Cold pizza is amazing. Pizza Hut specifically because the ridiculous amount of grease in the crust prevents it from drying out by the next morning. Yes, I have given this a lot of thought...
ITA, pizza is at it's best when it's been sitting overnight in the pizza box on the counter with a couple of empty beer bottles left in the box. Food poisoning be damned!
Not a fan of cold pizza. Can eat it if I have to but there better be some bullets in that gun. Came across a new way (to me) to reheat pizza a couple of days ago. Always just microwaved it, but you end up with a limp crust. Already have enough limpness in my life. The new way is to reheat in a frypan on the stove top. That way the crust ends up crusty again just the same as if you were making a toasted cheese sandwich fuck I'm getting hungry.
Thank you for that pearl of wisdom - sounds logical but I've never thought to do it that way. Must try it.
I nomally re-heat mine (if eating Hawaiian, or chicken brie and cranberry, which aren't nice cold to me), wrapped in tin foil and baked in the oven at 120 deg C for 20 minutes ... takes ages though ... and when you're hungry you want it now, dammit! :-)
Stepforded, you need to stop eating Hawaiian, or chicken brie and cranberry. This is the only pizza that one should ever eat: thin crust, regular cheese, double or triple tomato sauce depending on your state of inebriation, red peppers, and double all of the meats, with a little extra cooking.
You Tube to reheat pizza http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWIJNaA-JNA And here is an article with lots of super things that you might be doing wrong and how to do them right ! :-) http://www.quora.com/Common-Misconceptions/What-are-common-activities-people-get-wrong-every-day-but-dont-know-it
@harry, that's how I cook frozen pizza and reheat slices, with the lid on, so the top gets hot and gooey. For anyone who is interested, when you buy fried chicken, stick it in the oven, it will release unnecessary frying oil and get even crispier.
I like making fried spaghetti for breakfast. Just take the spaghetti, add cheese and some beaten eggs, form it into patties like you would for hamburgers then fry them in a skillet but it's even better if you have a Foreman grill.
Not a fan per se, though still a repeat offender when too hung over to be bothered with nuking it. It tastes as good as the night before if you bake it on the wire rack for 10 mins @ 350.
My cold food days are over. When moved to this state, a big popular item is bakery or party pizza which is pizza dough with sauce, eaten cold. I think its disgusting, everybody else loves it.
Cold Sicilian > Cold Regular Pizza for breakfast.
ReplyDelete#2 Leftover egg roll, microwaved

You're right Runs, forgot to mention that the frypan needs to be covered. And thanks for the tip on fried chicken.

ReplyDeleteReheated pizza, the cheese gets rubbery. If it was removed before melting the first time, then put back on when reheated, that would be OK.
ReplyDeleteI'm digging the idea of reheating it in a frying pan, has to be much faster than an oven.
I'm enjoying cold pizza for lunch right now. And I had a piece for breakfast, too! Perfection!

ReplyDeleteToday is Betty White's 92nd birthday!
ReplyDeleteA gem of a quote from the lovely Ms. White we should all live by:
“If the guy’s a cutie, you’ve got to tap that booty.”
ill sit over in the corner having breakfast food for breakfast. nothing like a fluffy veggie omelette and some hash browns.
ReplyDeleteWhy are all these Off Topic posts about food? If they're all about a certain topic, then it's not really "Off Topic," now is it?
ReplyDeleteEnty posts about food more often than Weird Al records songs about food.
Agree!!!!!!!
DeleteI leave it out overnight, no refrigeration necessary. It's the BEST!
ReplyDeleteCold fried chicken is THE BEST! Cold pizza I can take or leave. Depends on who made it.
