Blind Items Revealed
February 25, 2013
This former A list mostly movie actor who would probably still be A list if someone would actually give him a role and not be scared of him or his lack of fans has been hitting the booze again and to top that off has also started taking several different kinds of pills that his psychiatrist prescribed. None of any of this seems to be working because he yelled at two people on the street the other day for simply walking by him and staring.
Mel Gibson
Back in the day I adored him.
ReplyDeleteI still do. There, I've said it. I genuinely wish him well.
DeleteI mourn the loss of the beauty that was Mel Gibson in the 80s. He was a major figure in my fantasies.
ReplyDeleteMine too Meanie. God he was hawt.
DeleteWell, he was in Machete Kills. It bombed but he was in it.
ReplyDeleteOh and he has Mad Max and The Expendables 3 coming up.
He and Stallone probably get along very well together.
remember his "butt scene". That was thee butt of the 80s to str8 women EVERYWHERE! my mom refuses to believe anything i tell her about his shitty shitty-ness. Between his butt and the passion of the christ movie he is her 2nd god lol
ReplyDeleteI just watched the first two lethal weapons this morning. I miss that Mel.
ReplyDeleteWasn't he always a bit unstable? I recall seeing him on Carson discussing how similar he was to his Lethal Weapon character.
ReplyDeleteHe was so beautiful in the original Mad Max. which my parents made me see in the theatre. I was about 7 years old.
ReplyDeleteAnd how did you feel about that?!
Deleteand Gallipoli, ~sigh~
ReplyDelete@Nemesis: He is Lethal Weapon Mel now, batshit crazy, drunk and probably suicidal.
ReplyDeleteCount, but lethal mel wasnt mean or racist. Mel 2.0 is. I wish he'd get it together too. He must have some demons eating at him.
DeleteOoooo @ Vera Loved Gallipoli!
ReplyDeleteI had a total Mel Gibson film festival with a movie where he played a 'simple" guy ( didn't go full retard) and fell in love with Piper Laurie who was quite a bit older. Movie was Tim. he was cute in that too.
ReplyDeleteOh also "The Year of Living Dangerously" . Hot there with Sigourney Weaver.
Love the full retard comment! What a great movie!
DeleteOh Lord Sherry he was just a force of nature in his hotness I mourn his loss as well there's this one scene in Mad Max I that....well anyway opening a window now but he was awesome!

DeleteI m highjacking the thread but Peter O'Toole just died ...
ReplyDelete@Renoblondee--sigh, me too!
ReplyDeleteAw, Peter O'Toole. Time to watch My Favorite Year...
ReplyDelete@ Babu, I just heard that on the radio here. Dear old Peter O'Toole gone yet a shit like Gibson still steals oxygen. Theres no justice.
ReplyDeletePeter O'Toole?! Sad...
ReplyDelete@Vera, I love My Favorite Year! Definitely timeto re-watch, along with another fave Lawrence of Arabia.
Gallipoli, Year of Living Dangerously, two great Mel films. I've seen Tim too, Mel did a good job of not overplaying it, I only had a chance to see it once, rare find.
ReplyDeleteObviously his drinking issue like JRM is a symptom of great psychological issues and in fact magnifies those issues. God forbid Mel is mixing other medication with the alcohol.
The first Mad Max, yes happy Max before those thugs changed his life forever. Poor Goose. Apparently the actor that played the Toecutter in that movie is in Mad Max 4. Dude is still acting.
Tina I know no one who ever saw that movie. Sadly I was robbed and that movie got taken as it was in the VCR at the time. As much as I'd like to see The Toecutter again I'm sure the movie will be shite. Idea has been played.
DeleteVic, you are right there, there s no justice ...
ReplyDeleteI hope some channel here in the UK will broadcast Lawrence of Arabia ... oooh the pre-teenage swooning I had with a gf of mine (when her mother told her he was gay, she had such an epic meltdown)
A while ago enty described him as forever A because of his body of work and name recognition.
ReplyDeleteMel was always sort of unstable. Remember that he got the Mad Max part because he had a black eye after a fight the night before the audition.
ReplyDeleteI never could stand Mel Gibson
ReplyDeleteI belatedly watched Edge of Darkness, and was really surprised at how good it was. I really loved and discovered Ray Winston, even though I had trouble understanding what he was saying. I loved this movie. Wonderful revenge movie.
ReplyDeleteMel helped RDJ. Maybe RDJ can help Mel now. They are close friends.
ReplyDeleteMel Gibson is a piece of shit. I cannot fathom how stupid a person must be to have any good will toward his racist, misogynist ass.
ReplyDeleteLiddy: He didn't pick Murtaugh to be his parnter, they were forced together. It wasn't until after a few near death experiences, and a shared hatred of Gary Busey, that they started to get along.
ReplyDeleteMel helped a lot of people in the 80s and 90s, not just RDJ. Oh, for those that don't know, Mel put up the insurance that no one else would, to allow him to act again, but he was a big support for Jodie Foster, Christopher Reeve's family, I've heard he tried to help Robin Williams with his cocaine addiction, and more. I think he's more mentally ill than racist/misogynist. Not that that's an excuse for a lot of his actions, but some stuff has been lied about/boosted, as a way to bring him down, by some top studio heads who wanted him shut out. Sad ending of his career, I think.
ReplyDeleteI agree with di about Mental > Racist. I figure Mel hates himself for the being mentally ill and it manifests in hating others. I don't think he hates them because of race or religion, I think he just cuts to the lowest common denominator to try to make the target hurt as much as he does.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading from Heaven to Mel by Joe Esterhauz (sp) I think Mel is just a product of his father's hate for jews and the modernization of Catholicism. He was born into a very angry family and just carries the weight of the family illness. When Mel tried to convince Joe that the Jewish tribes did human sacrifices when writing Maccabee it was a bit much to bear realizing how sick Mel and his family was for believing it.
ReplyDeleteHe is also a very, very lonely person and knows anyone that is around him is there because they are on his payroll. His hate drives everyone away. When his youngest daughter is old enough to see who her father really is, she will be gone too.
You make it sound like his meds are part of the problem. I doubt that. Psychiatric meds save people's lives and help it to be possible to live meaningful daily lives. Don't go getting all Scientolgy on us!!
ReplyDeleteIt's the drinking, crack and hormones.
One of my girlfriends was at a bar in a podunk town called Modesto, CA...and Mel was there. Apparently he was buying cattle. Anyway he was friendly and flirty and went home with a girl there. Funny part was she lived with her parents.
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ, Turlock is the podunk town. Modesto is the big city.
DeleteThis is really sad. Mel isn't a bad guy- he just has mental issues and addiction issues. He needs meds and not self-medicating with alcohol. A lot of people say stupid untrue crap when they are drunk and out of sorts and off meds. the guy needs help, and he needs stability, and he none of that. Does anyone else remember Tequila Sunrise SI Kurt Russel and Michelle Pfeiffer?! Mel made the beautiful man who is Kurt look like a distant second choice... He was gorgeous ....
