Blind Item #7
This B- list mostly television actress from a very hit cable show and not much else was married to a B- list mostly television actor from a hit network show. They split. He says it is because she is actually a lesbian but was forced to marry a man by people close to her because they would freak out if they knew she was gay.
Moss and the SNL guy
ReplyDeleteThink @Kristin nailed it in one w Moss and Armisen. That CoS belief that there's no gay that can't be overcome by shoving it to the back of the closet.
DeleteCame here to say that, too. Moss and Fred Armisen with hit network show Portlandia.
ReplyDeleteHey Moss was the first I thought of too! And she's Xenu.
ReplyDeletethat was a quick marriage.....and divorce
ReplyDeleteBut she was amazing in The Lake, but since that's foreign Enty doesn't know about it.
ReplyDelete*Top of the Lake
ReplyDeleteThanks Sierra!
ReplyDeleteWhy would anybody freak out about Elizabeth Moss being gay? She's not exactly the ingenue type.
ReplyDeleteTop of the Lake ran on the Sundance Channel in America. Enty was watching Real Housewives of Sacramento at the time.
ReplyDeleteWeren't we all?
DeleteNow that I see what she looks like I'm not all that shocked.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean "what she looks like"? @sandybrook What do lesbians look like exactly?
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be fantastic if all the gay actors/celebs/singers, everyone came out all in the same day? Just press release after press release?
ReplyDeleteIt would be very hard for the bigots to keep up with who is gay and the large number of gay people in Hollywood all coming out at once would make it seem like no big deal. Then they'd all be free to be themselves because they'd all be out and supporting each other. Brilliant, I dare say.
@Sugar The Onion had an article with that exact scenario: Tom Hanks, Denzel, Michelle Kwan, Clive Owen, David Lee Roth, Ben Kingsley, etc all came out at the same time...
Delete....and they were all congratulated for their bravery by Hugh Jackman, a straight man.
Shit, really? I did not know that.
DeleteSugar wouldn't that be AWESOME!! Add some respected religious leaders and heads if state and you would have some major blown minds.
DeleteWhy would people freak out? Being gay is "fashionable" nowadays and if anything it would make them even *more* popular; it wouldn't hurt their career!
ReplyDeleteIdeally Pogue. But try telling that to all the closeted celebs out there who can't come out because of pressure from their people to keep them in the closet. If this blind is true, it's a perfect example.
Delete@Sugar - The earth would spin off of it's axis. :) Great idea though!
ReplyDeleteIt's Moss and Armison. But that doesn't mean it's true.
ReplyDeleteMoss is a Scientologist (I know, it bugs the shit out of me, too), so this explanation "fits". It's also awfully convenient for Armison to spread this around since he was reportedly unfaithful (heard this rumor many times but he also hit on my friend's boss at an event while he and Moss were dating).
My question is: If she was being coerced by Co$, what was Fred's excuse, huh?
Hey! Be nice to Sacramento!
ReplyDeleteShe isn't even trying to make herself look attractive Autumn.
ReplyDeleteI would not be surprised if she is.
ReplyDeleteI guess Fred couldn't phuck the gay out of her. God I hate her character on Mad Men. Then, I found out she was a Xenuite and I hate her more.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I have trouble believing Fred is straight. I kind of thought it was a double-beard situation.
ReplyDeleteArmisen is very talented, but a complete jerk.
ReplyDeleteI like Moss - she was pretty good in Top of the Lake despite flubbing the accent at times - but finding out she was Co$ was disappointing.
And she was quoted making that snarky comment about him after they split.... why would she say that if he was covering for her?
ReplyDelete"One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person,’” Moss, 30, told New York Post's Page Six in March 2012, adding, "To me, that sums it up.”
ReplyDelete"She must f**king hate you," Stern, 58, told Armisen, who replied, "I imagine so."
"... You must have been a terrible husband," Stern added, as Armisen answered, "I think I was a terrible husband, I think I'm a terrible boyfriend."
Susan nice that he admitted it. Sheesh, why get married in the first place?
DeleteI, too, question why they would have split if it was a cover up situation.
ReplyDeleteI believed all the rumors about Fred cheating until I realized she was a Scientologist. Whenever any of the famous ones divorce, the 'church' leaks false info to the tabloid press. My guess is that he didn't realize how deep into the religion she was and that's what made him run.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised of either of them were gay, but also don't think their careers would suffer if they came out.
@sandybrook: Way to generalize and stereotype! You don't know many lesbians, do you? At least none who would tell you they were.
ReplyDeleteWell, whatever the deal is with Moss, Fred did cheat on her with Abby Elliott before the divorce.
ReplyDeleteCosign Nomnom and B.Profane
ReplyDeleteyep, thinking Moss and Armisen too! Those evil Scientology weirdos! GAh! they piss me off. What a pack of closet cases.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if Armison is straight or gay but I still cannot believe that he used to be a drummer in a punk rock band and the Blue Man Group back in Chicago!
ReplyDeletestrange.
So dude ex husband who everyone knows is spreading the joy says his ex is totally a lesbo, bro. How is that a story? Also, she was in the epic Get Him To The Greek, which cannot EVER be called "not much else". Furry walls 4eva!!
ReplyDeleteYeh, Peggy.
