Off Topic

You could throw some oak barrel backwash in a bottle and as long as it has a French label I'm going to think it is classy wine.

  4. I have the BEST finishing salt, Chardonnay smoked, comes from storing the Fleur de sel in a Chardonnay barrel and then smoked, so amazing.

  7. True dat. There is a chapter on it in Freakonomics, and I have seen it demonstrated numerous times that very very few people can taste expensive wine from cheap wine.

  11. I am polishing off a nice '08 Alto Aldige Pinot Grigot right now.

    Also I saw a thigh machine at goodwill (side to side with hold bar). Do these things work? at $17 I kind've want to grab it;
    test workout went well..

  15. My palate is not the best but I have to say the more expensive wines do taste smoother and are more full bodied than the cheap stuff.

    But vodka and rum have these same attributes. Grey goose is so smooth you have to watch yourself or that buzzon will hit like a sledgehammer. Jamaican rum (appleton state reserve) is so smoothe with coke that you can't taste the rum. If your drink is made right.

  19. There have been tons of tests where they put the same wine in a cheap-looking bottle and an expensive-looking one, and everybody will go into detail about how different they are.
