Blind Items Revealed

July 22, 2013

This B-/C+ list actress who has a very famous name is being written out of a star role on a very popular almost network show because no one can stand her diva behavior. She thinks she is the big star and that she can't be replaced and acts like that to everyone. Apparently she can be replaced though because they rewrote everything to get rid of her. Huh. Must run in the family.

Katie Cassidy

  5. Ok, I have to ask this, because it's the elephant in the room.
Do you mean that the Cassidy's (Jack, David, Sean and whoever this one is) are considered to be a dynastic "show biz" clan, like the Barrymores?
    Really?

  6. There's an elephant in the room?? Cool, I wanna ride!

I assumed it was, but I am far too lazy to Google on Reveal Day!

  18. Hello, world, hear the song that we're singin'
    C'mon get happy!
A whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
    We'll make you happy!

We had a dream, we'd go travelin' together,
We'd spread a little lovin' then we'd keep movin' on.
Somethin' always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feelin' when we're singing a song.

    Trav'lin' along there's a song that we're singin'
    C'mon get happy!
A Whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
    We'll make you happy!

  19. Can't speak for current David Cassidy, who seems troubled, but 1970s David Cassidy still comes across as handsome and charming on Partridge Family DVDs. Nice voice, good sense of humor about himself. He's the butt of many jokes on that show, unusual for a hunky leading man.

  20. So she's just like her Gossip Girl character?

    ReplyDelete
  21. She's on Arrow, not PLL. She is horrible on that show.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thank goodness, she's a terrible actress.

  23. Don't forget her as fake Heather Locklear on Melrose the reboot

  24. Yeah I read her bio after this blind and it was hilarious. Talk about gratuitous. Neigh, obsequious.

  25. I really hope this is true. Arrow is a really great show and Katie is the worst thing on it. This also explains her awful chemistry with Stephen Amell. Amell is a really down to earth guy who interacts with fans regularly and has a big social media presence. He probably can't stand her. Katie is also hardly ever in promos for the show, and she is never in candid photos that the cast takes of each other and posts on twitter, FB, etc.

  26. I always preferred Shawn Cassidy out of that family.

  27. Speaking of IMB bios, I think they are some of the funniest things I've ever read. They are filled with random stuff, and you can tell who has publicists writing theirs and who don't.

  28. Interesting about the reference to her family. I've met her father while working in a hotel spa. It's common for people to be quiet and reserved but he was very outgoing and friendly to the ladies working there {don't know if he has a creepy reputation but he wasn't that at all} and treated me like we were two guys chatting. My only experience with him: good dude.

  29. I haven't watched this season of Arrow yet but it's a shame they got a crappy actress to play such an important role in Green Arrow cannon.

I wander what direction they will take if they write her off. Doesn't she play the character that's supposed to be the main love interest for Green Arrow. Isn't that like writing Lois Lane out of Superman?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Agree with fearofspam, they messed up with casting for such an important character. Katie Cassidy is really a trash actress, I was surprised the day she was cast and knew it wouldnt end well.

It doesnt surprise me at all about the reveal. I think it was a long time coming, everything make sense now, a lot more sense.

"Isn't that like writing Lois Lane out of Superman?"

They already covered that, the show has a Black canary played by the gorgeous and kick ass Caity Lotz. Like the blind item said,"Apparently she can be replaced though because they rewrote everything to get rid of her".

  31. Fearofspam, they already wrote Lois Lane out of Superman. ;) In the DC reboot of the comics, he and Lois Lane have never dated and aren't romantically involved at all. He's smooching Wonder Woman instead.

This blind makes sense--Cassidy's role has been cut way down this season, with more emphasis on Felicity, Diggle and the team dynamic.

They've been very careful not to ever refer to Lotz's character as "Black Canary," though. She says her name is Canary...which makes it seem like Laurel will eventually become Black Canary. (Frankly, I think they should just recast. Have her get injured and need plastic surgery or something.)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Have her get injured (or kill her) have a family member from Ireland come to town to finish up business, fall in love with the place and open a bar. There you go, you can bring in the ASBaR version of the character into the TV show.

Hey, All Star Batman and Robin might be a horrible bastardization of the characters, but it's still a thousand times better than the New 52.
