I believe the first published reports about Mario Singer cheating on Ramona Singer occurred two months ago.
People Magazine finally decided to talk about it after Mario was spotted out with his girlfriend for the umpteenth time and she caught him with her at one of their homes. People has a huge headline that Ramona caught her husband cheating like they are the ones who discovered all of this. They have got to be the lamest, most publicist friendly magazine on the planet. Even though the guy is now living with his girlfriend People had no problems printing word for word a statement from Ramona's people that wouldn't confirm or deny a separation and that she just wanted privacy during this time. Considering that RHNY starts in about six weeks she is going to be talking to a whole lot of press so that privacy thing is going to be tough to come by. When someone tells me they read People for all their gossip I just cringe. They just refuse to do anything that will upset a publicist or get a nasty e-mail from a publicist or do anything that keeps them from being best friends with publicists. You can't be best friends with the people you are reporting on. You start to worry too much about access and not enough about the news.
They are so wrapped up in their own do goodness that they totally missed the fact that Ramona filed for divorce TWO days ago. So, they accepted a statement from Ramona's publicist who wouldn't confirm or deny a separation with no followup about the fact that RAMONA filed for divorce.
Wouldn't it have more to do with the fact that printing takes place before the morning of release?

I used to like Ramona, then I thought she was kind of a tacky bitch, and now I don't even watch the show anymore. All that said, I think she's nuts, complete with the crazy eyes that we all know she has, but girlfriend looks amazing for her age. She had a post on her blog once about her diet and exercise plan, and I kind of wish I'd printed it out. It was fairly sensible but precise.

ReplyDeleteThe Mum always says "I think Ramona takes pills." She's hilarious, crazy and dumb. Good idea to bring Jill back. I'm sure she's got the dirt. I always thought Mario was kinda hot, but he and Ramona have zero chemistry. That seduction scene was hard to watch.
ReplyDeleteI kind of feel bad for her - she was so far up the river of Denial, it must be hard to finally have to face the truth that your husband is a cheating bastard. That said, she is one housewife who actually had a job, ran a business and was successful before RHNY. They both seem like they worked hard for what they have - she's definitely got a much nicer NYC apartment than Jill Zarin.
