You would be surprised at how few bartenders can make a Sazerac.

  3. The Sazerac is a local New Orleans variation of an old-fashioned cognac or whiskey cocktail, named for the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac that was its original prime ingredient. The drink is some combination of cognac or rye whiskey, absinthe or Herbsaint, and Peychaud's Bitters; it is distinguished by its preparation method.[2] It is sometimes referred to as the oldest known American cocktail,[3] with origins in pre–Civil War New Orleans, though there are much earlier published instances of the word cocktail.

  5. Hell, in my neck of the woods, it's tough finding a bartender who knows to use bitters when making a Manhattan. Some have enough trouble with rum and Coke.

    i think cooking meth wld be easier than properly preparing Absinthe.

    i had a bottle of Absinthe w/ Van Gogh on it. i can't even pronounce the name, but it was delish!
    we just drank it str8 & the house looked like a crime scene by the end of the nite.

  15. death at 2am is what i named the drink i had at the most outrageous party i attended post 1970s. absinthe (home brewed) and champagne. lets just say not everyone remembered the agreements that were made that night but it was a rager... never to be forgotten.
