Blind Items Revealed

July 29, 2013

This A list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner was at a party this past week. Apparently the host of the party had red wine which our actress loves. What our actress did not love was the fact that she recognized that the bottles were only about $20 a bottle. The host spent what she could afford. The actress sent someone to go buy two cases of wine that averaged about $250 a bottle and presented them to the hostess and said, "Here you go. Serve this instead. It is either this or I will leave. i can't drink the stuff you put out."

Gwyneth Paltrow

    2. Kinda maybe? If she liked it, should the price matter? Maybe she should have gotten a bunch of $250 stickers and put them on the bottles for her friend. Who could be friends with a mess like that?

  3. Trashier than the $20 wine. Bringing bottles as a gift is fine, but to do what she did is tasteless.

  4. I mean at least she bought the bottle. I guess.

What time are the items suppose to end? gotta wake up early manana

  5. I would've told her that I knew that and took that into account when choosing the wine.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Why oh why the host didn't keep serving the cheap wine?

    ReplyDelete
  7. She couldn't think ahead to bring the wine she likes and present it as a gift to the host? If you can only drink three-figure vino, that would be the sensible, non-rude thing to do as a matter of course.

  8. Shouldn't she just be glad she was actually invited to a party???

  9. Why in heaven would she attend a party where the host coukd only affird $20 bottles of wine? Pfffftttt

  10. Oh wait, I thought we all had Reese down as a lock. And how dis shw know it was that cheap?

  11. Don't let the door hit goopy... Host/ess should have decanted the wine and served the cheap stuff and stashed the rest.

  12. we all knew GOOP was this bitch.

OTOH we have 10 hrs left to go here and at 4 reveals an hour we may be at August 4th when the Entybot shuts down

    ReplyDelete
  13. How does GOOP know about $20 bottles of wine?
Did it say Kroger on the label?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Maybe it was all role-play, and Chris Martin was looking on from the side with his penis in someone's mouth.

  15. real lushes drink any kind of wine...

  16. because she knows it all. she has an exquisite taste in all the finest things in life. or something like that...

  19. I'd serve her wine but I'd make sure to spit in her glass before I gave it to her.

  20. What a bitch! How insulting to her hostess who is to be commended for not punching her in the face.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm interested in the left overs. Did Goop take 1/2 case of wine home with her, or leave it for the host? I can't call her a cunt w/o knowing that. It wouldn't be fair.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Unless you have a legitimate health reason to not do so, you eat and drink what the hostess serves. Dear lord, she has no class.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would have let her leave and then gone straight to the paps and blabbed the story all over creation.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You're all forgetting how competitive and judgmental it is in the world of celebrity. I reckon Gwynnie saved the friend from embarrassment. People are evil, and she took the hit for her friend.

  25. What party would GP have been at where the host could only afford the $20 wine. I doubt that she hangs out with the normal folk.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Goop you can come to dins any time

    ReplyDelete
  27. Perhaps a Traci Anderson party?

    ReplyDelete
  28. @sandy I have 2 bottles of that in my fridge, what?
I think this blind is a kindness too. heehee

    ReplyDelete
  29. I can only hope the hostess then said, "Darling...Thank you so much. Let me get your coat. My love to your mother."

    ReplyDelete
  30. How in the world does Goopy know someone who's so poor she can only afford $20 per bottle wine?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Call me when Gwyneth says 'I can't stand your $20 plain white T, let me order you a case of $95 tshirts so I don't have to look at you.'

    ReplyDelete
  32. bet she didn't even taste it before deeming it undrinkable. Hostess should have take the wine in the back and then poured her the cheap stuff. Dollars to donuts the bitch wouldn't even know the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Was she at this party while Martin was getting blown by Bosworth?

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL Texas! Truth, you simply cannot discern a more expensive wine beyond the first bottle anyway. She's a snobby idgit!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Sherry - I was about to make a comment similar to yours (except many 'wine snobs' cannot even discern the first bottle's true quality) and then remembered the earlier blind and when given a choice, I will always go smutty.:)

  35. So where was she in mid-July? lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh please, goopy, i invite you to my house. i won't even bother with the 20 shit. you get irish rose i will purchase already opened from a wino.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Who was it that pours cheap wine into expensive bottles to fool her friends?

