This former A list actor who is an Academy Award winner/nominee and very good looking sat his wife down at a table for dinner and then proceeded to walk around the room and talking to the tables which had either women alone or attractive women and the more attractive they were, the longer he spoke to them. When he finally returned to his own table he told his wife that she was very lucky to be married to him and that he could always find someone else.

ReplyDeleteI see him differently than most posters. I admire his work with the Dalai Lama for human rights around the world. That being said, he needs to practice what he preaches and treat the people around him better. His wife and other friends/family members deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. NOT LIKE THIS! Maybe the Dalai Lama needs to remind him of Buddhist teachings and practices. He is not a role model for anyone with behavior like this!

Perhaps they were fighting at the time and he just got tired of it. Not the best (or most peaceful way) to handle it. Best they don't stay with each other in light of his comment. Still a dick.

Richard Gere has never been nominated for an Oscar. I think he's been in nominated films, but never nominated himself. This just shows that Enty's clues are not always accurate (or, perhaps, that the intended answers change over time).
ReplyDeleteJSierra, it's a sick story someone who couldn't stand working with him made up, and it still has traction decades later. The story was that he would insert live gerbils as anal masturbation.

ReplyDeleteIt has always interested me that he was thought to be handsome...his nose is too large for his face, his eyes are very small, he has a prissy little mouth. Not features that usually add up to handsome. I think the nice head of hair goes a long way to making him attractive.

this is it Gypsy it is hard to reconcile why you have Richard Gere preaching his Buddhism but not practicing it and you got Sean Penn who as celebrities and charitable good works go is one of the few who have really made a real commitment to Haiti and yet he's such a douche.

I mean if Gere has been studying Buddhism this long and he still has not evolved one iota, was he doing it to be trendy or relevant or just trying to get at the very young Uma Thurman since her father is a friend of Gere's and one of the world's foremost authorities on Buddhism.

I thought he was very well cast as the American Gigolo, cold and detached, but his eyes always bugged me - you can't read any emotion in them. To me all the actors I love can say it all with their eyes, they don't even have to speak or move any other muscle of their face. Especially on a big screen, With Gere I see nada.

French Girl - Yes, all the September accounts about the divorce said they had been separated for some time. Sometimes people think if they meet somewhere public the conversation will be more civil. Rarely.
