Blind Item #1

This B list mostly television actress from a very hot show who is also a writer is in negotiations to pay off some other writers who say she stole their work after mentoring them. Apparently mentoring meant getting their ideas and then taking them for her own.

  5. Yeah, this sounds like something Whitney Cummings would do.

  6. Dunham. Someone get her some teeth whitening strips, STAT!

  7. My first thought was Fey, but she is A list for sure. I'm going with Lena Dunham for this one.

  8. Plus, I think Fey has been in this business too long and is too smart to pull something like this…nor would she need to do it.

That Dunham woman just looks mean. Can't wait to see what atrocity she wears on the red carpet today.

  10. Sorry 0_0 :)

Dealing with Baldwin could lead anyone to their breaking point

  11. Blogger! I agree with the Dunham guess cause Fey has too much talent and ego to rip off kids and get caught ;-)
Just to be evenhanded, how about Chelsea Handler for scummy behavior?

@Steampunk Jazz - good guess about Handler - when she reads out the intros on her show, saying where such-and-such panel member is going to be performing, she always seems to do so with resentment / like she can't be bothered. And I've gotta say, a lot of those panelists are a lot funnier than her.

That said, she is nicer to her staff than most ... when she landed her new deal, she treated them all to bonuses (and there are over 100 of them).

    1. I hope not. I think she is one if the few genuine talents on TV for writing & acting - I hope it's not because she's using people.

  13. Lena invented and sold whole show to HBO.. I dont think she has to copy or steal anyone's work.

  14. Lena's only done one story, over and over again. It has to be her.

  15. The only writer guessed with a hot show is Lena Dunham.

  16. Not Mindy. Her show isn't hot, unfortunately. It's being cancelled,no?

    To make a clickable link:

First: "open" the command with a "Greater Than" sign ("<").

Then type, with no space after the "Greater Than" sign, a href=" Yes, you need the quotation mark in there.

Then past in the web address you're referring to, including the opening "http://" part.

Then type "> -- yes, that's closing the quotation mark you had above, and then the "Less Than" sign to close out the "Greater Than" sign you used before.

Then type or past in the URL, or just text if you prefer, like "This is where you'll find the story." VIP uses that method to link to pictures without "spoiling" them.

Then type a "Greater Than" sign "<", a Forward Slash ("/"), the letter "a" and a "Less Than" sign ">". (I don't think I can put those all together in an example: it will make this comment be rejected because it's "closing out" a link I didn't open.

So, to make an example, I'm going to substitute Parentheses for Greater Than and Less Than signs, and demonstrate what the code to make your link clicky looks like, then give you the really clicky version:

    (a href="http://pagesix.com/2014/01/11/lena-dunham-wants-to-have-therapy-sessions-with-struggling-writers/")http://pagesix.com/2014/01/11/lena-dunham-wants-to-have-therapy-sessions-with-struggling-writers/(/a)

Which, when you make those parentheses into Greater and Less than signs:

    And there you go!

    1. Oh my god oh my god oh my god...I have been waiting and waiting for some CDaNer to reveal the Secrets of the Clicky Thing. THANK YOU.

I am your Carol Burnett and you are my John Foster Dulles. (Which is definitely not a way of saying you're the most boring man in America, it says I love you...cheers.)

    2. Jonathan- I know this is a few days old so I doubt you'll ever see it, but when I see your name it makes me cringe. Your comments are condescending and you come off as constantly angry.

Just had to get this off my chest.

  18. Thx JAS most times I'm on this mobile which never allows me to do links at all and sometimes like earlier I play on a PC which except for here automatically makes links clicky.

  19. Definitely Dunham. Despite her pretensions about being a writer, she actually has almost no training or experience. This is the classic roman a clef syndrome: a writer who is a big hit telling a fictionalized version of their own life discovers they have no talent for creating original stories, so they start stealing from other writers.

  20. I'm practicing the hyperlink lesson

  21. Dunham created a character based on the sister of my college friend. She only changed the first name and made the person look and act just like her, apparently. So I wouldn't put this past her.

  22. Dunham. I read this elsewhere, only it was couched as if she hired writers to write the series, then "pulled a Sorkin" and took all the credit herself. The writers bitched about it and she told them they should have just been glad to work with her or something.

Yeah, she's a peach, that "voice of her generation."

  23. And for the record, look at the writers listed on 30 Rock. Fey had a bunch of them (including Community star Donald Glover) and they ALL got credit for their scripts.

Fey is far too smart to attempt to cheat other writers out of proper credit for their work (probably because this has happened to her in the past). She's also a great writer on her own, and an A-list actor. Not her.

  24. Fey's too decent a human being for that shit.

The same cannot be said for Dunham or Handler but this has to be Dunham. Her 15 minutes have to be almost up by now.
