My mom bought me a crock pot for Christmas. Also told me it will work just fine in the basement. I half expect her to start tossing food down the stairs and locking me in for the night.
Only one problem, Enty. You did an interview before and said you don't really live with your parents. Hmmm... Methinks new Enty needs to do some research.
I've only recently discovered the wonders of Crock Pots. Every single thing I've made in it has been so delicious & super easy to make. Especially the turkey breast recipe I use.
Finally got out the slow cooker after 2 years in my cupboard. Made homemade sauce from my moms recipe (because you have to cook sauce slowly to bring out the flavor)...it still sucked.
I'm making butter beans and cornbread Sunday. My Dad has been saying he's wanting a big pot of beans and I've got plenty of cornmeal left over from Thanksgiving and Christmas for the cornbread.
Although I will have to make an extra pan for my dog. If he sees me getting the cornmeal out he knows I'm making cornbread and it's his favorite thing. Last year when we had ice storms so bad we couldn't get out for a week, he ate cornbread everyday since we were out of dog food.
My grandma was talking about her crockpot (RIP: she passed away just before Xmas) & mum had to explain to us it's a slow cooker. I hate my slow cooker. I use my tagine.
I didn't think you could cook bacon in a crock pot.

That's funny. My dogs also love cornbread. One of them hates beans, though.

ReplyDeleteI made a crock pot meatloaf for dinner tonight!! I laid bacon on top of it to keep it juicy. Don't usually like meatloaf, but it was pretty tasty.
