Blind Item #5

This Academy Award winner and forever an A lister slapped his girlfriend so hard a few weeks ago she lost a tooth. She never called the cops though. She told her friend who told me that she is holding out for a wedding and a secure future. Oh, and that the actor rarely showers and is the most selfish lover she has ever had.

  1. Was her tooth already loose or something?

  2. Readers Digest version.. girlfriend is dating him for his money and will do anything it take to get her hands on it.
She's as bad as he is, perhaps even worse for enabling him to think it's perfectly ok.

  3. Is Russell Crowe still married? I'll go with him or del Torro.

  4. If she's willing to put up with that kind of abuse for financial gain, then she deserves whatever happens to her.

  5. Depp fits everything except the violent streak... I always thought he had the reputation for being super nice?

  6. Co-sign on Penn!

  7. how can you lose a tooth with a slap?

  8. if he's Penn, the girlfriend is Madonna (if you believe the blinds of their comeback together)

  9. Depp isn't Oscar winner

  10. FrenchGirl, one way is to 'enhance' a story with imaginary details ;)

  11. Madonna made over 50 million on her tour last summer. The last thing she needs is Sean's money.

She isn't the one speaking at insurance conventions for the paycheck.

I hope it isn't Clint Eastwood.

  12. From wiki...

Sean Justin Penn (born August 17, 1960) is an American actor, screenwriter, and film director, also known for his left-wing political and social activism (including humanitarian work). He is a two-time Academy Award winner for his roles in Mystic River (2003) and Milk (2008), as well as the recipient of a Golden Globe Award for the former and a Screen Actors Guild Award for the latter.

(Bolding mine.) Um, no. She shouldn't be putting up with that shit, she should be walking away, she should be calling the police... but to say she's WORSE for "enabling him" is no better than saying she was asking for it. It excuses his responsibility for his own actions, and yes, the responsibility ultimately lies with his actions.

  14. A tooth, really? A veneer or a cap, maybe. But not a tooth.

  15. Madonna is light years richer than Penn.

  16. @Snapdragon... Ya but she has to take responsibility for her actions or lack thereof as well. Suffice it to say they deserve each other.

Video of Sean Penn flipping out on fan last week:

    What a POS.

  17. What about BCoop & his little 20 yr old gf???

    ReplyDelete
  18. Snapdragon, precisely. She SHOULD be doing a lot of things but isn't and is therefore complicit for a selfish reason - she wants his money.

  19. no oscar for Cooper

  20. A Lister should not be doing this, however, girlfriend should LEAVE AND FAST. How desperate are to you to tolerate this treatment, all to marry what you perceive to be a gravy train? This really angers me. They deserve each other.

  21. I was thinking someone older, like Al Pacino or Jack Nicholson?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh and Depp may be a lot of things but pretty sure beater is Not one of them. And he didn't win an Oscar.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Definitely Penn, roid rage!

    ReplyDelete
  24. depp has never won an oscar. nominated but never actually received the award.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You guys are right. Didn't think about the Oscar thing, and yeah, I've not heard of him being violent either. The stinky part threw me!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Obviously the woman wants his $$. Why would you put up with someone being violent and lousy in bed? No one deserves to be hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  27. No one, not even a gold digger, "deserves" abuse. He might lose his money, but she could lose her life.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I was gonna say Al Pacino since forever an A Lister implies someone middle aged or higher.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Can't imagine Penn being lousy in bed. Surely not Pacino.

    ReplyDelete
  30. If it's Penn, and it sounds like it to me...her ploy may not work, I thought he liked his women a little feistier, ala Madonna and Robin.
She might do better if she fought back.
All this assuming she doesn't find the brains to just leave.

  31. Im always curious about these stars that smell really bad. Do you think it's because they just believe the hype and then think they are not human and don't smell?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Y'all know that the textbook psychological response of an individual in an abusive relationship is to rationalize the abuse (and their reasons for staying with the abuser) in any number of convoluted ways, right? Ways that *often* include a component of financial stability? I know that part of the fun of this site is passing judgment on dumb celebs, but at the point where we're comfortable jumping right to the conclusion that an abuse victim "deserves it" maybe its time to pump the breaks just a little...

    ReplyDelete
  33. when it's about smelly...I usually think of Penn....and it doesn't say bad in bed, it says selfish--he seems like a selfish guy all around when it comes to women.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Car-his story is he's never been really loved by any woman. Whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't even know how to write your name, lil maybe? And Snapdragon but I totally agree. How can enabling someone be as bad as abusing someone?? Unhealthy, yes, but check yourself.

    I saw it and I understand, @babo.

  42. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. While no one chooses to become a victim, it is almost always a choice to remain one. While "deserve" may be harsh, once you make that choice you do in fact earn what happens next.

    ReplyDelete
  43. He smacked you? And you're staying...hoping for marriage?? F.U. You give women a bad name.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @bellaluna DeNiro is already married.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Selfish -doesn't care if you get pleasure or not. Smelly. And an abuser? That's not a trifecta you want to win.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Avoiding "blaming the victim" isn't a preoccupation of the scientists who continue to study, comprehend and define abusive relationships. That part is political. There is nothing wrong with anyone in the comments questioning this woman's judgement, involvement, motivation in this abusive relationship. We don't have enough information here for anyone to fascistically put the breaks on scrutinizing the victim. There are many forms of abuse, sadism and masochism. The act of dehumanizing someone as an otherwise unbearable source of riches is it's own brand of abusive. A scientist, as opposed to an establishment feminist, is more likely to suggest that abusive relationships are engaged in by 2 guilty parties ( with the emphasis on the abuser committing illegal physical violence as the one punishable by law and the victim given treatment to encourage severing ties and not pursuing these relationships henceforth) Haven't you ever heard it takes 2 to tango?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Lol @ "fascistically" and citing an idiomatic expression as science. Men's rights activists are the softest.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Pacino. As a woman who lived in domestic violence for 15 yrs, I can emphatically say that no one specifically ASKS or DESIRES to be battered, but you sure as can put yourself into predictable situations and refuse to leave these situations for more reasons than any fear or Stockholm Syndrome type mentality. Some people choose to stay in these situations because they feel they justify it by their other desires.
