Josh Brolin Goes To Rehab

It took him long enough to go this time but Josh Brolin has checked himself into rehab after getting into a drunken fight earlier this month. His daughter said she wanted him to go and he has been before but obviously has not had much luck. Apparently Josh has other substance abuse problems in addition to the booze which is why he chose rehab and didn't just go cold turkey. He did manage to stop drinking the past two weeks but was over compensating with other drugs and needed some kind of professional help.

I say good for him and hopefully he comes out of this thing a better person. Well, at least not an abusive addict any longer. That would be a good start.

  4. Is this a real rehab or a Lindsay Lohan rehab?

  5. I agree he probably has other issues but saying rehab isn't for booze alone is ridiculous. Depending on your level of dependence, rehab might be the only safe way or...imagine this....YOU CAN'T QUIT ON YOUR OWN. Good dog I need coffee.

  6. If only rehab made you into a decent human being...

  7. If he's boozing that hard, he needs blow to keep going and Xanies to come down.

Change your drug of choice to weed people. Only side effects are laughter and munchie weight. And with Visine, you can get away with driving on it.

  8. "Apparently Josh has other substance abuse problems in addition to the booze which is why he chose rehab and didn't just go cold turkey." FYI, going cold turkey from alcohol, for some, can be life threatening. You don't need more than one addiction to qualify for inpatient treatment.

  9. Bran from Goonies. Sigh. And isn't it weird to see his "bro" Mikey running around fat in Mordor too? (And of course, RuuuuuuuuudyRuuuudy)

    Yeah. I'm old.

  10. I hope he gets some quality treatment and comes out of this better. I can't guarantee he won't be abusive, though. Sometimes, a douche is a douche, with or without alcohol.

  11. Hopefully he quits before he jacks up his complexion. Stating this as a raging heterosexual; he's a good looking guy. He doesn't look like the run-of-the-mill pretty boys. From that pic, he appears to be aging well.

  12. KellyLynn is correct. Abusers are often still abusers with or without the booze.

  14. He is a dick, and will probably now be a sober dick. Just because he goes to rehabdoesnt mean he has a personality transplant.

  15. But also sometimes it is the booze that brings out the violence. I hope he gets straight.

  16. So it seems he's the answer to the blind about the son of hollywood parents whose kids were begging him to go to rehab.

  19. He just was provoked by people around him.

A bro(lin) should be able to slip once in a while without being condemned for all eternity, for fuck's sake.

  20. Ever since certain commentors (they who shall not be named) pointed out how differently Josh Brolin is treated as opposed to Chris Brown, and how completely opposite the comments are, that's all I can see. Especially as Enty goes out of his way to tell us what an true POS Josh Brolin is. Dang you, JC!

    1. Not from me talks. They are cut from same cloth. I will say brown really cant seem to get a hold of himself and like brolin, has huge sense of entitlement. I dont give a rats ass what happens to either one of them.

  21. And now Brolin becomes a member of the Alec Baldwin Club - a rehabbed asshole.

The problem with drunks and addicts is that once they're off the drugs or booze, they are left with the same shitty habits that enabled them to drug or drink - lying, cheating, stealing, fighting, and the rest of it. Afraid Josh Brolin is going to be an asshole for life. Just like Alec Baldwin, a rehabbed cocaine addict.

    1. Alec wasnt the addict, it was/is brother.

  22. Bull f'ing shit. I lived with a serial abuser for a very long time. Brolin is a piece of garbage, just like Chris Brown. No sympathy, and blaming the drugs and alcohol is ridiculous.

  23. +1 Di

Sometimes, an asshole is just an asshole.

  24. Why stay "with a serial abuser for a very long time," di butler?

That doesn't seem like a good choice, as that seems to be more than slipping once in a while.

Maybe kids. They might have no family anymore because someone had to screw it all up.

    1. Prolonged, there are many different readins to stay in abusive relationship as there are abused women. Maybe she mistakes it for love. Maybe he is emtionally blackmailing her, ie, you'll never see your kids again. Maybe their situation becomes completely normal for her. Maybe at first she found it exciting but now its just a horror. Sometimes the abuser has the women so isolated-keeping her shoes, money,-that she is left without resources to leave. I wouldnt judge until you've walked in their shoes.
And look how many people here are wishing him luck and sucess. Brown looks and acts like a punk, but the abuser can come in any form-a good looking actor even. That is the point-the abuser can look perfectly normal.

  25. All I could think from this photo, is, "My GOD, he's a handsome gent."

  26. auntliddy, I didn't get why di butler stayed in an abusive situation and wanted to know. Judgement looks different to me.

I'm aware of several different reasons this might've happened and you mentioned most of them while adding some others.

A slow increase in abusive behaviour could mask the obvious, should be apparent at some point though. It's probably more difficult without an opinion from the outside.

I just hope you don't restrict abusive behaviour to men only ("her shoes, money"). It's rather human and thus a bit ugly here and there.

  27. Pro, oh teah, the abuser can be female, it cld be your mother. Its jusy a horrible shitty situation. I agree its hard to know why one stays. Why did Diane Lane stay? She has acess to get away, she isnt stupid. I dont always get it either. Thanks for interesting conversation. :)
