Today's Blind Items - Lonely

This is a short but sad story about a celebrity who used to be close to A list. He was and still is a celebrity/actor/reality star. While most people in his position would be enjoying the fruits of their success and partying non-stop our celebrity lives alone and travels alone and stays in hotel rooms alone. Although he has some friends he doesn't interact and because of childhood trauma he just prefers to not interact unless he is on stage or being paid to do so. He is still in demand but as the years go by, he is less willing to face his demons and much prefers to just spend as much time as he can in his home, cut off from the world with just a television and a sofa and a bed and himself. In a world of excess and frivolity, this guy is the opposite. Whenever I see him wandering through the airport or hiding in the corner of an event alone and uncomfortable all I want to do is give the guy a hug.

    1. Was thinking the same, and trying to make it work, but he has no problem going to parties/after theatre events in NYC.
And he is A list, not close to, because of all the awards he's won.

    1. None of men named above huggable.

    2. Or Tom Green? No idea about the trauma, but there aren't too many people who fit the "at one time almost a list celebrity, actor and reality star" that fell off but still work.

  10. I don't think wanting to be left alone equals "dealing with demons."

  11. What about Harvey Feirstein.

    2. No way. He's super sociable. I know one of the producers of Kinky Boots!

  12. Which comedian has had a reality show? Jay Mohr?

    1. Mohr is still married to Nikki Cox, the hot chick who farmed up her face. He has a pretty popular podcast, still acts, two young kids, still big stand up draw.
I think that Wayne Brady guess is pretty great...otherwise, hmn.

  13. No one would want to give Sizemore a hug. He's mean as a snake.

  14. Now I've got "Lonely Boy" in my head...

  15. I'm switching my guess from Joe Piscopo to Artie Lange.

  17. Not sure what the big deal is with being alone. Some people like it that way.

  18. Dwight Yoakam? Was he on any reality shows?

  19. Has JC Chasez ever been on a reality show?

  20. Joaquin Phoenix. Trauma being River's death...he was a teenager when this happened, technically childhood??

    1. Unknown-rivers whole life was one big trauma. His parents involved kids in batshit cult, and pimped out kids very very young to earn money. This is why they are all messed up. Rivers death not only thing he dealing with.

  21. So, could still fit? It just says, "because of childhood trauma", not one specific event...(ha, could be a typo though).

Sad sad sad. Kittens pic badly needed.

  23. JC Chasez is not alone. He has a girl group "Girl Radical" - he is always promoting them heavy on social media and out in L.A

  24. Obviously, this is Gabe Kaplan, actor, comedian, awesome reality show hero. Hello, "Battle of the Network Stars", anyone? They put the jiggle in reality.

    "Childhood" trauma: John Travolta

  25. Enty weird wording - he has some friends but doesn't like to interact... with his friends? Probably not.

This guy could also be an introvert, that's all.

  26. How is someone painfully shy an an introvert, voluntarily a "reality star" too, makes no sense given the setup.... dumb

    Howie Mandel?

  29. Except for the "reality" part I'd Keanu.

What actor did reality TV and isn't married?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Big clue being "on stage". Theatre actor, comic, performer.

  31. I'm thinking this could be the son on a reality show, who couldn't say no or was young enough not to know better. Jack Osbourne?

  33. Just because he wants to be alone doesn't mean he's unhappy. I don't know why so many people think this way. People who feel the need to be with friends all the time never seem to get criticized for being too reliant on other people, or whatnot. This dude probably doesn't want a hug from a stranger at an airport! I wouldn't.

    1. Greta Garbo once said. "I never said 'I want to be alone. I said 'I want to be left alone. That makes all the difference." That's what you said reminded me of.

  34. Sometimes...in the midst of all the screaming and diapers, this sounds AWESOME!!

  35. Sounded like Keanu until you threw "reality star" into the mix. And I think Keanu is more scarred by the deaths of his baby and girlfriend than anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @naughtynurse Keanu's been a private person for a while....not just since the girlfriend/baby deaths which happened around 2000 - 2001.

  37. I don't think alone always equals lonely.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I also don't think alone equals lonely. I'm the same way. If I get the chance I just curl up in bed with a good book, I don't really like other people. People seem to be either needy or mean, so why bother? When I'm at my happiest alone?

  39. You know, with the guy being a reality star, this shouldn't be so difficult to guess, but I am STUMPED!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I don't know why I thought of Corey Feldman for this. Probably because I'm stoned out of my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  41. How about Wayne Brady? I'd say he was close to A list during the days of Who's Line is it Anyway. He strikes me as someone who could be pretty quiet off camera.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Howie Mandel
    Howard Stern
    Ozzy Ozborn

    I think it is Howie

    ReplyDelete
  43. Howard Stern does spend many lonely nights on the couch, as his wife is out stalking red carpets to trot down, but he doesn't technically live alone.

I thought it might be Keanu-- there's that whole Sad Keanu meme. But has he ever done reality?

  45. what exactly happened in his childhood enty!!!

  46. Most of these were not almost A list they were. I think Joaquin would be,or I'd say it was him. I think MaCauley Culkin also was.Otherwise thinking someone like Crispin Glover;but I have heard some about Tom Green and he might fit this well or how about Louie Anderson for another option. Steve Martin and Jim Carrey have also been known to be rather loners but A list.

  47. I think the problem is most people don't know the actual definition of introvert and extrovert. An introvert is someone who acquires energy by having time alone, an extrovert acquires energy by spending time with people. I have an outgoing nature, but am an introvert and feel myself stressing out if I don't get enough alone time. Have plenty of friends yadda, yadda, just need to recharge my batteries on my own. Once I read the proper definitions I was able to understand my friends and myself so much better.

    ReplyDelete
  48. As much as I love Crispin Glover (he was amazing in River's Edge), I can't see him as close to A list.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Howie Mandel? He has a separate house from his family and is a noted OCD sufferer.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wandering through the airport? Like wandering around a mall? Nobody does this. And "partying non-stop" isn't any indicator of success or happiness. The non-stop partiers are often real messes.
