Blind Item #10
This reporter who has a pretty big name works for a big news company that doesn't have a magazine but seems to have everything else gossip and entertainment related told publicists he would trade interviews with celebrities for positive remarks about whatever they were wearing no matter how hideous it actually was. Lots of publicists took him up on it. He had nothing negative to say about anyone. Real journalism being practiced over there.
The guy who stands next to Kelly Osbourne on Awards show?
ReplyDeleteSounds like E but not sure who reporter would be
ReplyDeleteAnderson Pooper?
ReplyDeleteWell that explains a lot.
ReplyDeleteSeacrest
ReplyDeleteReal journalism and E! "news" - that's good for a laugh!
ReplyDelete@Sugar, hush your mouth!
Ross Matthews the guy next to Kelly. Damn my names today dont know any....
ReplyDeletecnn - showbiz tonight?
ReplyDeleteThere's no journalism in entertainment journalism. There is PR or malicious gossip. One side has a movie, TV show or record to sell, the other has newspapers, magazines, TV shows & web clicks to sell.
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun but it isn't necessary for an informed electorate. The 1st Amendment doesn't come into play.

ReplyDeletewho is on red carpet for E?
ReplyDeleteTMZ's KHole coverage has made it abundantly clear that celebrity journalism and journalistic integrity go together about as well as me and curry.
ReplyDeletecorrect @lazyday it is all fluff and promotion, so this blind was kind of confusing.
ReplyDeletehowever, e's fashion police feeds off that catty, sarcastic, lets all point and laugh, kind of humor. i can definitely see someone trading an interview to avoid getting cackled at by plastic face and anorexic ant.
Ross was always pretty funny during his Leno segments. His interviews with the Super Bowl teams a couple years ago is amazing.
ReplyDelete@Seven: Those were my thoughts as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's important that entertainment news remain covered by "Real Journalism", because that's what it's all about.
And also funny that Enty-double-reveals would take such a stand to defend integrity in gossip journalism.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the future is not so gloomy after all.
You don't ask for interviews. You ask for cold hard $$$.
ReplyDeleteSome people are so dumb...
It's definitely Ross Matthews. I don't think this Blind relates to the Grammys, but rather a previous event. I can't recall which one it was, but I do remember him interviewing heaps of people which seemed very impressive to me at the time as he doesn't normally and I though he must've had something to prove (maybe he was hoping the network would keep him on at these things, or renew his show).
ReplyDeleteRegardless, it doesn't make sense to have Ross commentate at these things with Kelly - they should get George Kotsiopollous (sp?) to do it, although, as he's a stylist, that might be seen as a conflict of interest.
So that explains why people gushed over Katy Perry's hideous dress.
ReplyDeleteRoss Matthews is " a pretty bug name"??? Eh? :(
