Gwyneth Paltrow Doesn't Care About You
Here is an interesting question. Should a celebrity care about you? One the one hand you could argue they should care about you and what you think because it is your decisions, especially with dollars that decide whether the celebrity is going to be successful. I think there is a reason why Mel Gibson has not made many movies in the past few years and the ones he has made bombed. The public does not like him and will not pay money to see anything that has his name attached to it whether the end product is good or not.
You can argue that celebrities shouldn't care about you because they are still human and they need to live their lives for them and the only thing that truly matters are the friends and family that surround them and not strangers. That is a tough argument to make though. It is especially a tough argument for Gwyneth Paltrow to make because she relies not only on the public to support her by buying tickets to her movies but also to purchase all the items she plugs on her website and where she derives a great deal of income from purachses she is trying to influence.
In an interview with Red, The Goopster says, "If your partner comes to you — or your best friend — and says, ‘Listen, I want to talk about something you did that hurt me, or I think you could improve,’ sit down and listen to what they have to say. But some friend of so-and-so’s — it’s like, who gives a s**t?”
The Goopster has obviously taken option 1 which is why she is getting less work and the work she is getting is not as successful.
Nice O face.
ReplyDeleteActually what she has done is smart. Instead of trying to carry a movie she got into a supporting role in a huge franchise with Iron Man.
ReplyDeleteSo the work and paychecks are guaranteed and it's a built in hit.
I hate enty just made me defend her.
Damn you, FSP!! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's not even Goop
ReplyDeleteyeah, I believe that's naomi watts
ReplyDeletelol BJ is right it's Naomi Watts. I thought something was off with that picture.
ReplyDeleteNW from The Ring
ReplyDeleteI don't care about her, either, so we're even.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Watts have to do with this?? And I'm fine with GOOPY Fishsticks not caring about me cuz I know....I will always win the battle of who could care less when it comes to her sorry ass.
ReplyDeleteGoopy's O Face
ReplyDeleteGoopy is right in that.
ReplyDeleteThe Enty who can't tell one blonde celebrity from the other is on deck first this morning. This one needs to lose his/her job. How hard can it be to do a Google search on Goopy photos?
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhkay...I can put up with the poorly written blinds and almost reveals but SERIOUSLY it's a gossip blog - you should be able to tell celebs apart.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Enty put that as a joke? Does this Enty have a sense of humour?
ReplyDeleteI liked Goop in Seven, especially that last bit in the box
ReplyDeleteGoop has never been in my box!!
DeleteBut that's the best goopys head has ever looked!
DeleteThat's everyone's favorite movie role/part.
DeleteGwyneth has sold herself as this ethereal beauty who only eats tree root salad. She slowly but surely keeps putting her own foot in her mouth with things like "my kids don't eat any carbs and they've learned to deal with that certain hunger that comes along with it."
ReplyDeleteI think she's a stuck-up rich 17 year old at heart. I really hope Vanity Fair publishes that article.
Honestly, I don't care that Gwyneth doesn't care. I don't care about what people who don't know me think about me, so why should she care about what people who don't know her think about her.
ReplyDeleteWhether or not the public wants to see her, someone will always hire her for something and she will always make the gossip columns somehow.
Call me a bitch but I understand what she is saying. If you're a celeb, you are surrounded with fame whores trying to shove themselves up your ass hoping to strike gold.I care about my friends and family, if you are a friend of a friend and not my friend it is probably for a reason so don't come to me with a list of ways you think I could improve. Shit, I am not a celeb and I wouldn't care about that either. You don't have to be a bitch about it, but why do people get mad when celebs don't want to entertain every single person that crosses their paths? Treating people with kindness and respect is a totally different thing than giving audience to anyone who knows someone who laid eyes on you.
ReplyDeleteStill hate this biotch though, don't get me wrong.
+1 @ JSierra
DeleteI'm sitting at JSierra's table on this one.
ReplyDeleteme too @sugar @jsierra
ReplyDeleteShe doing exactly what she wants to be doing. I don't see her wanting to work more than she is. I would be more shocked if she cared what strangers thought about her, people with low self esteem might care about such things but this is not Gwynnie.
ReplyDelete1) Why is Naomi Watts pic on this article???
ReplyDelete2) I'm pretty sure GP is working MORE now than she did five years ago.
3) Why should I care about if GP cares about what strangers think? If she said that she did, we would be calling her a fake, image conscious twit (ok, more like this is further proof that she is a fake, image conscious twit).
Make room for me at the JSierra table please.
ReplyDeleteWould anyone like some wine? I also have hard liquor.
ReplyDeleteJ, you know I will have a drink with you any time! And totes agree with your opinion on this one.
