they just mean prostitution, but kept saying 'sex trafficking.' That loads of sex traffickers traffic the sex workers to superbowl and that they have special task forces to target the trafficked sex - and that while they prosecute the 'Johns, ' that the women are treated as 'victims.' Seems a bit sexist to me, but anyhow there's no part of this that wouldn't well suit Paris.

ReplyDeleteI was the same Gabi - I read an article with direct quotes from the law enforcement officers involved in the 'sex trafficking operation' and couldn't figure out if they meant prostitution or something else. Turned out they really mean bringing sex workers into town when a big event is on, like the Superbowl or Olympics.