    ReplyDelete
  38. What an ignoramus. You can get some great wine for $20 a bottle. And if she hated the wine, she could have arranged for the expensive stuff in a much nicer way.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Gwyneth is very lucky something really bad didn't happen to her that night. Very few juries would convict that hostess for darn near anything she did or arranged after that moment.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Such a pretentious snot.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You can get great wine for under $20 a bottle. I love The Middle Sister, Cupcake, Frog's Leap, and even Yellowtail lines of wine. There are just so many...no need in being such a nasty wine snob! So does she think she's a sommelier now?!

    ReplyDelete
  42. That was crass and ill-mannered.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Such an insufferable twat. Good for her husband for cheating on her.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Shouldn't she be drinking purified water anyway???

  45. The most surprising thing about this is that someone actually invited her to a party! She's so obnoxious

The host should have planned ahead and had some Frenchesque labels whipped up, and affixed those to the cheapie bottles ... I doubt Goopy would even notice the difference between a $20, and $250, bottle of wine. Insufferable twat (whose 'Mom Jeans' were just heinous!!!).

    ReplyDelete
  47. You would not believe how cheap certain really wealthy, high-profile, well-connected people are. What Paltrow did was rude, but so was the person in NYC or Hollywood who probably has lots of money but still served cheap wine at a party (and you KNOW Paltrow doesn't mix with the peasants so it had to be someone at her economic level).

Actually, I can see Martha Stewart doing something like this back in the day.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I thought I was middle class but I must be white trash because I would not consider $20 cheap - my favourite Pinot Grigio, from Italy and very popular amongst white wine drinkers around here, is now $17.95 up from $16.95, and it is carried in the Vintages section of our government run Liquor Stores, that means it's not just any old plonk, a bunch of wine experts have given it a seal of approval. Now of course the restaurants sell it for $40 or more dollars. I dare say that most people couldn't tell the difference from a $250 dollar wine and a $20 dollar wine except perhaps in the case of champagne. And even the higher end champagnes are from $160 - $250 a bottle,

Good for Paltrow for her liver to be pickled with higher end fermented grapes or made by people who are just good at getting suckers to buy their wine that cost the same to make as the $20 bottle.

I'm thinking the party was boring Jennifer Aniston's party a month or so ago ...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Even when she's being kind she's insufferable.

    ReplyDelete
  52. 1) I took it as GP saying it in a joking manner.
    2) Anyone that buys enough wine can price out the bottle. You would be amazed at how people are screwed over at restaurants. There are restaurants that try and pass off cheap wine as top shelf wine.
    3) While it's nice that the host offered any wine at all, the host should have told her thank you but don't do it. It's the host's party. You wouldn't tell a restaurant what wine to have on their wine list or what to pair with the food.
    4) Hoarding is incredibly rude. I hate when people do that. I generally share what I'm given unless someone specified it is for me only.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Actually, it says a lot that the host was offering $20 wine at this party. Usually some wealthy people offer "cheap" wine and awful food to people they tolerate but don't like well enough to do better. So basically she doesn't rank well.

  54. The blind says the host spent what she could afford.

I don't think this is the worst thing Goop has done...I'd take the wine and run, let the rest of my guests enjoy her wine.

Wonder how Blythe would explain this behavior away?

  56. My favourite red wine is less than $20 and I've never met anyone who didn't like it. Deeeeeelish!

    ReplyDelete
  57. she makes me want to spew on her $95 white t-shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That is actually very nice of her. I really hate cheap red wine, tates like vinegar to me

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous5:31 AM

She must've been confused that the wine was being served out of a box. Goop doesn't know what she's missing if she's never played Goon Bag of Fortune.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I am SO adding her to my guest lists from now on! She's going to save me a bundle!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Works for me...come on in girl, let's party on the good stuff lol

    ReplyDelete
  62. the hostess should have emptied an expensive bottle (not down the drain!!!), poured the $20 red in it, then served Goop from that. She'd never know the difference, but she'd go on and on about how great it was.