DeleteSIGH....
ReplyDelete+1@JSierra.
JSierra, I'll be drinking white wine at your table, & hi everybody, am awake at 3am, blergh.
ReplyDeleteFleeting thoughts...
ReplyDelete1. Obviously Goop doesn't care about Naomi
2. Lemonheads "6ix"
3. I don't care about her
4. +1 Sugar and JSierra
Fish: I heart you for the Lemonheads 6ix ref. soupy Sales my friend...
DeleteWe're even. She doesn't care about me, I don't care about her. So what?
ReplyDelete*shrugs shoulders* Her response sounds totally reasonable and healthy to me.
ReplyDeletePaltrow can't care about me b/c she doesn't know me. Nor does any other celeb. None of them care about me. It's not personal. I don't need them to care, I have other, real people in my life to do that. I sleep just fine at night and go to the movies w/o hesitation.
And how did Naomi Watts get involved in this?
Jsierra, please make room for me! I have a feeling this group could rival the Algonquin Round Table.
ReplyDeleteWhy should she? I am not overly interested in her either. Its fine with me!
ReplyDeleteI think it's the kind of question they like to ask unpopular people. She's not saying she doesn't care about random people, she's saying people in the periphery of her life don't affect her decisions. And why should they?
ReplyDeleteWell I don't care about her either..
ReplyDeleteNaomi What's?!
ReplyDeletepretty sure that's Naomi Watts
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. Why do people care what she thinks? I don't think much of her at all. So, I couldn't care less what she thinks of me or anyone else. She's really never in my thoughts. I was taught by my mom not care what other people thought about me, as long as I was a good person and made the best choices for me. That's self-esteem issues when you care what other people think of you.
ReplyDeleteCalm down everybody. I'm pretty sure this picture is part of the Entys' oh-so-popular "Almost" series. We have "Almost Reveals," this is "Almost a Picture of Gwyneth."
ReplyDeleteSoon, some might engage in "Almost Clicking On the Link."
It's absolutely delusional for ANYONE to care about strangers enough to try and alter who they are for them. Think about it. It would be a lot of work to be everything to everyone. If you like the movie - go see it. If you like the song - buy it. BUT please for God's sake don't be some crazy f*ck who thinks they have a relationship with an entertainer.
ReplyDeleteWhat does 'care about you' mean, exactly? Is Paltrow supposed to personally care about every individual who has seen her in a film? I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteWhile it's understandable that a celeb may not care about individual fans, they certainly should at least make a damn good effort to SEEM like they care about their fanbase as a whole. (If they want to stay marketable, that is.)
ReplyDeleteIf she does not give a sh**t about others' opinions, why did she start the Goopster, a medium solely devoted to her shoving her sh**t and her opinions down our throats?
ReplyDeleteJust asking.
At worst, it's the LEAST offensive thing she's done/said. Removing the Haterade altogether, it's... not wrong.
ReplyDeleteEnty and more will bash those who must have the fame and adulation. Rightfully so. So, GP seems to be saying "It only matters what those closest to us think." This is bad?
Look, she's still an elitist b****, but on this? Meh.
That's an awful lot of extrapolation, to go from Paltrow not bowing to a stranger's criticism, to "doesn't care about you."
ReplyDeleteLOL, I almost wonder if this Enty is secretly one of Paltrow's publicists, and wrote this as reverse psychology to get us to defend her!
Isn't that Naomi Watts?
ReplyDeleteGoopy is flakey ... even her website is written by someone else (she just oversees its content).
ReplyDeleteAnyone who goes through life thinking they're better than everyone else just doesn't deserve ANY sort of publicity.
JSierra - I'll sit too. Stiff shot please. Thank you kindly!
ReplyDeleteSome of the greatest artists of all time actively despised the people who bought their stuff, came to their shows, fawned all over them. One of them just died, Lou Reed. Bob Dylan acts like he's doing you a favor by taking your hundred bucks to hear him croak in key. Hating your audience is probably a lot more common than you think.
ReplyDelete@LetLoveRule Because you're not buying their pretend empathy when you're buying a movie ticket or whatever; you're buying a chance to look at whatever product they're a part of. People shouldn't maintain any illusions that someone cares about them just because other people know who they are, and I'd personally rather not have some stranger make like they care about me when they can't reasonably be expected to.
ReplyDeleteWas this a serious question? Goop does not owe me, or anybody who has paid a penny to watch any of her work, a thing. Not a thing. She's a person doing a job. The only responsibility she has is to the actual people signing the paychecks. If she wants to 'fuck you' to the fans then it's within her rights and the fans have no right to complain. They don't own celebrity just because they feed it. Although you'd expect a press officer to get fired right after the deed ;)
