How To Steal Jewelry Without Doing Anything

Apparently to steal thousands of dollars of jewels from Fred Segal all you have to do is give them a call and tell them you are Nick Cannon's assistant. Someone from Fred Segal will load up the car with jewels and drive to where you are and as long as you have someone dressed as a security guard at a nice hotel they will give you the jewels and wait while you go get the money. That is exactly what happened over the weekend when a man called the store and said he worked for Nick Cannon. An employee brought some jewels over to the Roosevelt Hotel where the caller said Nick was staying. You know, there, instead of the home he has here and when the employee was met by a person dressed as a security guard they gave them the jewles and waited downstairs for payment which never came.

Let me know the next time you can go to a jewelry store and have them give you the goods and you tell them you are going out to your car to get the money or will bring you the money the next day. Probably won't work but it worked for this guy. Lindsay Lohan is probably speed dialing jewelers as we speak.

  1. When I read the title I thought this was going to be about Lindsey Lohan.

  2. Oh hell, I can't even order flowers for my mom's birthday over the phone without providing all sorts of information.

Maybe I need to mask my voice and say "I WORK FOR BACON RANCH!" from now on.

I can only imagine how many heads rolled because of that.
Why Nick? Why not someone more..dunno. Why him? I'd pull a Keith Urban out of my hat before I would say Nick.

    1. I can't even pre-order a pizza from Papa Murphy's without giving them a callback number.

  3. Bacon Ranch, I think the person went with Nick's name because it wouldn't seem out of the ordinary for him to request a bunch of jewelry because the jeweler could think they were for Mariah.

  4. There was some stupid going on here. Fred Segal for sending some poor schlump over alone with a selection of jewels. Not demanding to stay with the jewels while the selection was made, or meeting Mr. Cannon. Believing that the entire selection was being purchased, and waiting downstairs for the money.

I'm guessing they'll change their policy on this.

  5. He pulled off a perfect scam. I have huge amounts of respect thieves that can pull impressive heists with good planning and little to no victims. Good on him! Props.
